Whipton Hospital is a small community hospital, also known as the Exeter Community Hospital (Whipton). It was founded as the Whipton Isolation Hospital in 1913 as a pulmonary tuberculosis sanatorium as part of a network of such facilities, instigated by the Public Health (Tuberculosis Regulations) 1912.The hospital now offers satellite services for a number of local healthcare organisations including the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the Devon Partnership NHS Trust.

St Luke's Church of England School is a co-educational secondary school located in Exeter in the English county of Devon. It is a Church of England school under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Exeter. It was originally known as St Luke's Church of England High School, but when the school gained specialisms in science and sports it was renamed St Luke's Science and Sports College. In February 2020 St Luke's Science and Sports College converted from being a voluntary controlled school administered by Devon County Council to being an academy sponsored by The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust. It was then renamed St Luke's Church of England School. St Luke's Church of England School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils.

The Meteorological Office, abbreviated as the Met Office, is the United Kingdom's national weather service. It is an executive agency and trading fund of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and is led by CEO Penelope Endersby, who took on the role as Chief Executive in December 2018 and is the first woman to do so. St Peter's Church of England Aided School is one of Exeter's five state sector high schools. The school was awarded language college status in 2002. The current headteacher of the school is Phil Randall. The old school building was knocked down (September 2006). Since then, a new building managed by Carillion has been in use. Carillion was then taken over by Sodexo in 2015 for a 5-year contract. The school was formed by the amalgamation of Hele's School and Bishop Blackall School in 1983.

Whipton Barton was an estate farm to the East of Exeter. The 'Barton' suffix is the traditional Devon wording for the manor house, and indicates a demesne in the feudal system. Whilst the house and farm no longer exist, they have given their name to an area of Exeter.

The site is a few hundred metres to the west of the Whipton Hospital (formerly the Whipton Isolation Hospital).

St James School is a mixed secondary school located in Exeter in the English county of Devon.Previously a foundation school administered by Devon County Council, in May 2016 St James School was converted to academy status. The school is now part of the Ted Wragg Trust, but continues to coordinate with Devon County Council for admissions. The school moved into new buildings in February 2006.St James School offers GCSEs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. The school also has specialisms in mathematics and computing.

Digby was a hamlet on the eastern edge of the city of Exeter in Devon, England, located by Clyst Heath. Between 1886 and 1987 it was the location of Exeter Lunatic Asylum, later known as Digby Hospital. Today it is mainly an area of housing, out-of-town retail and light industrial developments on the outskirts of the city, served by Digby and Sowton railway station.

The Honeylands, originally the Honeylands Children's Sanatorium and later the Honeylands Children's Centre was a hospital in Exeter, Devon used as a children's pulmonary tuberculosis sanatorium, later used for treatment of children with learning difficulties. Adults were treated at the nearby Whipton Hospital.
