Twello train accident

Twello is a railway station serving the village Twello, Netherlands. The original station was opened in 1887, closed in 1951 and reopened in 2006. It is located on the Apeldoorn–Deventer railway. The train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

Twello is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Voorst, about 5 km (3 mi) southwest of Deventer. Twello is a village between the cities Deventer and Apeldoorn. It has several primary schools, among them De Hietweide, a public school, which means it has no religion tied to it; Sint Martinus, a Catholic primary school, located in front of the Sint Martinuskerk (see picture); De Wingerd, a Christian primary school located next to the Town Hall and De Kleine Wereld, a Christian primary school. The village also has two high schools for VMBO (voorbereidend middelbaar beroepsonderwijs, pre-vocational secondary education) and the first three grades of HAVO (hoger algemeen voortgezet onderwijs, higher general continued education). Twello was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Voorst.

The Flevo Festival was an open air Christian music festival held each August in the Netherlands. The festival was first organized as the Kamperland Festival in 1978 by the Dutch arm of Youth for Christ and became a private foundation in 2002. The last event was held in 2012; one month later, the organization decided to stop gatherings because the quantity of visitors was decreasing: For example, in 2012 the number of people attending the festival was 6,000, whereas in 2011 that number was 9,500 people. In its heyday, the festival attracted approximately 10,000 to 20,000 people each year. It highlighted all musical styles, but especially rock, and was considered by some to be the most important European Christian festival. Previous headline bands have included Stryper, dc Talk, Jars of Clay, Sixpence None the Richer, Bride, Audio Adrenaline, SONICFLOOd, Switchfoot and Five Iron Frenzy. In 2013 a group of former volunteers from Flevo Festival organised a festival in line with the 35 years of history of Flevo, naming it Flavor Festival.

Bussloo is a village in the municipality of Voorst in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. On the beach De Kuiter, on the South Western side of the lake, nudist recreation is permitted.It was first mentioned in 1390 as ten Loe, and means forest. In 1818, a church is built on the estate of the Baron of Wijnbergen. The ruins of Castle Bussloo are near the church. Bussloo consists of about 55 houses.

Teuge is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland, between Apeldoorn and Deventer. It is part of the municipality of Voorst. Its population is around 800 people and it is best known for being the location of Teuge International Airport. The main access road is the N344. Since 2001, Ecotribe Teuge is a squatted former barracks.

The siege of Deventer was a siege of the city of Deventer from 1 to 10 June 1591 during the Eighty Years' War by Dutch and English troops under Maurice of Nassau in an attempt to retake it from its Spanish garrison, commanded by Herman van den Bergh on behalf of the Spanish.

Deventer (Dutch: [ˈdeːvəntər] ; Sallands: Daeventer) is a city and municipality in the Salland historical region of the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. In 2020, Deventer had a population of 100,913. The city is largely situated on the east bank of the river IJssel, but it also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (with a population of about 5,000 people) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country . Deventer is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. The place is mentioned in 9th-century sources from the Diocese of Utrecht. A charter from 877 AD mentions seven farmsteads in Daventre portu (the Deventer harbor). In 952 AD, Deventer is mentioned as a city in a gift certificate from King Otto I. After the place had acquired more and more rights and privileges over time, it received the municipal lands from Emperor Henry V in 1123. This is considered by historians to be the moment of Deventer obtaining the city rights by the inhabitants. The city has the oldest stone house, the oldest walking park and with the Athenaeum library also the oldest scientific library in the Netherlands.

Teuge Airport (Dutch: Vliegveld Teuge) or Teuge International Airport (ICAO: EHTE) is a small general aviation airfield 4.5 nautical miles (8.3 km; 5.2 mi) west from Deventer and 3.5 nautical miles (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) northeast from Apeldoorn. It is located in the village of Teuge, part of the Voorst municipality in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. The airport has a single runway, oriented 08/26 with a length of 1,199 m (3,934 ft). A second runway, aligned 03/21, existed up to 2012. It saw limited use and was closed when the land on the north side of the airport was sold. Next to general aviation, the airfield is also used extensively for skydiving and glider flying. Though no scheduled international flights take place from the airport, customs services are available upon request, hence it is still designated an international airport. Several companies at the airport specialise in aerial photography, and it is the home airfield of aerobatics pilot Frank Versteegh, a former Red Bull Air Race participant.

Klarenbeek is a railway station, located in Klarenbeek, Netherlands. The station opened on 1 June 1882 and is on the Amsterdam–Zutphen railway (Oosterspoorweg). The station is actually 2 km north-east of Klarenbeek. The station was originally only built because the line between Apeldoorn and Zutphen was single track, a passing point was needed, this was here. Until December 2006, the station had just 1 platform and one train each way per hour stopped at the station, allowing the other to pass. In December 2006, when 2 more new stations were built on the line, the station received 2 platforms. The train services are operated by Arriva.
