The University of Girona (Catalan: Universitat de Girona, UdG (IPA: [uniβəɾsiˈtad də ʒiˈɾonə]); Spanish: Universidad de Girona, UdG;) is located in the city of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Its real origin dates back to its creation in 1446, but it was reestablished as a new university in 1991. As of 2021, it consists of several campus and buildings across Girona: Montilivi, Barri Vell, Centre, and Parc Científic i Tecnològic. A fifth campus, Campus de Ciències de la Salut, was proposed some time ago. Since its founding, the university has had five presidents (Catalan: rectors): Josep Maria Nadal i Farreras, from 1991 to 2002, Joan Batlle i Grabulosa from 2002 to 2005, Anna Maria Geli from 2005 to 2013, Sergi Bonet Marull from 2013 to 2017 and Joaquim Salvi since 2017 (still in office).

Girona Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona (in Catalan: Catedral de Santa Maria de Girona or simply Catedral de Girona), is a Roman Catholic church located in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Girona. The cathedral's interior includes the widest Gothic nave in the world, with a width of 23 metres (75 ft), and the second-widest of any church after that of St. Peter's Basilica (for comparison, the width of the nave of Reims Cathedral is 14.65 m, Saint-Étienne de Sens is 15.25 m, and 12 m in Notre Dame de Paris). Its construction was begun in the 11th century in the Romanesque architectural style, and continued in the 13th century in the Gothic style. Of the original Romanesque edifice only the 12th-century cloister and a bell tower remain. The second bell tower was completed in the 18th century.

The Girona Synagogue (Hebrew: הבית כנסת של גירונא) (Catalan: Sinagoga de Girona) was an important medieval synagogue in Carrer de Sant Llorenç in Girona, Spain, which served as the centre for early Spanish Kabbalism, with scholars such as Nachmanides, Issac the Blind and Azriel of Girona using the synagogue as a house of learning. The synagogue was built around the 13th century, with large renovations done in the mid 14th century, mostly funded by the Taroç family. Following the Massacre of 1391, the synagogue was desecrated and looted, however in 1415, Ferdinand I of Aragon ordered that the synagogue be restored to the Jews. During the Catalan Civil War the synagogue was partly destroyed, and following the Alhambra Decree of 1492, the synagogue was sold to the canons of Girona Cathedral on 10 July 1492 for the price of 300 pounds. Today the site of the synagogue functions as a museum where archaeological finds and documents related to the synagogues of Girona, are displayed.

The Diocese of Girona (Latin: Dioecesis Gerundensis) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church located in the city of Girona in the ecclesiastical province of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain.

The Girona City History Museum is a museum in the middle of the Old Town of Girona, in a unique building which used to be the convent of the Capuchin friars of Saint Anthony in 18th century, and which still conserves some surprising remnants of the time, such as the cemetery, cloister and cistern. The Museum features displays showing how Girona was founded, from the Roman period through to the transition to democracy, all in chronological order. Several subject areas are covered, including an exhibition dedicated to popular imagery in the city and a room dedicated to the Sardana (a type of circle dance typical of Catalan culture) and the Cobla (a music ensemble). The Museum exhibition spaces are located in the main building and in other areas dedicated to the Spanish Civil War, part of the Democratic Memory Spaces Network of Catalonia. These include the air-raid shelter in the 'Jardi de la Infància', the provincial prison and the common grave in the old cemetery.The Museum offers a varied programme of activities, and temporary exhibitions are held in different areas within the museum: in the exhibition hall, the coal room, the cistern and the cellar.

Masó House is the birthplace of Rafael Masó i Valentí (1880–1935). It is also one of the most important works of architecture in Girona. Offering unparalleled views of the city, it is the only one of the famous houses on the Onyar River open to the public. The house has been preserved with the furniture and decoration in Noucentisme style. .

The Archaeology Museum of Catalonia in Girona (Catalan: Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya a Girona, MAC Girona) is one of the five venues of the Archaeology Museum of Catalonia, located in the Sant Pere de Galligants Benedictine abbey of Girona since its foundation in 1857. It contains materials found during archaeological excavations at various sites in the province of Girona, dating from prehistory to the Middle Ages. The museum was founded as the Provincial Museum of Antiquities and Fine Arts in 1846 by the Provincial Monument Commission, and is therefore one of the oldest museums in Catalonia. Between 1846 and 1857 the Museum had several different locations, until Sant Pere de Galligants monastery in 1857, where it has remained until today, and where it was given the name by which it is popularly known.

Sant Pere de Galligants is Benedictine abbey in Girona, Catalonia. Since 1857, it is home to the Archaeology Museum of Catalonia venue in the city. The name translates to English as "Saint Peter of Galligants", where Galligants refers to the River Galligants that runs past the abby.

The Performance of Sant Narcís (or Diada de Sant Narcís in Catalan) is an annual performance of human towers made by castellers in Plaça del Vi, Girona. It is part of the acts of the main festivities of the city of Girona, dedicated to Saint Narcissus, patron of the city. Sant Narcís has seen som milestones by Minyons de Terrassa which in 1998 completed the first 4 in 9 with single base of the 20th century and their first pillar of 7 with double base, in 2008 their first pillar of 8 with triple base and in 2014 the 3 in 10 with triple base.

The Restaurant Casa Marieta is a centenary establishment recognized by the "Círculo de Restaurantes Centenarios de España", located in Independence Square, Girona, also well-known like Sant Agustí Square, because formerly the convent of Sant Agustí had been risen there. The present name is given by the war of 1808 against Napoleon Bonaparte (War of Spanish Independence).

The Sant Feliu Pedestrian Bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Onyar River in Girona, Spain. Built in 1998, the bridge connects Devesa Park with Saint Feliu Square. The structure is located in an urban surrounding, the old district of the city, with a strong personality. As a result, PEDELTA have designed a slender pedestrian structure; a pure minimalist solution. The bridge main span is 58.4 m. The structural system is a weathering steel frame with only one span, embedded on both ends into the concrete abutments.

The Cinema Museum - Tomàs Mallol Collection is a museum dedicated to the world of film and moving images. It was created in the city of Girona (Catalonia) from the Tomàs Mallol Collection of pre-cinema and cinema objects, which was acquired in 1994 by the City Council of Girona. The museum was inaugurated on April 8, 1998, the first of its kind in Spain, which hosts a variety of material of cinema and precinema. Besides the permanent exhibition displays the Tomàs Mallol Collection, a journey through 400 years of the history of the moving image. The Cinema Museum also has an active educational service with educational activities about cinema and the moving image, an extensive program of activities and temporary exhibitions, an Institute of Studies (with library service, video library and archive), a club of friends of the museum and the Museum Shop. The Cinema Museum has received several awards and honors, which include a finalist nomination in the "European Museum of the Year Award" (2000), the Gonzalez Sinde Prize (2003) awarded by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences from Spain, and in 2006 the National Heritage Award, given by the Government of Catalonia. Finally, in 2010 was awarded the Martha Mata Education Prize, awarded by the Association Rosa Sensat Teachers.
