Daniel Boone Native Gardens, located in Boone, North Carolina, United States, has a collection of North Carolina native plants in an informal landscaped design. The gardens are open daily from May to October.

Hickory Ridge History Museum is a history museum centered around the Colonial era in Boone, North Carolina located adjacent to the ''Horn In The West'' Outdoor Drama. The museum's motto is "Keeping Yesterday For Tomorrow". The museum is a non-profit operation run by the Southern Appalachian Historical Association. The museum is currently composed of six historic cabins, complete with authentic artifacts and furnishings, set in a park. The oldest cabin is the Tatum Cabin which was originally located in Todd, North Carolina. The Tatum Cabin is dated around the time of the end of the American Revolution. The Coffey House is another cabin at the museum; it dates to around the beginning of the 1800s. There are several other cabins at the museum: a WPA cabin built during the 1930s and a cabin that is set up as a tavern. The staff dress in period clothing and provide the history of the structures and demonstrate the lifestyles of colonial settlers in the region. Some the activities demonstrated by the volunteers include: spinning, weaving, cooking traditional food over an open fire, blacksmithing, tomahawk throwing, candle dipping, shooting black-powder guns, basket weaving and more.

Boone is a town in and the county seat of Watauga County, North Carolina, United States. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, Boone is the home of Appalachian State University and the headquarters for the disaster and medical relief organization Samaritan's Purse. The population was 19,092 at the 2020 census.The town is named for famous American pioneer and explorer Daniel Boone, and every summer from 1952 (except 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) has hosted an outdoor amphitheatre drama, Horn in the West, portraying the British settlement of the area during the American Revolutionary War and featuring the contributions of its namesake. It is the largest community and the economic hub of the seven-county region of Western North Carolina known as the High Country.

The George M. Holmes Convocation Center (usually referred to as the Holmes Center) is an 8,325-seat multipurpose arena in Boone, North Carolina, United States, on the campus of Appalachian State University. The convocation center is named for George M. Holmes, a 1954 graduate and member of the North Carolina General Assembly. The arena itself is named for Seby Jones. It was built in 2000 and is home to four athletic teams: Appalachian State Mountaineers men's basketball, Appalachian State Mountaineers women's basketball, volleyball, and indoor track and field. The inaugural event was a men's basketball game held on November 17, 2000 between the Mountaineers and the Tar Heels of North Carolina. The facility replaced Varsity Gymnasium. The George M. Holmes Convocation Center’s Mission is to provide facilities for the Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science and to support the academic processes of Appalachian State University. Serving as a multipurpose for the northwestern region of North Carolina, the center supports university sponsored events, such as commencement and college fair. Cultural events, concerts, trade shows, athletic events and other public assembly activities are also a part of the center’s programming. In 2017 and 2018, it was home to the High Country Grizzlies, a professional indoor football team.

Red Lackey Field was a baseball and athletics field at Appalachian State University. The field was renamed Red Lackey Field in 1987 and originally in the current location of Durham Park and Holmes Convocation Center. Pictures of Lackey Field date back to the early 1950s. Red Lackey Field was named for E. G. Lackey, who graduated from Appalachian State in 1937, and served on the Board of Trustees for eighteen years. The Mountaineers began playing at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium in 2007.

Appalachian State University (; Appalachian, App State, App, or ASU) is a public university in Boone, North Carolina. It was founded as a teachers college in 1899 by brothers B. B. and D. D. Dougherty and the latter's wife, Lillie Shull Dougherty. The university expanded to include other programs in 1967 and joined the University of North Carolina System in 1971.The university enrolls more than 20,600 students. It offers more than 150 bachelor's degrees and 70 graduate degree programs, including two doctoral programs. The university has 8 colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the Walker College of Business, the Reich College of Education, the College of Fine and Applied Arts, the Beaver College of Health Sciences, the Honors College, the Hayes School of Music, and University College. In addition to its campus in Boone, it will open an additional campus in Hickory, North Carolina in Fall 2023The Athletic Teams compete in the Sun Belt Conference, except for a few sports which compete in the Southern Conference, such as wrestling. The teams are known as the Mountaineers.

Varsity Gymnasium is an 8,000 seat multi-purpose arena in Boone, North Carolina. It opened in 1968 and was home to the Appalachian State Mountaineers basketball teams until the Holmes Center opened in 2000. The gym is currently home to the wrestling program. It is also home to the dance studios of the Appalachian State University Department of Theatre and Dance, part of the College of Fine and Applied Arts, as well as the ROTC program.

Kidd Brewer Stadium is a 30,000-seat multi-purpose stadium located in Boone, North Carolina. Nicknamed "The Rock," the stadium is the home of the Appalachian State Mountaineers football team. Kidd Brewer stands 3,333 feet (1,016 m) above sea level. The Mountaineers boast a 263–77–5 (.770) home record at the stadium.

The Daniel Boone Hotel was a hotel and dining facility located in downtown Boone, Watauga County, North Carolina.

The Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music is part of Appalachian State University. A fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the Hayes School of Music offers undergraduate programs in music education, music performance, theory/composition, sacred music performance, music therapy, and music industry studies as well as Master of Music degrees in performance, music education, and music therapy. Particularly distinguished for its music performance, music education, and music therapy programs, the Hayes School of Music draws students and faculty from across the United States and the world. Through summer workshops and specialized course offerings (e.g. the North Carolina Summer Institute of Choral Arts), the Hayes School of Music is engaged in year-round activities. In addition, the school also sponsors the Cannon Music Camp, an annual comprehensive summer music camp that trains younger, high-school-age musicians. The current dean is Dr. James Douthit, and the associate dean is Dr. Jay Jackson. The Hayes school of music is housed within the Broyhill Music Center, a 90,000+ square foot complex located on main campus off of Rivers Street.

Jones House is a historic home located at Boone, Watauga County, North Carolina. It was built in 1908, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, cubic, Colonial Revival / Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It has a two-story rear extension and projecting bays. The front facade features a hipped roof single-story porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

US Post Office-Boone is a historic post office building located at Boone, Watauga County, North Carolina. It was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under Louis A. Simon and built in 1938. It is a steel framed stone building on a raised stone foundation in the Colonial Revival style. It consists of a five bay by two bay main block with a three bay service block. The building features Doric order pilasters at the entry and an octagonal lantern on the roof ridge with paired Tuscan order columns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
