Snailwell Meadows is a 14.8-hectare (37-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Snailwell in Cambridgeshire.The meadows are on peat overlying spring-fed chalk, with a variety of soil conditions. Some areas are dry calcareous pasture, and others are wet neutral and marshy acidic grassland. Herbs include wild angelica, marsh valerian and fen bedstraw, and the nationally rare umbellifer Cambridge milk-parsley is also present.The site is private land with no public access.

Brackland Rough is a 10.7-hectare (26-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Fordham in Cambridgeshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire as Fordham Woods.This wet woodland site has semi-natural alder coppice, with ash, crack willow and silver birch. The ground flora has tall fens, together with herbs such as marsh marigold and yellow flag.There is access by a footpath from River Lane.

Freckenham is a small rural village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in East Anglia, in the country of England. Geographically, it is relatively flat and has the River Kennet, a tributary of the River Lark locally known as the Lee Brook, cutting through the centre of the village. The parish's boundary forms, on its west and south sides, the boundary between Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. The village's name is listed as "Frekeham" in 895, and appears in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Frakenaham". The name is believed to mean "homestead of a man called Freca", or derive from frecena a Saxon word meaning "the home of strong men or warriors".

It is owned by Cambridgeshire County Council and managed by the council together with the Friends of Isleham Nature Reserves.The site is a stretch of a former railway line. It is grassland and hedgerows with a wide variety of fauna and flora. There are flowering plants such as field scabious, greater knapweed, St John's wort, wild marjoram and bladder campion.There is access from Fordham Road.
