Sheridan Correctional Center

Sheridan is a village in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, the village's population was 2,431, up from 2,137 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ottawa Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Somonauk Creek is a tributary of the Fox River, which it joins in the Northville Township part of Sheridan, Illinois, United States. Somonauk Creek is approximately 36 miles (58 km) in length, and its source is 3.5 mi (6 km) north of Waterman. It has been dammed to form Lake Holiday, south of the village of Somonauk. The lake is the second lake in the City of Sandwich, with the first, Lake Davis, having been drained in the early 1900s to create usable farmland. The community later needed a lake to replace the one it lost, so in agreement with the Village of Somonauk, the community decided to place a dam on Somonauk Creek to form the new lake. The lake was marketed to the suburbs of Chicago as a recreation spot, with the community later making it a permanent subdivision, with housing located around the whole lake.

Mission Township is located in LaSalle County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,972 and it contained 1,083 housing units.

Northville is an unincorporated community in Northville Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. Northville is located on County Highway 2 and North 4325th Road. The Fox River is just south of the community, and once formed the southern boundary of the town.Canadian Benjamin Lett, known as the "Rob Roy" of Canada, lived on his family's farm in Northville, in the 1850s. He is buried at Lett Cemetery, near Northville.

Northville Township is located in LaSalle County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 7,410 and it contained 3,143 housing units.

Millington is a village in Kendall and LaSalle counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 617 at the 2020 census, down from 665 at the 2010 census.The Kendall County portion of Millington is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Joliet Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the LaSalle County portion is part of the Ottawa Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Lake Holiday is a census-designated place located on Lake Holiday in Northville Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. Its population was 5,687 as of the 2020 census. The homes on the western banks of the lake are served by the Somonauk Fire Department/EMS and the Somonauk School District, while the eastern banks of the lake are covered by Sandwich municipal services (Fire/EMS, CUSD 430). However, due to the community's location south of the LaSalle-DeKalb county line, neither Sandwich Police nor Somonauk Police have any jurisdiction. Instead, the area is patrolled by local security, which has limited authority. For serious matters, the community is covered by the LaSalle County Sheriff's Department, which has a substation in the Northville Township Building, a few miles to the south of Lake Holiday.The Lake Holiday CDP includes the neighborhoods surrounding Lake Holiday as well as neighboring Wildwood, which sits to the east of County Highway 3. Lake Holiday was created in the mid-1960s as a lake resort community, with its property owners association being incorporated on July 2, 1965. Wildwood was created around the same time, as a modular home community just across the highway. Starting in the early 1990s, an annex to Wildwood known as "Wildwood South" or "New Wildwood" was created, with completion around 2002. Both subdivisions share a gas station and a small retail area, with a restaurant having been built in 2006-2007 farther north, just south of the county line. Lake Holiday was created by damming up Somonauk Creek in 1965, on its path south toward its confluence with the Fox River just north of Sheridan.

WDYS (1480 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting a soft oldies and adult standards format. Licensed to Somonauk, Illinois, it serves DeKalb County and the Fox Valley, suburbs west of Chicago. It is owned by Nelson Multimedia Inc., with programming coming from Westwood One's "America's Best Music" service. WDYS is powered at 250 watts by day, and only 10 watts at night. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator W268DB at 101.5 MHz, licensed to Yorkville. The studios and transmitter are on Frazier Road in Plano.

Newark is a village in Kendall County, Illinois, United States. The population was 992 at the 2010 census, up from 887 at the 2000 census.

Newark Community High School is a public high school serving students from LaSalle, Kendall, and Grundy counties in Illinois. It is located in the town of Newark, in Kendall County. In the 2018–2019 school year, there was an enrollment of 161 students in grades 9–12.

Somonauk is a village in DeKalb and LaSalle Counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 1,786 at the 2020 Census, down from 1,893 at the 2010 Census. The DeKalb County portion of Somonauk is part of the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the small portion that lies in LaSalle County is part of the Ottawa, IL Micropolitan Statistical Area.
