Tanglewood Park Arboretum and Rose Garden

Tanglewood Park is a recreation center and park in Clemmons, Forsyth County, North Carolina, USA. It is located on the Yadkin River between Clemmons and Bermuda Run. It is home to the annual "Tanglewood Festival of Lights," a display of lights in the wintertime celebrating the holidays. Additional attractions include the Tanglewood Park Arboretum and Rose Garden, a public pool, a dog park, horse stables, and Mallard Lake for fishing and paddleboat renting. Tanglewood has two golf courses, the Championship Course (designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.) and the Reynolds Course. The former hosted the PGA Championship in 1974, won by Lee Trevino, with Jack Nicklaus one stroke back.

The 1974 PGA Championship was the 56th PGA Championship, played August 8–11 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, North Carolina, a suburb southwest of Winston-Salem. Lee Trevino won the first of his two PGA Championships, one stroke ahead of defending champion Jack Nicklaus. It was the fifth of Trevino's six major titles and Nicklaus was the runner-up to Trevino in a major for the fourth and final time. It was the first year since 1969 in which Nicklaus did not win a major championship, but he regained the title the following year. Three-time champion Sam Snead, age 62, finished tied for third for his third consecutive top ten finish in the event. It was the final major in which he was in contention, his next best finish was a tie for 42nd at the PGA Championship in 1979. Gary Player's bid to win three majors in 1974 came up short in the final round; the winner of the Masters and Open Championship finished four strokes back at even par, in seventh place. Trevino used a putter he found in a friend's attic only days before and had only one three-putt, on the 71st hole. Tanglewood is a county-owned facility in Forsyth County.This championship coincided with the resignation of President Nixon, who left office on Friday.

Clemmonsville Township is one of fifteen townships in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 14,927 according to the 2010 census.Geographically, Clemmonsville Township occupies 18.60 square miles (48.2 km2) in southwestern Forsyth County. The only incorporated municipality in Clemmonsville Township is the village of Clemmons. The township fronts the Yadkin River on its western boundary.

Win-Mock Farm Dairy is a historic dairy complex located at Bermuda Run, Davie County, North Carolina, USA. The complex was built about 1930 and includes a dairy barn, bottling plant, granary, cistern and water trough. The barn is a two-story frame building that measures 38 feet, 3 inches, in width by 180 feet in length. It has a concrete foundation, wood German-siding and a Gothic arch roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. In 2010, Sterling Events Group took ownership of the vacant property and set forth on an extensive restoration plan to breathe new life into it. In the following year, WinMock opened its freshly painted doors as a new place to hold events. It retains the authentic craftsmanship of the original building, now fitted with the convenience and impact of modern technology. The property's name came from its central location between Winston-Salem and Mocksville, North Carolina. The barn has a cavernous loft originally designed to hold over 7,000 bales of hay.

Bermuda Run is a town in Davie County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the town was 3,120. It was incorporated in 1999 as a fully gated residential community near country clubs and golf courses like the Bermuda Run Country Club, Oak Valley Golf Club, and Tanglewood Park. In 2000, the town annexed into neighboring Hillsdale, picking up a commercial district. The town rests on the western bank of the Yadkin River along U.S. Route 158 and North Carolina Highway 801. Interstate 40 provides express access to Winston-Salem, the town's nearest urban center. In 2012, Kinderton Village was voluntarily annexed by the town of Bermuda Run.

Hillsdale is an unincorporated community in Davie County, North Carolina, United States. It borders Bermuda Run to the northwest and is located along U.S. Route 158 near its intersection with NC 801. Interstate 40 passes through Hillsdale and is accessed by the NC 801 interchange (exit 180). The community is often considered a part of Advance or Bermuda Run. Hillsdale is also considered a suburb of Winston-Salem. Neighboring communities and municipalities include: Clemmons, Advance, Bermuda Run, Mocksville, Lewisville and Yadkinville.

The Jesse Helms Center, located in Wingate, North Carolina and named for its founder, U.S. Senator Jesse Helms, is a repository of Helms' papers, letters, speeches, transcripts of his televised editorials for WRAL-TV, books of faith, and a replica of his Senate desk and office. There are also campaign materials, such as polling information, walled editorial cartoons, and advertisements.Since 1995, the President of the Jesse Helms Center has been John Dodd. The organization is governed by a board of directors. The Helms Center was established in 1994, after Helms rejected requests that his papers be left to an Ivy League university. He instead deposited the material with his home-county Wingate University, a private institution which he had once attended. In 2001, the center opened as a 3.3 million, two-story brick and glass structure situated next to the Wingate Town Hall.The Helms Center hosts a center-sponsored lecture series with such notable participants as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, former United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and the Dalai Lama of Tibet.The center sponsors the annual Helms Foreign Relations School, which consists of two days of classes held near Washington, D.C. Helms and Nathaniel Macon, who is honored with an exhibit at the Helms Center, are the only North Carolina senators ever to chair the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Advance (pronounced with the stress on the first syllable) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Davie County, North Carolina, United States. It is seventy-five miles northeast of Charlotte. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,138. It is located along North Carolina Highway 801 just south of Bermuda Run. Advance is part of the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina.

The Old German Baptist Brethren Church, also known as Fraternity Church, Old Order Church, and Old Fraternity Church, is a historic German Baptist Brethren church located near Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The original section was built in 1860, and is a one-story, front-gable-roofed, heavy-timber-frame meetinghouse. Two frame additions were added to the rear in 1942 and in 1950.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Hampton House is a historic home located near Arcadia, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built about 1879, and is a two-story, three-bay, frame I-house of simple Greek Revival style. The 1+1⁄2-story rear wing is of log construction and dates to the early-19th century. It was attached to the main block at the time of its construction in 1879. Also on the property is a contributing pegged frame granary.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
