Neath Abbey (Welsh: Abaty Nedd) was a Cistercian monastery, located near the present-day town of Neath in South Wales, UK. It was once the largest abbey in Wales. Substantial ruins can still be seen, and are in the care of Cadw. Tudor historian John Leland called Neath Abbey "the fairest abbey of all Wales." Neath Abbey is also the name of an area of Neath near to the abbey ruins.

Neath Abbey railway station served the town of Neath, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1863 to 1936 on the Vale of Neath Railway.

Nation Radio Wales is a regional radio station, broadcasting to south and west Wales on FM and across Wales on DAB. It is owned and operated by Nation Broadcasting and broadcasts from studios near the St Hilary transmitter on the outskirts of Cowbridge.The station's music playlist originally consisted of new and classic guitar-led music, reflecting the franchise won originally by XFM, but in 2015, the format was changed to a broader format including mainstream pop music. As of September 2023, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 150,000, according to RAJAR.

Cwrt Herbert, also sometimes called Court Herbert, is a small community to the east of Neath Abbey in south Wales It developed as a mining village servicing the Cwrt Herbert Colliery in the mid 19th century The colliery closed in 1929 and the village is now predominantly a dormitory for the town of Neath. A Roman fort named Nidum was found in the village, and is now mostly within the ground of Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School.

The Neath Abbey television relay station is sited on a hill north of the town of Neath. It was originally built in the 1980s as a fill-in relay for UHF analogue television serving the parts of the town of Neath to its east with its vertically polarised signal, and the parts of the town to its northwest with its horizontally polarised signal. This is an unusual layout, chosen to avoid signal degradation from reflections off the cliffs to the north. The site consists of a 12 m self-supporting lattice mast standing on land which is itself about 80 m above sea level. The Neath Abbey transmission station is owned and operated by Arqiva. Neath Abbey transmitter re-radiates the signal received off-air from Kilvey Hill about 10 km to the southwest. When it came, the digital switchover process for Neath Abbey duplicated the timing at the parent station, with the first stage taking place on Wednesday 12 August 2009 and the second stage was completed on Wednesday 9 September 2009, with the Kilvey Hill transmitter-group becoming the first in Wales to complete digital switchover. After the switchover process, analogue channels had ceased broadcasting permanently and the Freeview digital TV services were radiated at an ERP of 10 W each.

Nidum (or NIDVM) is a Roman fort found in Cwrt Herbert near the town of Neath, in Wales. An Auxiliary fort first built in around 74AD from earth banks and wooden structures, it underwent a reduction in size from 3.3 to 2.3 hectares (8 to 6 acres) soon afterwards. It may have been garrisoned by perhaps 500 Auxiliary troops. It was abandoned in around 125AD, but re-occupied around 140AD when it was rebuilt in stone. However it was only occupied until 170AD, with 100 years of disuse before a final period in use from AD 275 and 320.

Grŵp Colegau NPTC Group of Colleges is a further education college which was formed following the merger of Neath Port Talbot College and Coleg Powys on 1 August 2013.The college offers a programme of full-time, part-time, and higher education courses across its 8 campuses in Wales.

Neath Port Talbot College (NPTC) was a further education institution established as two campuses in Port Talbot and Neath in Wales, United Kingdom. The college allowed study of many courses including GCSEs, AS Level/A levels, AGCEs, AVCEs, Adult Lifelong Learning Services, GNVQs at both Foundation and Intermediate levels. Neath Port Talbot College also offered higher education courses or HND/Cs in various subjects related to their AVCE/AGCE courses, notably in Computing, Health & Social Care, Hospitality and Childcare. After the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot was formed in 1996, plans were put through to merge the Afan College and Neath College as one. In 1997 this was achieved under the name of Neath Port Talbot College. In August 2013 Neath Port Talbot College merged with Coleg Powys to become NPTC Group.

Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School (Welsh: Ysgol Gyfun Dŵr-y-Felin) is a comprehensive school in the Cwrt Herbert community of the town of Neath in South Wales, Wales. The school badge shows a watermill and mill stream in reference to the school name, in English 'water of the mill' or 'mill stream'. The badge also uses the acronym DCS to represent Dwr-y-Felin Comprehensive School.

The Skewen Dram Road was a 3 miles (5 km) long mining railway near Skewen in Wales with a gauge of 2 feet 7+1⁄2 inches (800 mm).
