Cave Creek (Boone County)

Devil's Icebox is a cave located in Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Columbia, Missouri. It is said to be one of the longest caves in the state of Missouri and is one of the caves with the highest number of species in the state. It is currently closed to protect the endangered Indiana bat, and is the only known natural home of the species Kenkia glandulosa or pink planarian.

Pierpont is a village in Boone County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 64 at the 2020 census. The village, located south of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park at Route N and Highway 163, was incorporated in 2004 to avoid annexation by the city of Columbia. It is now an independent village with its own governing board of trustees.

Clear Creek is a stream in Boone County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Little Bonne Femme Creek. The confluence is south of Columbia within the boundary of the Rock Bridge Memorial State Park adjacent to Missouri Route 163.Clear Creek was descriptively named on account of its clear water.

Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is a geological preserve and public recreation area encompassing 2,273 acres (920 ha), five miles (8.0 km) south of Columbia in Boone County, Missouri off of Missouri Route 163. The park is home to 12 caves.The state park is noted for its excellent examples of karst landforms including the rock bridge, sinkholes, and an underground stream at the cave known as Devil's Icebox. The rock bridge was created by the collapse of a section of a cave which resulted in a small arch of rock being left to form a natural bridge over the creek. The park is the only known home of Kenkia glandulosa, more commonly known as the pink planarian.

Turkey Creek is a stream in Boone County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Bonne Femme Creek. Turkey Creek was named for the wild turkeys along its course. It is one of three large creeks in Three Creeks Conservation Area.

The Columbia Area Career Center is a vocational school in Columbia, Missouri operated by Columbia Public Schools providing career and technical education. Students are mainly from Columbia's four public high schools: Hickman High School, Douglass High School, Rock Bridge High School, and Battle High School. The Career Center also serves students from Columbia Independent School, Christian Fellowship School, Heritage Academy, Tolton High School, and Centralia High School. The school also offers professional and community education for adults. It is located just north of Rock Bridge High School in South Columbia.

Father Augustine Tolton Regional Catholic High School is the first private, Roman Catholic high school in Columbia, Missouri, built in 2010. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jefferson City. The school is named after Missouri native Augustus Tolton, the first self-identified black Catholic priest in the United States. The school's enrollment for the 2017-18 school year was 285 students.

The Gans Creek Recreation Area is a 320-acre public park in Columbia, Missouri, United States. Its name derives from Gans Creek, which flows through the property. It borders the Rock Bridge Memorial State Park on its western edge. The park is owned by the City of Columbia and operated by the Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation.

Bass Creek is a stream in Boone County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Bonne Femme Creek, which flows into the Missouri River. The creek is one of the "three creeks" of Three Creeks Conservation Area. It is a losing stream and some of its water flows through Hunters Cave. The creek is named after Eli Bass, whose plantation it flowed through for much of the 1800s.

The David Gordon House and Collins Log Cabin were two historic homes located at Columbia, Missouri. The David Gordon House is a two-story, frame I-house. The 13-room structure incorporated original construction from about 1823 and several additions from the 1830s, 1890s and 1930s. The Collins Log Cabin was built in 1818, and is a single pen log house of the story and a loft design. They represent some of the first permanent dwellings in Columbia.: 2–4  The house, located in what is now Stephens Lake Park burned after arson in the early 1990s. The log cabin survived has been relocated from Stephens Lake Park to the campus of the Boone County Historical Society.They were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Maplewood is a historic home located in Columbia, Missouri, United States. It was built by Slater Ensor Lenoir and his wife Margaret Bradford Lenoir in 1877. It is a two-story, Italianate style brick dwelling. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.In 1970, the City of Columbia purchased the home and 60 acres (240,000 m2) of surrounding land. This became the Frank G. Nifong Memorial Park. Today, the home is operated jointly by the Boone County Historical Society and the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation.Things to do near the building include the annual Heritage Festival in September and the Maplewood Barn Theatre productions all year round.

Boone County Historical Society was established in 1924. Located in Columbia, Missouri, United States, the Boone County Historical Museum has been collecting, preserving and exhibiting artifacts and records of the people of Boone County, Missouri. The campus includes a history museum, an art gallery, a genealogical library, and a number of historic structures. The museum owns historical photographs spanning back to the late 19th century, revealing a Columbia that many people have never seen. The historical society and museum is a cultural and arts destination for Columbia, Missouri and surrounding communities.
