Meinohama Station (姪浜駅, Meinohama-eki) is a railway station in Nishi-ku, Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is jointly operated by JR Kyushu and the Fukuoka City Transportation Bureau. The station symbol of the subway station is a yacht in yellow, symbolising nearby Odo yacht harbour(ja).

Nishi-ku (西区) is one of the seven wards of Fukuoka City, Japan. Meaning literally "west ward," it is bordered to the east by Sawara-ku, and to the west by Itoshima. As of 2003, it has a population of 173,813 people and an area of 83.81 km2. As of 2016, its population had increased to 206,000 people. It has recently gained additional infrastructure in the form of the Nanakuma Line, in addition to the Fukuoka City Subway and the Chikuhi Line. At the time of Fukuoka City's official designation as a City in 1972, Nishi-ku covered an larger area than it does today. On May 1, 1982, Nishi-ku was subdivided into the three smaller wards of Nishi-ku, Sawara-ku and Jōnan-ku.

The Genkō Bōrui (元寇防塁) was a defensive stone wall, 20 kilometres (12 mi) long, constructed along Hakata Bay in Fukuoka Prefecture. Japan in preparation for an attack by Mongol forces of the Yuan dynasty after the first attack of 1274. The second attack of 1281 was thwarted by a typhoon, or kamikaze, and the Mongols were forced to withdraw. In the Edo period, some of the stones were reused for the construction of Fukuoka Castle, though Genkō Bōrui has remained intact at several points along the Hakata Bay. It was originally called "Ishitsuiji" (石築地). It was designated a National Historic Site on March 30, 1931.

Shimoyamato Station (下山門駅) is a railway station on the Chikuhi Line in Nishi-ku, Fukuoka, Japan. It is operated by JR Kyushu and is on the Chikuhi Line.

Muromi Station (室見駅, Muromi-eki) is a train station located in Sawara-ku, Fukuoka. The station symbol is three wavy blue lines, representing Muromi River.

Fukuoka International School (FIS) (福岡インターナショナルスクール, Fukuoka Intānashonaru Sukūru) is a PK-12 international school in Sawara-ku, Fukuoka, Japan. It was established in 1972 since the U.S. Air Force Base School had stopped operations.

Hakata Bay (博多湾, Hakata-wan) is a bay in the northwestern part of Fukuoka city, on the Japanese island of Kyūshū. It faces the Tsushima Strait, and features beaches and a port, though parts of the bay have been reclaimed in the expansion of the city of Fukuoka. The bay is perhaps most famous for the Mongol invasions of Japan of 1274 and 1281 which took place nearby; both invasions are sometimes referred to as the "Battle of Hakata Bay."

Fukuoka Detention House (福岡拘置所, Fukuoka Kōchisho) is a correctional facility in Sawara-ku, Fukuoka. A part of the penal system of Japan, it is operated by the Ministry of Justice. One of Japan's seven execution chambers is in this facility.

Fukuoka Tower (福岡タワー, Fukuoka Tawā) is a 234-metre (768 ft) tall tower located in the Momochihama area of Fukuoka, Japan. It is the tallest seaside tower in Japan. The highest observation deck at 123 metres has a 360° view of the surrounding area, being most visited at sunset. Fukuoka Tower was finished in 1989, taking a total of 14 months to build at a cost of ¥6 billion (roughly equivalent US$45 million in 1989). It was designed by Nikken Sekkei and constructed on a reclaimed land out of Hakata Bay.

Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (九州朝日放送株式会社, Kyushu Asahi Hoso Kabushiki Gaisha) is a broadcasting station in Fukuoka, Japan, and it is affiliated with National Radio Network (NRN) on radio and All-Nippon News Network (ANN) on TV. With its relay transmitters in Saga, KBC functions as the default ANN affiliate for the said prefecture, as that area doesn't have an ANN affiliate of its own.

Sawara-ku (早良区) is one of the wards in Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka-ken, Kyūshū, Japan.

Fujisaki Station (藤崎駅, Fujisaki-eki) is a train station located in Sawara-ku, Fukuoka in Japan. Its station symbol is a wisteria flower Fuji (藤) in violet.
