South Willard Street Historic District

The South Union Street Historic District encompasses a historic 19th-century residential neighborhood for the upper middle class in Burlington, Vermont. Developed along South Union Street between Main and Howard Streets, South Union grew between about 1835 and 1938 as a popular area for well-to-do yet middle class Burlingtonians, affording views of Lake Champlain to the west. The architecturally diverse district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Wells-Jackson Carriage House Complex is a well-preserved complex of estate outbuildings at 192-194 Jackson Court and 370 Maple Street in Burlington, Vermont, United States. Built in 1901 as part of a larger estate, the complex includes a carriage house, tack house, and coachman's quarters of a quality unrivaled in the state. Obsoleted by the advent of the automobile, the buildings have been converted to residential use. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Champlain College is a private college in Burlington, Vermont. Founded in 1878, Champlain offers on-campus undergraduate and online undergraduate courses through Champlain College Online, along with online certificate and degree programs and master's degree programs, in more than 80 subject areas. Champlain enrolls 2,200 undergraduate students on its Burlington, Vermont campus from 44 states and 17 countries.

The Winterbotham Estate is a historic former estate property at 163 South Willard Street in Burlington, Vermont. Developed beginning about 1820, it is a prominent local example of a Federal period country estate, with many later additions. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, at which time it housed the city's school administration. It now houses administrative offices of Champlain College, and is called Skiff Hall.

The Edward Wells House is a historic house at 61 Summit Street in Burlington, Vermont. Built in 1891–92 for the president of a patent medicine maker, it is one of the city's finest examples of Queen Anne Victorian architecture executed in brick and stone. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The house was for many years home to the Delta Psi fraternity; is now owned by the University of Vermont.

Grasse Mount (otherwise known as the Thaddeus Tuttle House) is a campus building of the University of Vermont (UVM), which is located on 411 Main Street (adjacent to the intersection of Summit Street) in Burlington, Vermont. Built in 1804 for Captain Thaddeus Tuttle (1758–1836), a local merchant, the building was designed by architect and surveyor John Johnson and constructed by carpenter Abram Stevens. By 1824, Tuttle had lost his fortune and sold the property to Vermont Governor Cornelius Van Ness. Named after French Admiral François Joseph Paul de Grasse "Grasse Mount" was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 11, 1973.

The Daniel Webster Robinson House is a historic house at 384-388 Main Street in Burlington, Vermont. It was designed by the Boston firm of Peabody and Stearns and built in 1885-1886 for prepared lumber magnate Daniel Webster Robinson. Since 1931 it has housed the Alpha Iota Chapter of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority affiliated with the University of Vermont (UVM). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Burlington Memorial Auditorium is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose arena, in Burlington, Vermont. It was built in 1927 (Frank Lyman Austin, architect), and is operated by the Burlington Department of Parks and Recreation. As a convention center, it offers 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2) of space. The main space contains a 27-by-80-foot proscenium stage. The building also has two smaller event spaces.It was also used for concerts, conventions, trade shows, graduations, pro wrestling and other special events. Such artists as Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel have performed here.It was one of the homes of the Vermont Frost Heaves, formerly of the PBL.In July 2016, the structure was deemed structurally unsafe for use or occupancy by the city engineer, requiring the two groups leasing it (the 242 Main youth center and Burlington City Arts Project) to move out.

The Fletcher Free Library is the public library serving Burlington, Vermont. It is located at 235 College Street, in an architecturally distinguished Beaux-Arts building, constructed in 1902 with funding support from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Main Street–College Street Historic District encompasses a historically fashionable residential area of Burlington, Vermont. Principally located along Main and College Streets between South Winooski and South Williams Streets (between downtown and the UVM campus), the area was one of the city's most exclusive residential areas from the early 19th century to the early 20th century, and includes a diversity of high quality architecture from that period. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Lucy Ruggles House is a historic house at 262 South Prospect Street in Burlington, Vermont, USA. Its main section built in 1857, it is a prominent local example of Italianate architecture, with both older and newer ells to the rear. It is now home to a non-profit senior living facility, operating on the premises since 1932. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Burlington is the most populous municipality in the U.S. state of Vermont and the seat of Chittenden County. It is located 45 miles (72 km) south of the Canada–United States border and 95 miles (153 km) south of Montreal. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the population was 44,743. It is the least populous city in the 50 U.S. states to be the most populous city in its state. A regional college town, Burlington is home to Champlain College and the University of Vermont (UVM). Vermont's largest hospital, the UVM Medical Center, is within the city limits. The City of Burlington owns Vermont's largest airport, the Burlington International Airport, located in neighboring South Burlington. In 2015, Burlington became the first city in the U.S. to run entirely on renewable energy.
