Villa La Palestine

L'Estaque is a village in southern France, just west of Marseille. Administratively, it belongs to the commune of Marseille.

The Société Coloniale des Chaux et Ciments de Portland de Marseille (Colonial Company for Lime and Portland Cements in Marseille) owned and operated cement works in L'Estaque near Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône.

Notre-Dame de la Galline is a historic Roman Catholic chapel in the 16th arrondissement of Marseille, France. An ancient church was built in the 4th century, and subsequently rededicated in 1042. By the 18th century, the entrance of the current building was erected, and the church building was rebuilt in 1845–1850, when a Mass was conducted. Church-goers visited the church to pray for the rain to come down, or for the end of the plague. Meanwhile, the bell turret was built in the 1870s. The whole building was restored in the 1980s.

The Oppidum de Verduron is an oppidum in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille, Southern France. It was built in the Iron Age. It was discovered in 1906, but not fully excavated until 1911. It has been listed as a historical monument (French: monument historique) since 24 August 2004.

La Castellane is a neighbourhood in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille, France. Built as a Modernist council estate in the 1960s for French refugees of the Algerian War of 1954–1962, it is now home to about 7,000 residents, many of whom are second-generation French citizens. The neighbourhood is plagued by unemployment, drug trafficking, prostitution and arms smuggling. It is known for being the neighbourhood where the footballer Zinedine Zidane grew up.

Lycée Saint-Exupéry, nicknamed Saint-Ex, is a sixth-form college/senior high school in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille, France.As of 2013 the attendance zone of Saint-Exupéry covers those of nine different junior high schools (collèges).

The Église Saint-Louis is a historic Roman Catholic church in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille, France. It was designed in the Bauhaus architectural style by Jean-Louis Sourdeau, with additional sculptures designed by Carlo Sarrabezoles. Its construction was completed in 1935. It has been listed as an official historical monument since December 14, 1989.

Les Pennes-Mirabeau (French pronunciation: [le pɛn miʁabo]; Occitan: Lei Penas de Mirabèu) is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in southern France, located 13.5 km (8.4 mi) from Marseille. In May every year, a medieval festival attracts tens of thousands people.

The Arenc affair began on April 16, 1975 in Marseille, France, when attorney Sixte Ugolini publicly condemned the police's kidnapping of his client, Mohamed Chérif, a Moroccan citizen with legal status. Shortly thereafter, the general public discovered a dormant warehouse located in the port of Arenc that had been covertly used by the prefecture to detain non-nationals (primarily Algerians) awaiting deportation for more than a decade, outside of any established legal framework. The affair foreshadowed the establishment of administrative detention centers, which were brought into law in October 1981.
