L'Àgora (Valencian: [ˈlaɣoɾa], Eastern Catalan: [ˈlaɣuɾə]; Spanish: El Ágora; anglicized "The Agora") is a multifunctional covered space designed by Santiago Calatrava located in the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences) complex, Valencia, Spain. The building has a height of 70 m (230 ft) and occupies 5,000 m2 of space with an open ground plan resembling a pointed ellipse about 88 m (289 ft) long and 66 m (217 ft) wide. Depending on the configuration of the space, a maximum seating capacity for 6,075 people can be reached. The building is a diaphanous large arena, with a glass roof along its spine and a movable structure to control the overhead natural light. The tall white steel rib-cage arches give the interior space an organic element, whereas the exterior is geometric and abstract, in day or when illuminated at night. L'Àgora was officially inaugurated in November 2009 to host the Valencia Open 500 ATP tournament, although the construction works were not completely finished. The Valencia Open 500 continued for six years and ended in 2015.

L'Oceanogràfic (Valencian: [loseˌanoˈɣɾafik]; Spanish: El Oceanográfico [el oˌθe.anoˈɣɾafiko], "The Oceanographic") is an oceanarium situated on the dry Turia River bed to the southeast of the city center of Valencia, Spain, where different marine habitats are represented. It was designed by the architect Félix Candela and the structural engineers Alberto Domingo and Carlos Lázaro. It is integrated inside the cultural complex known as the Ciutat de les Arts i de les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences). It was opened on 14 February 2003.

L'Umbracle (Valencian pronunciation: [lumˈbɾakle]), part of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences) complex in Valencia, Spain, is a sculpture garden and landscaped walk with plant species indigenous to Valencia (such as rockrose, lentisca, romero, honeysuckle, bougainvillea and palm trees). It harbors in its interior The Walk of the Sculptures, an outdoor art gallery with sculptures from contemporary artists (Miquel from Navarre, Francesc Abbot, Yoko Ono and others). The Umbracle is a space that is a home to numerous sculptures surrounded by nature. It was designed by Santiago Calatrava as an entrance along the south-western edge to the City of Arts and Sciences and as a cover over its car park. L'Umbracle was completed in 2001.

The Valencia Open, formerly known as Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana, was a professional men's tennis tournament played in Valencia, Spain. It was part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. The tournament was first played in Valencia in 1995 before moving to Marbella for the 1996 and 1997 editions. From 1998 to 2002, the event was held in Mallorca, and finally, in 2003, moved back to its location in Valencia. It was an ATP International Series tournament held on outdoor clay courts until 2008. In 2009, the Valencia Open and the Madrid Masters switched calendar dates and surfaces, with the Madrid Masters becoming an outdoor clay court tournament and Valencia getting into the ATP World Tour 500 series category as an indoor hardcourt tournament held in November at the newly opened L'Agora in Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. In 2015, the tournament was downgraded to the ATP World Tour 250 series. It ended with the 2015 event.

The City of Arts and Sciences (Valencian: Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències [siwˈtad de les ˈaɾts i les siˈɛnsi.es]; Spanish: Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias [θjuˈðað de las ˈartes i las ˈθjenθjas]) is a cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia and one of the 12 Treasures of Spain. The City of Arts and Sciences is situated at the southeast end of the former riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The old riverbed was turned into a picturesque sunken park. Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the project began the first stages of construction in July 1996, and was inaugurated on 16 April 1998 with the opening of L'Hemisfèric. The last major component of the City of Arts and Sciences, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, was inaugurated on 9 October 2005, Valencian Community Day. The most recent building in the complex, L'Àgora, was opened in 2009.Originally budgeted at €300 million in 1991 for three structures, it has expanded about three times the initial expected cost.
