Tobyhanna State Park

The Pocono Mountains, commonly referred to as the Poconos (), are a geographical, geological, and cultural region in Northeastern Pennsylvania. They overlook the Delaware River and Delaware Water Gap to the east, Lake Wallenpaupack to the north, Wyoming Valley and the Coal Region to the west, and the Lehigh Valley to the south. The name Pocono is derived from the Munsee word Pokawachne, which means "Creek Between Two Hills". Much of the Poconos region lies within the Greater New York–Newark, NY–NJ–CT–PA Combined Statistical Area. The wooded hills and valleys have long been a popular recreation area, accessible within a two-hour drive to millions of metropolitan area residents, with many Pocono communities having resort hotels with fishing, hunting, skiing, and other sports facilities. Although referred to usually as a mountain range, the area is actually a dissected plateau, a sub-section of the larger Allegheny Plateau, forming a 2,400-square-mile (6,200 km2) escarpment. The topological mountains are also a subrange of the Appalachian Mountains.

Wallenpaupack Creek is a 30.0-mile-long (48.3 km) tributary of the Lackawaxen River in the Pocono Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania in the United States. Wallenpaupack is from the Unami language and has been interpreted as "deep, dead water" or "the stream of swift and slow water." Approximately 13 miles (21 km) of the lower Wallenpaupack Creek lies buried beneath Lake Wallenpaupack, a reservoir created when the utility PPL Corporation (PP&L) dammed the creek in 1926 as a water supply for a 44-megawatt hydroelectric power plant. South Sterling is an unincorporated community in Dreher Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. South Sterling is located along Pennsylvania Route 191 and the Wallenpaupack Creek, north of the intersection with Pennsylvania Route 423 and near the border with Pike County.

Pocono Peak Lake is a lake in Lehigh Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The lake is the origin of the Lehigh River.

Tobyhanna station is a proposed NJ Transit commuter rail station that is located in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The station forms part of a site owned by a number of public and private entities including the Pennsylvania Northeast Regional Railroad Authority. Its site is adjacent to the former Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad (and later, Erie Lackawanna) station. The building remains in place and is in use as the local historical society rail museum. In spring 2021, Amtrak announced plans to establish a New York-Scranton route.

Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) (previously known as Tobyhanna Signal Depot) is a 'full-service electronics maintenance facility' tasked to provide logistical support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Systems for the United States Department of Defense. The depot was established on February 1, 1953, in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, near Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.It is the largest industrial employer in Northeastern PA. It supports the "sustainment, overhaul and repair, fabrication and manufacturing, engineering design and development, systems integration, technology insertion, modification, and global field support." TYAD also facilitates the United States Air Force Technology Repair Center for tactical ballistic missiles, rigid-wall shelters, and portable buildings.

Tobyhanna is an unincorporated American community that is located in Coolbaugh Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Despite its name, it is not located in Tobyhanna Township.

Tobyhanna National Forest was established in Pennsylvania by the United States Forest Service on April 10, 1925, with 20,870 acres (84.5 km2) from part of the Tobyhanna Military Reservation. On October 10, 1928, the executive order for its creation was rescinded and the forest was abolished.

Gouldsboro State Park is a 2,880-acre (1,165 ha) Pennsylvania state park in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County and Lehigh Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The park includes the 250-acre (100 ha) Gouldsboro Lake. Gouldsboro State Park is located very close to Tobyhanna State Park and Pennsylvania State Game Lands 127 and 312. It is on Pennsylvania Route 507 near the small village of Gouldsboro.

Pocono Mountains Regional Airport (IATA: MPO, ICAO: KMPO, FAA LID: MPO) is a public airport two miles northwest of Mount Pocono, in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It is owned by the Pocono Mountains Regional Airport Authority. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a general aviation facility.
