Hudson Historic District (Ohio)

Hudson Township was one of the 16 original townships in Summit County, Ohio. When created, it occupied survey Range 10, Town 4 in the Connecticut Western Reserve and was about 25 square miles (65 km2) in area. Its first settlers were David Hudson and his party from Goshen, Connecticut in 1799. It was in the eastern part of Summit County, bordering Macedonia, Twinsburg Township, Streetsboro, Stow, Boston Township, and Boston Heights. The Village of Hudson, incorporated in 1837, was nearly surrounded by the township. No other municipalities expanded into Hudson Township via annexation. In 1994, Hudson Township and the village of Hudson merged to create the City of Hudson.

Hudson is a city in northern Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 23,110 at the 2020 census. It is a suburban community in the Akron metropolitan area. John Brown made his first public vow to destroy slavery here and the city later became part of the Underground Railroad. The Village of Hudson and Hudson Township were formerly two separate governing entities that merged in 1994.

Loomis Observatory (also known as the Elias Loomis Observatory) is the second oldest observatory in the United States, located in Hudson, Ohio. Construction was completed in 1838. It is on the campus of Western Reserve Academy, a college preparatory school. When the observatory was constructed the school was Western Reserve College, which later repaired to Cleveland and is now known as Case Western Reserve University. The Loomis Observatory is the oldest observatory in the United States still sitting in its original location. The oldest American observatory, the Hopkins Observatory at Williams College, also completed in 1838, has been relocated twice in its history. Under the influence and design of Professor Elias Loomis, who purchased the necessary instruments in England after studying in Europe, the observatory was built by architect Simeon Porter. The original Troughton & Simms equatorial telescope and Robert Molyneux-built astronomical clock remain in the observatory dating to 1837.An inscription on the historic marker reads: "Elias Loomis and Charles Augustus Young worked in this Observatory, built in 1838, the third to be erected in the United States, the second oldest standing (1926)." James Ellsworth restored the observatory in 1908, and it was again restored in 1963.

Western Reserve Academy (WRA), or simply Reserve, is a private, midsized, coeducational boarding and day college preparatory school located in Hudson, Ohio, United States. A boarding school, Western Reserve Academy is largely a residential campus, with 280 of 390 students living on campus and the remainder attending as day students. Students from over 20 states and 15 countries attend.

Encore School for Strings, founded in 1985 by David and Linda Cerone, was the summer session of the Cleveland Institute of Music. It was located in Hudson, Ohio at the Western Reserve Academy. Encore had no minimum age requirement, though a taped audition was used to screen applicants. The music faculty was world-renowned, with teachers from top U.S. music schools including the Cleveland Institute of Music, Curtis Institute of Music, and the Colburn School.

Hudson High School (HHS) is a public high school in Hudson, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Hudson City School District and is located on a 72-acre (29 ha) campus that has been developed to include a variety of athletic fields, such as six tennis courts, a lighted baseball field, track, and football stadium. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school has an enrollment of 1,631 students, mainly from Hudson and neighboring Boston Township. Athletic teams are known as the Explorers with school colors of navy blue and white, and compete in the Suburban League National Division.

The company is well known for producing heavy machinery.

Twinsburg Township is one of the nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 3,857 people in the township.

Moran is a place in Portage County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is located in the western edge of Streetsboro, near its border with Hudson along Aurora Hudson Road.

Boston Heights is a village in northern Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,402 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. Boston Heights is home to the headquarters of Arhaus, a major home furnishings retailer.

Twinsburg Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 999 at the 2020 census.

The Twinsburg Old School, also known as the "Old School" or the Twinsburg Center was built in 1921 for the Twinsburg City School District in Twinsburg, Ohio for the grades K-12, It was built 26 years after the Twinsburg Institute by Samuel Bissell in 1865. The school was a public, centralised School, open to citizens of Summit County and the citizens of Twinsburg. It was later demolished in April 2016 due to vacancy.
