Ernakulam (IPA: [erɐɳɐːguɭɐm] ; ISO: Eṟaṇākuḷaṁ) is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala, and takes its name from the eponymous city division in Kochi. It is situated in the central part of the state, spans an area of about 2,924 square kilometres (1,129 sq mi), and is home to over 9% of Kerala's population. Its headquarters are located at Kakkanad. The district includes Kochi, also known as the commercial capital of Kerala, which is famous for its ancient churches, Hindu temples, synagogues and mosques. The district includes the largest metropolitan region of the state: Greater Cochin. Ernakulam district yields the highest revenue and the largest number of industries in the state. Ernakulam is the third most populous district in Kerala, after Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram (out of 14 districts). The district also hosts the highest number of international and domestic tourists in Kerala state. The most commonly spoken language in Ernakulam is Malayalam. English is widely used, mostly in business circles. Ernakulam became India's first district to have 100 percent banking or full "meaningful financial inclusion" in 2012.Ernakulam has a high Human Development Index of 0.801 (UNHDP report 2005), which is one of the highest in India.

It has a built up area of 540,000 sq ft (50,000 m2) on 15 floors with a combination of retail, leisure and office space.Q1 Mall is located between Pipeline and Vytilla, two major junctions in NH 66.

Palarivattom is a ward of Kochi, Kerala. It is known for a four-directional intersection at its highway signal point on the Kochi Bypass. The district is a commercial area, which gained importance as a connecting point between the city's different taluks when the district's administration was moved to the nearby suburb of Kakkanad.

Thuthiyoor is a region near Kakkanad in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Thuthiyoor shares its boundaries with Chittethukara, Eroor, Kakkanad and Palachuvadu. The rear wall of Cochin Special Economic Zone forms the north-eastern boundary. It has a history of about 100 years, mainly associated with the local mosque Palachuvadu Juma Masjid and Sreekrishnaswamy Temple (only one Sreekrishna temple in Thrikkakara Panchayathu). There are other six temples in this village. Two Christian churches, three schools and two convents are situated in this village. Most of the people are god fearing and harmonious. St. Charles school, St. Mary's school and Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya are the main schools in this area. The Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo established the St. Charles Convent at Thuthiyoor in 1993. This convent's work included the establishment of an English Medium school, which opened in 1996.The infamous 300 feet deep "Paaramada" is a must watch. There is a tradition of young Malayali boys (also called 'Freakens' or 'Frrreakenz') who play a peculiar style of cricket every evening, barring the days when it rains during game time (between 4 and 6.30 pm).

Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School is a private Catholic primary and secondary school located in Kakkanad, Kochi in the state of Kerala, India. Popularly known as AVPS or Assisi, it was founded in June 1994.

Thammanam (Malayalam: തമ്മനം) is a region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. The region is classified as per official records as a suburban residential area within the Kochi city limit and falls under the Kannayanur taluk. Thammanam can be claimed to lie at the heart of the city, and is equidistant from crucial city junctions, namely Palarivattom and Vyttila. The Palarivattom-Vyttila connection road passes through Thammanam, and meets Ponnurunni and Pipeline Junction as well. Thammanam is connected to the commercial hub of Kochi, MG Road via Thammanam-Pullepady Road which is situated at a distance of around 5 km, by a convenient road network through Kathrikkadavu. The region is also situated just a km from the main National Highway of Kerala connecting Trivandrum in the south to Kasaragod in the north of Kerala. The city's prime locations lie within a radius of 6 km from Thammanam, making it a predominantly residential and commercial area with modern facilities in and around the city region.

The Cochin Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) is a multi-product special economic zone located at Kochi, Kerala. It is established in an area of 41.7 hectares (103.0 acres) in Kakkanad. It is a multi-product zone, with industrial units operating in Electronics Hardware, Engineering, Gem & Jewellery, IT & ITES, Agro & Food Processing, Textile & garments, Plastic & Rubber etc. Currently it has around 160 units operating employing more than 15,000 people. In FY2011-12, the total exports from the zone stood at ₹ 29,961 crore, recording a 63% rise in exports compared to the previous financial year.For the current financial year 2012-13, as on 30 September 2012, the total exports from CSEZ stand at ₹ 16,306 crore, ranking it the third among SEZs in the country.CSEZ was originally started as one of the first Export Processing Zone in India, and was later converted into a Special Economic Zone in 2003, when that system was introduced. It is operated by the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce, under the CSEZ Authority, and headed by a Development Commissioner. It is the first integrated industrial park in Kerala. The land area of the existing zone in Kochi has been fully utilized. As part of expansion of CSEZ, a proposal to set up phase II of the Zone in 125 acres of land adjacent to the Infopark in Cherthala has been mooted.

