Winterbourne is a civil parish in south east Wiltshire, England, about 3.5 miles (6 km) northeast of Salisbury. The parish encompasses the contiguous villages of Winterbourne Dauntsey, Winterbourne Earls and Winterbourne Gunner, together with the hamlet of Hurdcott south of Winterbourne Earls (not to be confused with Hurdcott Manor near Baverstock). The Port Way Roman road passes the villages on higher ground, on its route towards Old Sarum. The settlements are in the Bourne valley which also carries the A338 road and the West of England Main Line railway. Winterbourne was an earlier name for the river, which becomes dry in summer. The parish has one Grade I listed building: the 12th-century St Mary's church at Winterbourne Gunner.

Winterbourne Gunner is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Winterbourne, in Wiltshire, England, about 4 miles (6 km) northeast of Salisbury. The village is near the River Bourne and the A338 road, and is close to Winterbourne Dauntsey. In 1931 the parish had a population of 292. On 1 April 1934, the parish was abolished and merged with Winterbourne Earls and Winterbourne Dauntsey to form Winterbourne parish.

Cockey Down (grid reference SU170317) is a 15.2 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Wiltshire, notified in 1971. The site is managed as a nature reserve by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

The Defence Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Centre (the Defence CBRN Centre or DCBRNC for short) is a United Kingdom military facility at Winterbourne Gunner in Wiltshire, south of Porton Down and about 4 miles (6 km) north-east of Salisbury. It is a tri-service location, with the Army being the lead service. The centre is responsible for all training issues relating to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) defence and warfare for the UK's armed forces. It is also the home of the National Ambulance Resilience Unit's Training & Education Centre which, among other things, is responsible for training the NHS ambulance service's Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART).

Old Sarum Airfield (ICAO: EGLS) is a grass strip airfield 2 nautical miles (4 km; 2 mi) north-north-east of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. The adjacent areas are a mix of vacant land, residential and industrial sites. Residential areas are to the south and east, occupying the old airfield married quarters and officers' mess, now known as Throgmorton Hall. Industrial/business units occupy a number of the World War I and World War II airfield buildings, as well as several large modern warehouses, office blocks and car showrooms, the development of which is continuing to the present day. Old Sarum is a well-preserved flying field of the World War I period, bounded by one of the most complete suites of technical and hangar buildings of the period. The site has three Grade II* listed hangars and a Grade II listed former workshop, all built in 1918, as well as a Grade II listed Territorial Army Headquarters (the 1935 Station Headquarters).The airfield was designated as a conservation area by Salisbury District Council in February 2007. An aviation museum opened in Hangar 1 in July 2012, after the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection relocated from the nearby Boscombe Down airfield.

Gomeldon is a small village in the valley of the River Bourne in Wiltshire, England, in the civil parish of Idmiston. It lies about 5 miles (8 km) north-east of Salisbury, between Winterbourne Gunner and Porton, and as of 2012 its population was estimated at about 200. There is a primary school and, although there is no station, the main railway line to London passes through the village.Gomeldon was a village in medieval times. Ten buildings on the ancient village site south-west of the school, between the modern village and the river, were excavated in the 1960s, and a report published by Salisbury Museum. The site of the deserted village is designated as a scheduled monument.In 1821 the population was 20, and in 1831 there were 48 inhabitants. In 1868 it was a small hamlet in the parish of Idmiston.

Salisbury City Football Club was an English football club based in Salisbury, Wiltshire. They were formed in 1947 and played at The Raymond McEnhill Stadium. Salisbury had gained back-to-back promotions in recent years, first to the Conference South in the 2005–06 season by finishing top of the Southern League Premier Division, followed by winning the play-off final in the 2006–07 season to participate in the Conference Premier in 2007–08. They played the 2010–11 season in the Southern League Premier Division after being demoted from the Conference Premier at the end of the 2009–10 season, but won promotion to the Conference South for the 2011–12 season in the first season following their relegation. The club spent two seasons in the Conference South before winning promotion to the Conference Premier via the play-offs in the 2012–13 season. In 2014, the club were removed from the Football Conference after failing to pay debts. The club reformed as Salisbury F.C. for the 2015–16 season.

The Raymond McEnhill Stadium is a purpose-built 5,000 capacity football stadium in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. It is the home of Salisbury Football Club and Salisbury F.C. Women.
