North Gates is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Gates, in Monroe County, New York, United States. The population was 9,512 at the 2010 census. The census area was part of Gates-North Gates CDP from 1980 thru 2000.

Greece Memorial Hall, also known as Greece Town Hall, was a historic town hall building located at Greece in Monroe County, New York. It consisted of a two-story, side-gabled main building constructed in 1919; two 1+1⁄2-story flanking wings built in 1936, and a two-part addition constructed in 1955. The main building featured a 1+1⁄2-story protruding portico with a stone arch flanked by two open oculi and supported by two stone Tuscan columns. The hall memorialized the 288 young men from Greece who served in World War I, thirteen of whom died in battle.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 and demolished in 1999.

William Payne House is a historic home located at Greece, Monroe County, New York. It was built in 1905, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne style frame dwelling with a hipped and cross-gable roof. The Edison Career and Technology High School (also known as the Rochester Factory School, the Rochester Shop School and the Thomas Alva Edison Technical and Industrial High School) was a public high school in Rochester, New York, part of the Rochester City School District. It was founded in 1908, and in the 1990s was converted to the Edison Technical Education Center, housing a group of Career and Technical Education programs which have been established, abolished and combined in various ways. The school teams are known as the Edison Inventors.

The 1978 Holiday Inn fire broke out at a Holiday Inn hotel located at 1525 West Ridge Road in the town of Greece, New York, United States, on November 26, 1978. The fire was considered notable enough by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Center for Fire Research to document the fire in their 1979 publications. In the end, ten people were killed and 34 injured; seven of the fatalities were Canadian nationals. In 2008, the NFPA listed the 1978 Holiday Inn fire as one of only three dozen or so fires which killed ten or more people in the U.S. between 1934 and 2006.

Its digital subchannel broadcasts an Urban Contemporary format known as "105.5 The Beat." The subchannel feeds a 250 watt FM translator, W288CS at 105.5 MHz.

WRMM-FM (101.3 FM) is a radio station licensed to serve Rochester, New York, United States. The station is owned by Stephens Media Group. Its studios are located at the First Federal Plaza building in downtown Rochester, and its transmitter site is in Rochester's west side. WRMM broadcasts an adult contemporary music format and during November and December broadcasts Christmas music.
