Scalby, a village on the north edge of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England, is part of the civil parish of Newby and Scalby. From 1902 to 1974, Scalby was an urban district in the North Riding of Yorkshire. Scalby is 2.5 miles (4 km) north of Scarborough, and is separated from the town's suburbs by the Scalby Beck, which flows to the North Sea at Scalby Mills. Scalby is a village which is bisected by the A171 Scarborough to Whitby road. The older part of the village is west of the main crossroads and is focused around a small but busy High Street.

Raincliffe School was a comprehensive secondary school, with Business and Enterprise College status, in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. On 31 August 2012, Raincliffe School formally closed, entering a federation with nearby Graham School.For many years the school held an annual fell run, called the Muddy Rut, in which the entire student roll would race through Raincliffe Woods. On 23 June 2017, the Raincliffe school site (Graham lower school) closed due to falling pupil numbers.

Scarborough TEC, (formerly known as Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough Technical College, Scarborough Technical Institute, and Scarborough School of Art) is a further education college located on Filey Road Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It is a constituent college of the Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education.Yorkshire Coast College was originally an independently controlled institution, but due to consistently poor results and long-term financial difficulties was taken over by the Grimsby Institute in January 2010.College courses for students from Scarborough and the surrounding area include NVQs, GCSEs, BTECs, Apprenticeships and Access courses, and some higher education courses in conjunction with the University of Hull.In November 2016, the name was changed from Yorkshire Coast College to Scarborough TEC, with the TEC standing for Training, Education, Careers.

Graham School is a coeducational secondary school in the west of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated to the west of the town within 22 acres (8.9 ha) of grounds. The school is on Woodlands Drive. The lower site on Lady Edith's Drive closed on 23rd June 2017. Graham School provides for pupils aged 11 to 16 (year 7 to year 11)

Scarborough Hospital, formerly Scarborough General Hospital is an NHS district general hospital in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It is run by the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Scalby Manor near Scarborough, North Yorkshire was built in 1885 by Edwin Brough. He was the leading breeder and trainer in England of bloodhounds at his time and when the Whitechapel murders occurred several years later he was invited by the Commissioner of Police to help track the killer. The house which was then called Wyndyate remained a private residence until the late 1930s when it was used as a guest house and then became a hotel. Today it is a restaurant and a pub.

Burniston is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough borough of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated about four miles north of Scarborough itself, on the A171 road. According to the 2011 UK census Burniston parish had a population of 1,523, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 1,389. With all the new houses at River Meadows, the population is now roughly 1,500. The parish council is Burniston Parish Council.
