Bryncoch

Bryncoch North is an electoral ward of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales forming part of the parish of Blaenhonddan. Bryncoch North covers some or all of the following Areas: Bryncoch and Gilfach in the parliamentary constituency of Neath. It is bounded by the wards of Allt-Wen and Rhos to the north; Cadoxton to the east; Bryncoch South to the south and Dyffryn to the west. Bryncoch North consists of a built up residential area to the south and several farms which make up most of the central and northern part of the ward. Bryncoch South is an electoral ward of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales forming part of the parish of Blaenhonddan. The ward elects two county councillors to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. Bryncoch South covers some or all of the following areas: Bryncoch, Caewern and Rhydding in the parliamentary constituency of Neath. Bryncoch South is an almost completely developed ward. It is bounded by the wards of Bryncoch North to the north; Cadoxton to the east; Neath North to the southeast; and Dyffryn to the southwest. In the 2012 local council elections, the electorate turnout was 37.25%. The results were: In the 2017 local council elections, the results were: Councillor Dudley has represented the seat since 2004. While performing her duties as Mayor of Neath Port Talbot in August 2017 she was taken ill and died. A by-election was held on 23 November 2017 and the results were:

Cadoxton (or in full Cadoxton-juxta-Neath) (Welsh: Llangatwg), is a village situated in Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. Cadoxton is located just outside the town of Neath and borders the villages of Cilfrew and Bryncoch. The village has 1,684 residents and is located in the Cadoxton ward. Cadoxton elected a Liberal Democrat representative in the 2008 council elections.

Cwrt Herbert, also sometimes called Court Herbert, is a small community to the east of Neath Abbey in south Wales It developed as a mining village servicing the Cwrt Herbert Colliery in the mid 19th century The colliery closed in 1929 and the village is now predominantly a dormitory for the town of Neath. A Roman fort named Nidum was found in the village, and is now mostly within the ground of Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School.

Grŵp Colegau NPTC Group of Colleges is a further education college which was formed following the merger of Neath Port Talbot College and Coleg Powys on 1 August 2013.The college offers a programme of full-time, part-time, and higher education courses across its 8 campuses in Wales.

Dyffryn Clydach is a community of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales, between Neath and Swansea.

Neath Port Talbot College (NPTC) was a further education institution established as two campuses in Port Talbot and Neath in Wales, United Kingdom. The college allowed study of many courses including GCSEs, AS Level/A levels, AGCEs, AVCEs, Adult Lifelong Learning Services, GNVQs at both Foundation and Intermediate levels. Neath Port Talbot College also offered higher education courses or HND/Cs in various subjects related to their AVCE/AGCE courses, notably in Computing, Health & Social Care, Hospitality and Childcare. After the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot was formed in 1996, plans were put through to merge the Afan College and Neath College as one. In 1997 this was achieved under the name of Neath Port Talbot College. In August 2013 Neath Port Talbot College merged with Coleg Powys to become NPTC Group.

Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School (Welsh: Ysgol Gyfun Dŵr-y-Felin) is a comprehensive school in the Cwrt Herbert community of the town of Neath in South Wales, Wales. The school badge shows a watermill and mill stream in reference to the school name, in English 'water of the mill' or 'mill stream'. The badge also uses the acronym DCS to represent Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School.

Nidum (or NIDVM) is a Roman fort found in Cwrt Herbert near the town of Neath, in Wales. An Auxiliary fort first built in around 74AD from earth banks and wooden structures, it underwent a reduction in size from 3.3 to 2.3 hectares (8 to 6 acres) soon afterwards. It may have been garrisoned by perhaps 500 Auxiliary troops. It was abandoned in around 125AD, but re-occupied around 140AD when it was rebuilt in stone. However it was only occupied until 170AD, with 100 years of disuse before a final period in use from AD 275 and 320.

Blaenhonddan is a community of the Neath Port Talbot county borough, south Wales. The community has its own community council and comprises some or all of the following areas: Aberdulais, Bryncoch, Cilfrew and Cadoxton. The community covers the electoral wards of Bryncoch North, Bryncoch South and Cadoxton. The population of the community taken at the 2011 census was 12,151.

The A4230 is a suburban main road in south Wales. The A4230 is a single carriageway road for its whole length. It begins at the Peniel Green roundabout (junction with the M4 motorway and the A48) in the far east of Llansamlet. It travels east through the Lonlas area of Skewen before passing through central Skewen, after which it traverses the Neath Abbey area before connecting with the A474 at the Cwrt Herbert roundabout in Dyffryn Clydach. It then follows the same road as the A474 along Neath Abbey Road then though Cadoxton until it connects with the A465 just south of Aberdulais.

The Skewen Dram Road was a 3 miles (5 km) long mining railway near Skewen in Wales with a gauge of 2 feet 7+1⁄2 inches (800 mm).
