Karlovy Vary (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkarlovɪ ˈvarɪ] ; German: Karlsbad, formerly also spelled Carlsbad in English) is a spa city in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 49,000 inhabitants. It lies at the confluence of the rivers Ohře and Teplá. It is named after Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and the King of Bohemia, who founded the city. Karlovy Vary is the site of numerous hot springs (13 main springs, about 300 smaller springs, and the warm-water Teplá River), and is the most visited spa town in the Czech Republic. The historic city centre with the spa cultural landscape is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument reservation. It is the largest spa complex in Europe. In 2021, the city became part of the transnational UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name "Great Spa Towns of Europe" because of its spas and architecture from the 18th through 20th centuries.

The Mill Colonnade (Czech: Mlýnská kolonáda) is a large colonnade containing several hot springs in the spa town of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The structure is one of the traditional symbols of the town.

The Teplá (German: Tepl) is a river in the Czech Republic, a right tributary of the Ohře River. It flows through the Karlovy Vary Region. It is 65.1 km (40.5 mi) long. The basin of the river is known for thermal springs.

Zimní stadion Karlovy Vary was an indoor sporting arena located in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The capacity of the arena was 4,680 people and was built in 1947. It was to home HC Energie Karlovy Vary and HC Energie Karlovy Vary (juniors) ice hockey team until the KV Arena was constructed in 2009.

Březová (German: Pirkenhammer) is a municipality and village in Karlovy Vary District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 700 inhabitants.

The Rolava (German: Rohlau) is a left tributary of the Ohře river in the northwest of the Czech Republic. It is 36.7 kilometres (22.8 mi) long, and its basin area is 138 square kilometres (53 sq mi).It rises in the Czech part of the Ore Mountains near the border with Germany, in the territory of Přebuz. North of its source is the raised bog of Großer Kranichsee, whose waters the Rolava partly collects. During its course in a mainly southeasterly direction the river flows between Vysoká Pec and Nové Hamry, then through Nejdek, Smolné Pece and Nová Role. It then flows through Karlovy Vary from northwest to southeast and discharges into the Ohře.

KV Arena is an indoor sporting arena located in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, built in 2009. The maximum capacity of the arena is 7,500 people, or 5,874 seating people for ice hockey matches. It is currently home to the HC Energie Karlovy Vary ice hockey team. KV Arena comprises 4 interconnecting halls: Multi-purpose Hall (Main Hall), Training Hall, Ball Sports Hall and Swimming Pool.
