Seven Lochs Wetland Park

Gartloch () is a residential village in Glasgow, Scotland. Outwith the city's urban area (the closest contiguous district being Easterhouse), it is very close to the boundary with North Lanarkshire, south of Garnkirk and west of Gartcosh. To the south is Bishop Loch, a nature reserve and the body of water referred to in the village name, which forms part of the Seven Lochs Wetland Park. Much of the new village was created by the renovation of several of the buildings that made up Gartloch Hospital (also known as Gartloch Asylum) which opened in 1896 and closed in 1996. New houses have also been built in the surrounding area. Gartloch is within driving distance – about 1+1⁄2 miles or 2.5 kilometres – from the Glasgow Fort cinema and retail park complex on the periphery of the Glasgow urban area at Garthamlock next to Junction 10 of the M8 motorway, and is around the same distance in the opposite direction from Junction 2A of the M73 motorway and Gartcosh railway station.

Gartloch Hospital was a mental health facility located on Gartloch Road near the village of Gartcosh, Scotland. It opened in 1896 and was officially closed in 1996. It was managed by NHS Greater Glasgow.

St. Leonard's Secondary School (The Lenny) was a Catholic, mixed-sex, comprehensive secondary school located in Easterhouse, Glasgow. It was permanently closed in 1998 to pupils, and soon after was demolished. On the same ground now stands St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Primary School. The majority of pupils were relocated to St Andrew's Secondary.

Lochend Community High School is a non-denominational, coeducational, state secondary school in the Easterhouse area of Glasgow. The school is within the local authority of Glasgow City Council.The school teaches pupils across all secondary stages from S1 to S6, and has the capacity to accommodate up to 850 pupils. With a current pupil roll of approximately 450, it is one of the smaller secondary schools in the city. There are approximately 40 members of teaching and non-teaching staff based at the school. The headteacher is Mr David Macarthur

Easterhouse is a suburb of Glasgow, Scotland, 6 miles (10 km) east of the city centre on land gained from the county of Lanarkshire as part of an expansion of Glasgow before the Second World War. The area is on high ground north of the River Clyde and south of the River Kelvin and Campsie Fells. Building began in the mid-1950s to provide better housing for people in the East End living in sub-standard conditions. At the 2001 Census, its population was 26,495.Neighbourhoods of Easterhouse include Provanhall, Kildermorie, Lochend, Rogerfield and Commonhead, as well as Wellhouse, Easthall and Queenslie which are separated from the other parts by the M8 motorway running east–west through the area. The nearby communities of Barlanark, Craigend, Cranhill, Garthamlock and Ruchazie were constructed using the same building principles and have suffered from similar problems.

Garnkirk is a settlement in North Lanarkshire, located a mile (1.5 km) southwest of Muirhead. It is located 10 km northeast of Glasgow's city centre and 23 km southwest of Falkirk. Garnkirk is connected via the nearby motorways M8, M73 and M80. This provides access to Cumbernauld, Glasgow and Stirling. The nearest modern railway stations are in Gartcosh and Stepps.

Muirhead is a small town approximately 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Glasgow city centre. Nearby villages and towns include Chryston, Garnkirk, Gartcosh, Moodiesburn, Lenzie and Stepps. Muirhead has a population of around 1,390. It is a commuter town to Glasgow with road links with the A80/M80 and frequent bus services the 37c x35, x37, and x3. Muirhead is located approximately two miles from Gartcosh, Lenzie and Stepps railway stations.

Easterhouse railway station serves the Easterhouse area of Glasgow, Scotland. It was built by the North British Railway as part of their Coatbridge Branch and opened when the branch opened on 1 February 1871. The station is 5¾ miles (9 km) east of Glasgow Queen Street railway station on the North Clyde Line and is managed by ScotRail.

Provanhall is a neighbourhood of Easterhouse in east Glasgow, Scotland. It is named after the estate and medieval house, Provan Hall.The area is to the immediate east of Provan Hall and Glasgow Fort shopping centre and to the north of Shandwick Square Shopping Centre. The area is bounded by Gartloch fields, part of Glasgow's greenbelt with North Lanarkshire. Part of the estate was built on the remains of Provan Loch, part of the kettle ponds in the area that feed the Molendinar burn that flows into the River Clyde in Glasgow.

Heart Scotland is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global as part of the Heart network. The station relaunched as Heart on 6 May 2014, serving central and southern Scotland from studios in Glasgow city centre. Heart Scotland originally broadcast as Scot FM until 2001, when Guardian Media Group bought the station, leading to a relaunch as Real Radio Scotland. Global Radio acquired GMG Radio on 25 June 2012, but operated Real Radio in a "hold separate" situation known as Real and Smooth Ltd, which ended on 1 April 2014.

Swinton is an eastern suburb of the Scottish city of Glasgow, north of the areas of Baillieston and Garrowhill and east of Springhill. It is now concurrent with the 19th century Easterhouse village (whereas the large housing scheme of the same name lies across the M8 motorway to the north of Swinton). The hamlet of Swinton began to emerge with the building of cotton hand loom weavers' cottages in the early 1790s. A housing development was constructed in the 1920s, with more in the 1970s, but most of the current neighbourhood was built from the 1990s onwards. Easterhouse railway station gives direct access to the centre of Glasgow and regular local bus services run along Edinburgh Road to the south of the district. Swinton Primary School serves the local area (and Springhill), and from here pupils attend Bannerman High School in Baillieston.

Springhill is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated north of the River Clyde on the eastern edge of the city, north of the areas of Baillieston and Garrowhill and west of Swinton.Springhill consists mainly of semi-detached and detached family houses built in the 1990s, as well as Glasgow Business Park, a partly-completed industrial and commercial estate near to the neighbourhoods of Barlanark and Easthall, which features the local DVSA driving test centre and a 4-metre high landmark wire sculpture of a Clydesdale Horse by Andy Scott, who has other works on display in the vicinity - a phoenix in Easterhouse and a group of sirens at the water tower in Cranhill. The district has a few local shops as well as a pub/restaurant, but most other amenities are located in Baillieston or Easterhouse. Easterhouse railway station gives direct access to the centre of Glasgow and regular local bus services run along Edinburgh Road to the south of the district. Springhill can be accessed from the M8 motorway, using junctions 9 or 10. Sandaig Primary School and St Bridget's Primary School serve the local area, and from here pupils attend St Ambrose High School Coatbridge, and Bannerman High School.
