Jarrow Roofing Boldon Community Association Football Club was a football club based in Boldon Colliery, near Sunderland, England. The club was founded by Richie McLoughlin, who played for the club and was manager and chairman, as well as building the club's ground with members of the committee.

Brockley Whins is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the suburbs of Boldon Colliery and Brockley Whins, South Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network on 31 March 2002, following the opening of the extension from Pelaw to South Hylton.

Brockley Whins is an area in South Tyneside, part of South Shields, with a postcode of NE32 [1] It is served by Brockley Whins Metro station. The name originates from a farm which was located about 400 metres East, in what is now the Biddick Hall Estate. ("Brockley" means "of badgers" and "Whins" is synonymous with "bushes"). When the Brandling Junction Railway (now the Newcastle-Sunderland metro line) was built (1839) it crossed the Stanhope and Tyne railway nearby. Sidings were put in place to connect the 2 railways together, and a station was placed there, named after the farm because it was the nearest habitation at that time. The modern estate was apparently named after the station.

Boldon School is a coeducational secondary school located in Boldon Colliery, South Tyneside, England.A community school administered by South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council, it has a specialism in sports. The school relocated to a new £17.5 million building in 2006. Boldon School offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. The school also operates a vocational sixth form which offers NVQs and further BTECs.

The Boldons are a group of three small villages in the north east of England – East Boldon, West Boldon and Boldon Colliery – north of Sunderland, east of Newcastle and south of South Shields and Jarrow. In 2001 they had a population of 13,271.Lying within the historic boundaries of County Durham, the villages are first recorded in print in 1170. Their names evolved from the words "Bold" or "Botl", meaning a building, and "dun", meaning a type of hillfort.In 1866, work began sinking a pit that began producing coal in 1869, and was then known as Boldon New Winning. The village that developed nearby in the 1870s became known as Boldon Colliery. When the mine was deepened and extended in the 1910s, further housing to accommodate the workforce was built to the south of the pit in an area known as Boldon New Town. Until 1974 the area was administered as an urban district of County Durham, but since then has been part of the borough of South Tyneside. In 1976, the Boldon Colliery Band appeared in episode 13 of the television series When the Boat Comes In. The mine closed in 1982 but more jobs became available when an Asda supermarket opened in 1987. Recent developments include Boldon Business Park. Boldon Colliery also has its own multi-screen cinema operated by Cineworld. The main secondary school in the area is Boldon School, a specialist sports college.

South Tyneside is a metropolitan borough in the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear, England. It is bordered by all four other boroughs in Tyne and Wear: Gateshead to the west, Sunderland in the south, North Tyneside to the north and Newcastle upon Tyne to the north-west. The border county of Northumberland lies further north. Bede is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the town of Jarrow, South Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network on 24 March 1984, following the opening of the fifth phase of the network, between Heworth and South Shields. The station is named after the Venerable Bede – a monk who established the nearby St. Paul's Monastery during the seventh century.

South Shields Football Club is a football club based in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. The third club of this name, it was formed in 1974 and plays its home matches at First Cloud Arena in Simonside Industrial Estate. South Shields currently play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