Oberon Mall is a shopping mall located in the Indian city of Kochi. The mall was opened formally on 2 March 2009, though it was launched in 2008. The cost of construction of the mall is about ₹1 billion. It is built on an area of 350,000 square feet (33,000 m2) across five floors of shops. It also has office spaces and covers grounds of up to 6 acres (2.4 ha).Oberon Mall was developed and promoted by the Oberon Group of Companies, India. The mall is one of the busiest shopping avenues for the city of Kochi.Wild Fish, a world-class seafood store from Abad Food Services which offers live, fresh and frozen seafood, opened their store in Oberon Mall. A fire broke out at Oberon Mall in May 2017 but no severe damage was reported.

Cyberpark Kozhikode is a Government of Kerala owned business park for the promotion and development of investment in Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) industries in the Malabar region of Kerala. It was registered under the Societies Act 1860 on January 28, 2009. In addition to this, it has a General Body and a Board of Governors, both of which include top officials of the government.Cyberpark, Kozhikode has been envisioned and conceptualized as a major IT hub catering to the northern part of Kerala for the development of IT/ITeS sector in the state.after a trail-blazing performance with the success of Technopark, Trivandrum and Infopark, Kochi under Kerala IT. Cyberpark, Kozhikode the first IT park promoted by the state in the Malabar region was established under Cyberparks Kozhikode an autonomous society registered under the Society Registration Act 1860, on 28 January 2009. The ultimate objective was to facilitate state of the art infrastructure space with supporting facilities with an IT eco system which would enhance the development of Information & communication Technology, Create Direct & indirect Job opportunities and parallelly contribute to the economic development of the state. Cyberpark in association with KSITIL has leased out 5 acres of SEZ land from KSITIL (Developer) in a 45-acre campus and have developed the first IT SEZ building Sahya measuring around 3 lakhs sq.ft. with a structure of double basement + Ground + 4 upper floors. Cyberpark inaugurated the building on 29 May 2017 and is fully operational. Cyberpark presently has over 85 companies functioning, and 2000 IT professionals employed. Cyberpark provides a unique business model with a quality IT space in terms of Smart Business Centers – Plug & Play module and Warm Shell Option on lease terms. IT/ITeS companies could establish their operations in Cyberpark and commence business operations either immediately or design their office space as per their specifications and investments after obtaining SEZ unit approval. Palarivattom is a station of Kochi Metro. The station served as the south terminus of the line until the extension to Maharaja's College was opened on 3 October 2017. The station is now located between Changampuzha Park and J. L. N. Stadium. The name of the station originates from Palarivattom, the area it is located. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 17 June and opened for public on 19 June 2017 as a part of the first stretch of the metro system, between Aluva and Palarivattom.

The Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, also known as Kaloor Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Ernakulam Kochi, Kerala, India. Since the 2017 renovation, the stadium has a seating capacity of 40,000. Previously, it used to have capacity of 80,000 spectators, that was limited to 41,000 for Indian Super League matches due to various security reasons. It is the home ground of the Indian Super League Club Kerala Blasters FC. The stadium is widely touted to have hosted one of the loudest audiences for association football matches in the world.The stadium has played host to a number of international cricket and football matches but after 2014 it didn't hold any cricket match due to ISL. The extensive grounds of the stadium serve as venue for important exhibitions, cinema events and political rallies in the city. The most innovative aspect of the stadium is its unique lighting towers of 2 kW Floodlights which when switched on fully can provide lighting levels for HD telecast. The Structure of the tower is itself one of a kind in India. Greater Cochin Development Authority leased out the Jawaharlal Nehru International stadium at Kaloor to the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for a period of 30 years.The stadium acts as the home ground for teams including Kerala cricket team, Kerala Blasters FC (Indian Super League). As of 19 August 2017, the stadium has hosted 10 One Day Internationals. Stadium holds the privilege of having the fifth loudest crowd (128 db) in the world, during ISL 2016 final match where Kerala Blasters played against Atletico de Kolkata. Kochi was one of the six host cities for 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India. It was extensively renovated before the event.
