Western Reserve Academy

Encore School for Strings, founded in 1985 by David and Linda Cerone, was the summer session of the Cleveland Institute of Music. It was located in Hudson, Ohio at the Western Reserve Academy. Encore had no minimum age requirement, though a taped audition was used to screen applicants. The music faculty was world-renowned, with teachers from top U.S. music schools including the Cleveland Institute of Music, Curtis Institute of Music, and the Colburn School.

Hudson is a city in northern Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 23,110 at the 2020 census. It is a suburban community in the Akron metropolitan area. John Brown made his first public vow to destroy slavery here and the city later became part of the Underground Railroad. The Village of Hudson and Hudson Township were formerly two separate governing entities that merged in 1994.

Hudson Township was one of the 16 original townships in Summit County, Ohio. When created, it occupied survey Range 10, Town 4 in the Connecticut Western Reserve and was about 25 square miles (65 km2) in area. Its first settlers were David Hudson and his party from Goshen, Connecticut in 1799. It was in the eastern part of Summit County, bordering Macedonia, Twinsburg Township, Streetsboro, Stow, Boston Township, and Boston Heights. The Village of Hudson, incorporated in 1837, was nearly surrounded by the township. No other municipalities expanded into Hudson Township via annexation. In 1994, Hudson Township and the village of Hudson merged to create the City of Hudson.

The Hudson Historic District is a historic district located in Hudson, Ohio. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Loomis Observatory (also known as the Elias Loomis Observatory) is the second oldest observatory in the United States, located in Hudson, Ohio. Construction was completed in 1838. It is on the campus of Western Reserve Academy, a college preparatory school. When the observatory was constructed the school was Western Reserve College, which later repaired to Cleveland and is now known as Case Western Reserve University. The Loomis Observatory is the oldest observatory in the United States still sitting in its original location. The oldest American observatory, the Hopkins Observatory at Williams College, also completed in 1838, has been relocated twice in its history. Under the influence and design of Professor Elias Loomis, who purchased the necessary instruments in England after studying in Europe, the observatory was built by architect Simeon Porter. The original Troughton & Simms equatorial telescope and Robert Molyneux-built astronomical clock remain in the observatory dating to 1837.An inscription on the historic marker reads: "Elias Loomis and Charles Augustus Young worked in this Observatory, built in 1838, the third to be erected in the United States, the second oldest standing (1926)." James Ellsworth restored the observatory in 1908, and it was again restored in 1963.

Hudson High School (HHS) is a public high school in Hudson, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Hudson City School District and is located on a 72-acre (29 ha) campus that has been developed to include a variety of athletic fields, such as six tennis courts, a lighted baseball field, track, and football stadium. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school has an enrollment of 1,631 students, mainly from Hudson and neighboring Boston Township. Athletic teams are known as the Explorers with school colors of navy blue and white, and compete in the Suburban League National Division.

Moran is a place in Portage County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is located in the western edge of Streetsboro, near its border with Hudson along Aurora Hudson Road.

Twinsburg Congregational Church is a historic church building on Twinsburg Public Square in Twinsburg, Ohio. The Greek Revival building was constructed in 1848 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The religious community that would later erect the First Congregational Church in Twinsburg in 1848 originally formed in 1822, and the members worshipped in various places for nearly a quarter century. The populating of Twinsburg preceded the organization of the church people by only half a decade. The church members used to meet in personal homes and the superior level of the gristmill at Old Mill Road and Ravenna Road prior to 1822. In 1822 the members congregated in a log school house constructed on the public square the same year. For a time later on, the church met in a frame church and school on the square, but the building did not survive because town government representatives concluded construction on the town square was illegal. In the 1830s another church building was constructed that was also near the square, but the current building in its present location was constructed in 1848. The charging for pews generated the funds to build the church, priced at $3,300. The church experienced a problem with the steeple when wind caused it to detach around 1856 or 1857, but it was repaired. People coming to church by horse constructed shelters for their animals at the back of the church's property, but these were dismantled in the mid-1920s and repurposed for storage. Eventually an addition for classrooms in 1954 replaced the storage area.

Twinsburg is a suburban city in Summit County, Ohio, United States, located midway between Akron and Cleveland. The population was 19,248 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area.
