Waterbury Center State Park

The Waterbury Center Methodist Church, now the Waterbury Center Community Church, is a historic church building in Waterbury Center, Vermont. Built in 1833, it is a prominent visual landmark in the village, and a good local example of Federal period church architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Waterbury Center is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 390.The CDP is in northwestern Washington County, east of the geographic center of the town of Waterbury, 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north of the main village of Waterbury. Vermont Route 100 runs through the west side of Waterbury Center, leading south to Interstate 89 at Waterbury village and north 6 miles (10 km) to Stowe. The community is bordered to the west by Waterbury Center State Park, on the east arm of Waterbury Reservoir, an impoundment on the Little River, which flows south to the Winooski River west of Waterbury village.

Green Mountain Seminary is a historic seminary building on Hollow Road in Waterbury Center, Vermont. Built in 1869 as a Free Will Baptist coeducational school, it has seen educational uses since its construction, and is a prominent local example of Italianate architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Colby Mansion is a historic house on Vermont Route 100 in Waterbury, Vermont. It was built in 1870 by George J. Colby, a proponent of ideas of house construction for healthy living, and exhibits all of the major features of his published works. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

WDEV (550 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Waterbury, Vermont, United States. Programming is simulcast on WDEV-FM (96.1 MHz) licensed to Warren, Vermont. The stations' studios and offices are located near U.S. Route 2 in Waterbury. WDEV also operates two translator stations, W243AT (96.5 FM), licensed to Barre, Vermont, and W252CU (98.3 FM), licensed to Montpelier, Vermont. WDEV can also be heard on a privately owned translator, W270BR (101.9 FM), licensed to Island Pond, Vermont. The stations are owned by Radio Vermont, Inc., and air a full service radio format, including news, talk, sports and different genres of music.

Little River State Park is a campground state park on the 850-acre Waterbury Reservoir in Waterbury, Vermont. It is located in Mount Mansfield State Forest. Activities includes swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking, bicycling, wildlife watching, and winter sports.Facilities include 81 tent/trailer sites, 20 lean-tos, five cabins, restrooms with hot showers, and a dump station. Campers can enjoy swimming beaches, play areas, a boat launch, ball field, and boat rentals. There is a nature center, and park Interpreters offer programs including night hikes, campfire programs, amphibian explorations, and nature crafts and games. Waterbury Center State Park is a day-use park also located nearby on Waterbury Reservoir.

The Waterbury Dam was built between 1935-1938 by 2,000 men working for the Corps of Engineers, United States Army, to serve as one of three dams to control the flow of Little River, Vermont, Winooski River and its tributaries. In 1927, flood waters from the Winooski River killed over 55 people and caused an estimated $13,000,000 in damage. Along with flood control, the dam also generates electric energy, generating an average of 15,000,000 kilowatt-hours (54,000,000 MJ) annually. The 1,845 feet (562 m) long dam is filled with 2,200,000 cubic yards (1,700,000 m3) of material, including 3,490 cubic yards (2,668 m3) of clay in its center portion. The rocks, which serve as the dam's walls, were hand placed during the dam's original construction in 1938. The dam was modified in 1957 and 1958 to provide for increased security. The dam and the reservoir it creates, the Waterbury Reservoir, are located in the town of Waterbury in northwestern Washington County.

The Mill Village Historic District encompasses a small 19th-century industrial village on Stowe Street in Waterbury, Vermont. The area is a compact and somewhat isolated example of a mill village of the mid-19th century; it is roughly bounded by Stowe Street, Graves Brook, and the northbound offramp of Exit 10 from Interstate 89. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Waterbury station, also known as Waterbury–Stowe, is an Amtrak train station in Waterbury, Vermont, United States. It was originally built in 1875 by the Central Vermont Railroad.During 2006, the station underwent a major renovation project, during which the building was restored to its 1875 appearance. Corrective structural work was done on the trackside wall and canopy and water drainage problems were addressed. Workers also rebuilt the bell-shaped cupola on the top of the central tower. Inside, partitions were removed to expose the original 18-foot-high vaulted ceiling. Green Mountain Coffee now leases most of the space in the depot.

The Waterbury Village Historic District encompasses most of the central commercial and residential area of Waterbury, Vermont. Located along United States Route 2 and Stowe Street south of Thatcher Branch of the Winooski River, the sprawling village has been shaped by changes in transportation in the 19th and 20th centuries, and by key economic developments such as the founding of the Vermont State Hospital, which anchors the village's southern end. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
