Lincoln University (Lincoln U) is a public, historically black, land-grant university in Jefferson City, Missouri. Founded in 1866 by African-American veterans of the American Civil War, it is a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. This was the first black university in the state. In the fall 2022, the university enrolled 1,833 students.

H. E. Gensky Grocery Store Building, also known as Capitol City Lodge No. 9 F. & A.M. and Cherry Street Market, is a historic commercial building located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was built in 1915, and is a two-story, rectangular, brick building. It has a front gable roof and features a two-tiered, recessed front porch supported by continuous, slender brick columns. The building exemplifies Missouri-German craftsmanship.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Jefferson City, informally Jeff City, is the capital of the U.S. state of Missouri. It had a population of 43,228 at the 2020 census, ranking as the 15th most populous city in the state. It is also the county seat of Cole County and the principal city of the Jefferson City Metropolitan Statistical Area, the second-most-populous metropolitan area in Mid-Missouri and the fifth-largest in the state. Most of the city is in Cole County, with a small northern section extending into Callaway County. Jefferson City is named for Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. Jefferson City is located on the northern edge of the Ozark Plateau on the southern side of the Missouri River in a region known as Mid-Missouri, that is roughly mid-way between the state's two large urban areas of Kansas City and St. Louis. It is 29 miles (47 km) south of Columbia, Missouri, and sits at the western edge of the Missouri Rhineland, one of the major wine-producing regions of the Midwest. The city is dominated by the domed Capitol, which rises from a bluff overlooking the Missouri River to the north; Lewis and Clark passed the bluff on their historic expedition upriver before Europeans established any settlement there. Many of Jefferson City's primary employers are in service and manufacturing industries. Jefferson City is also home to Lincoln University, a public historically black land-grant university founded in 1866 by the 62nd Regiment of U.S. Colored Troops with support from the 65th Regiment of U.S. Colored Troops.

John B. and Elizabeth Ruthven House, also known as the Wehmeyer House and Ruthven-Wehmeyer House, is a historic home located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was built about 1879, and is a one-story, five-bay, Missouri-German Vernacular brick dwelling. It has a hipped roof, arched brick lintels, and an original rear ell.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Hugh and Bessie Stephens House, also known as the Lincoln University President's Residence, is a historic home located in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was designed by the architectural firm Tracy and Swartwout and built in 1913. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, French Eclectic style stone-clad dwelling. It has a one-story wing and steeply pitched hipped roof with front facing cross gables on either corner. Also on the property are the contributing hipped roof stone-clad garage and retaining wall connected to a square stone gazebo. The house has served as the Lincoln University President's residence since 1965.: 5, 8 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Kaullen Mercantile Company, also known as Ben Derkum Store Property and Paul Griffin Marine Sales, is a historic commercial building located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was built in 1896, and a major expansion and rehabilitation of the building occurred in 1923. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped, brick two-part commercial block. It has a hipped roof and two hip roof dormers. The building housed a grocery store business from 1896 to 1942, and was in the marine retail service from 1942 to 1977.: 5, 13 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Hobo Hill Historic District is a national historic district located in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It encompasses seven contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Jefferson City. The district developed between about 1908 and 1916, and includes representative examples of Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, Bungalow / American Craftsman, and American Foursquare style architecture. Notable buildings include the Adolph Brandenberger House (1910).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Munichburg Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It encompasses nine contributing buildings in Jefferson City. The district developed between about 1892 and 1951, and includes representative examples of Early Commercial and One and Two Part Commercial architecture. Notable buildings include the Nieghorn House Hotel (1892), Southside Barber Shop (c. 1893, 1951), Schmidt Shoe Store (1908), Southside Dry Goods (c. 1918), Milo H. Walz Hardware Store (c. 1924), Milo H. Walz Furniture Store (1936), Henry Schmidt Grocery Store (c. 1908), Central Dairy (c. 1935, 1942), and Busch's Florist (c. 1935).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
