The church was built in 1868 and is located southwest of the town of Cumming in rural Madison County, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Pope John Paul II visited the church while he was on his first pastoral visit to the United States in 1979.

The Miller Bridge is a historic structure, originally located northeast of Winterset, Iowa, United States. It spanned an unnamed stream for 128 feet (39 m). The Madison County Board of Supervisors contracted with King and Twiss of Des Moines to supply the wrought iron Pratt pony truss. Local contractors H.P. Jones and G.K. Foster built the iron tube substructure and erected the truss manufactured by the King Iron Bridge & Manufacturing Company of Cleveland. The total cost of the project was $2,197.55. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The span was moved in 2008.

Badger Creek State Recreation Area is a state recreation area in Madison County, Iowa, United States, near the city of Van Meter. The park covers over 700 acres (280 ha) of land and includes the 276-acre (112 ha) Badger Creek Lake. The lake has two boat ramps and multiple fishing jetties; fish living in the lake include bass, bluegill, catfish, and crappie. The entire recreation area is also open for hunting.The recreation area is known for its annual sunflower field. The field, which is located in a different spot each year, is planted in spring and typically blooms in July or August. In addition to attracting visitors and photographers, the flowers bring deer and birds into the recreation area before the fall hunting season.

Badger Creek is a creek in Madison, Webster and Humboldt counties, Iowa, in the United States. It is a tributary of the Des Moines River. Badger Creek was so named from a badger who fought a dog at the creek.

KICP (105.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to Patterson, Iowa. KICP serves the Central Iowa-Des Moines area. A sale of KICP and sister station KICL to Iowa State University was completed in early November 2011. Both stations went silent upon completion of the sale, but returned to the air on November 21, 2011, airing Iowa Public Radio's Classical Network.

The Hogan and Martha A. Runkle Queen House is a historic residence located southeast of Earlham, Iowa, United States. Hogan Queen settled in Madison County in 1853. Within two years he had acquired 900 acres (360 ha) of land, and his land holdings eventually grew to 1,420 acres (570 ha). In addition to farming, Queen was a livestock dealer and he operated a stagecoach stop in his home. The house was also believed to be a stop on the Underground Railroad.The house is an early example of a vernacular limestone farmhouse. This 2½-story asymmetrical massed rectangular structure is composed of ashlar finished cut quarry faced stone and rubble. The stone may have been quarried on the farm. The house features cut out bargeboards, a protruding water table and lintel course, and a gable roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
