Waltham Highlands station

The Prospect House is a historic building located at 11 Hammond Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. Built in 1839, this temple-front Greek Revival structure was originally a hotel and tavern, and is one of only a few surviving 19th century hotel buildings in the city. Now an apartment house, the building has four two-story fluted Doric columns supporting a pedimented gable, with a second-story porch behind the columns. Early pedimented dormers have been linked together in later alterations.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Lord's Castle is a historic house at 211 Hammond Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. Rufus Lord built the home in 1886 on property purchased from Oel Farnsworth. Lord, who owned a prominent construction business in Waltham, was known for his work on the Company F State Armory at Sharon and Curtis Streets.The 2+1⁄2-story masonry house was built as a private residence inspired by Norman castles. Its most prominent feature is a large three-story circular tower with extensive corbelling and crenellations, details that are repeated on the main block of the house. It reportedly took Lord ten years to complete.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Gale–Banks House is a historic house at 935 Main Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. This farmhouse was built c. 1798, and is one of the finest Federal style houses in the city. It is also significant for its association with Waltham native son, Governor of Massachusetts, and general of the American Civil War, Nathaniel Prentice Banks, who purchased it in 1855 and made it is home until his death in 1894. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The U.S. Post Office—Waltham Main is a historic post office building in Waltham, Massachusetts. The T-shaped brick and stone building was built in 1935, as part of a Works Progress Administration project during the Great Depression. The Classical Revival building was designed by the Boston firm of Wadsworth, Hubbard & Smith. The interior is of a layout typical of other period post offices, with a central lobby area flanked by the postmaster's office on the left and a work area on the right. This public area is faced in a variety of stone products, predominantly marble from a variety of sources.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Charles Street Workers' Housing Historic District is a residential historic district at 128–144 Charles Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. It consists of four houses on a single city block, all of which are well-preserved vernacular worker houses built in 1865. They are representative of the city's growth of the period, and typify housing built for the city's laborers. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Benjamin F. Clough House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. Built c. 1855, the 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house is one a few temple-front Greek Revival houses in the city. Although it has retained Ionic columns supporting its two-level porch and front gable, it has lost other details, including paneled piers on which the columns rested, as well as Colonial Revival corner brackets. The Palladian window in the front gable end is also a Colonial Revival addition, recently modified with modern sashes. Benjamin Clough, the owner, operated a shoe manufactory at the back of the property. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Christ Church is a historic Episcopal church at 750 Main Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. The church is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, and was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The church was founded in 1848, but a local hall was used for services until a wooden church was built in 1849. The wooden structure eventually proved inadequate and a larger church designed by Peabody and Stearns was built of local fieldstone at the current location between 1897 and 1898. The church contains stained glass windows produced by several noteworthy manufacturers, including Clayton and Bell, Charles Connick, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and Donald MacDonald. Eight rectors have served the church since its founding.

The United States Watch Company is a historic factory complex at 260 Charles Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. Built in 1886 and enlarged in 1901, it represents one of the most successful spinoffs of the American Waltham Watch Company, Waltham's dominant watchmaker of the late 19th century. When the complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, it was the last watch factory left in the city.
