Hugh and Bessie Stephens House, also known as the Lincoln University President's Residence, is a historic home located in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was designed by the architectural firm Tracy and Swartwout and built in 1913. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, French Eclectic style stone-clad dwelling. It has a one-story wing and steeply pitched hipped roof with front facing cross gables on either corner. Also on the property are the contributing hipped roof stone-clad garage and retaining wall connected to a square stone gazebo. The house has served as the Lincoln University President's residence since 1965.: 5, 8 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Lincoln University (Lincoln U) is a public, historically black, land-grant university in Jefferson City, Missouri. Founded in 1866 by African-American veterans of the American Civil War, it is a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. This was the first black university in the state. In the fall 2022, the university enrolled 1,833 students.

It has a hipped roof, arched brick lintels, and an original rear ell.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

H. E. Gensky Grocery Store Building, also known as Capitol City Lodge No. 9 F. & A.M. and Cherry Street Market, is a historic commercial building located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was built in 1915, and is a two-story, rectangular, brick building. It has a front gable roof and features a two-tiered, recessed front porch supported by continuous, slender brick columns. The building exemplifies Missouri-German craftsmanship.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Jefferson City, informally Jeff City, is the capital of the U.S. state of Missouri. It had a population of 43,228 at the 2020 census, ranking as the 15th most populous city in the state. It is also the county seat of Cole County and the principal city of the Jefferson City Metropolitan Statistical Area, the second-most-populous metropolitan area in Mid-Missouri and the fifth-largest in the state. Most of the city is in Cole County, with a small northern section extending into Callaway County. Jefferson City is named for Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. Jefferson City is located on the northern edge of the Ozark Plateau on the southern side of the Missouri River in a region known as Mid-Missouri, that is roughly mid-way between the state's two large urban areas of Kansas City and St. Louis. It is 29 miles (47 km) south of Columbia, Missouri, and sits at the western edge of the Missouri Rhineland, one of the major wine-producing regions of the Midwest. The city is dominated by the domed Capitol, which rises from a bluff overlooking the Missouri River to the north; Lewis and Clark passed the bluff on their historic expedition upriver before Europeans established any settlement there. It features a corner entrance, as well as a highly detailed cornice and attic level windows. It has two individual storefronts on the first floor, and two apartments upstairs behind a single facade.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Temple Beth El is a Reform Jewish synagogue located at 318 Monroe Street, in Jefferson City, Missouri, in the United States. Built in 1883 it has been in continuous use at that location since its construction. Shabbat services are led by members of the congregation every Friday night, and holiday services are also observed. The congregation is affiliated with Union for Reform Judaism. Temple Beth El is the oldest synagogue building in use west of the Mississippi.

Cole County Courthouse and Jail-Sheriff's House is a historic courthouse, jail and sheriff's residence, located in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. It was built in 1896-1897 and is a three-story, Romanesque Revival style, stone building. It measures 107 feet by 69 feet and features corner pavilions and a central clock tower.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is located in the Missouri State Capitol Historic District.

Ivy Terrace, also known as the Gov. Lawrence V. (Lon) Stephens House , is a historic home located at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. Built in 1893, it is a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It sits on a foundation of rough limestone blocks. It features a rounded tower, wraparound verandah, high and irregular roof, fish scale shingles, and asymmetrical facade. Lawrence Vest Stephens occupied the dwelling while serving as Missouri State Treasurer, for three years prior to becoming governor in 1897.: 2, 8 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is located in the Capitol Avenue Historic District.
