Earlham School of Religion (ESR), a graduate division of Earlham College, located in Richmond, Indiana, is the oldest graduate seminary associated with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). ESR's Mission Statement is as follows: "Rooted in the Christian Quaker tradition of contemplation that inspires action, Earlham School of Religion prepares theologically diverse students for a pluralistic world. Our curriculum unites spiritual formation, academic study, social engagement, and vital ministry."

Bethany Theological Seminary is the a seminary of the Church of the Brethren in Richmond, Indiana. It is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and the Higher Learning Commission.

Earlham College is a private liberal arts college in Richmond, Indiana. The college was established in 1847 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and has a strong focus on Quaker values such as integrity, a commitment to peace and social justice, mutual respect, and community decision-making. It offers a Master of Arts in Teaching and has an affiliated graduate seminary, the Earlham School of Religion, which offers three master's degrees: Master of Divinity, Master of Ministry, and Master of Arts in Religion.

The Mary Birdsall House is known as the Lauramoore Guest House & Retreat Center and is located in Richmond, Indiana. It was built in 1859 for Thomas and Mary Birdsall, a leading woman's suffragist in Indiana. The Italianate brick-built house is a two-story structure standing at the corner of Northwest Fifth Street and Richmond Avenue. In 1927, the Whitewater Monthly Meeting Religious Society of Friends converted the building to a retirement home, adding on a two-story addition on the west and north sides of the building. Later, the property was given to Earlham College, and it now serves as a guest house and retreat center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Earlham College Observatory is a historic observatory building located on the campus of Earlham College at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1861, and is a one-story, brick building with a hipped roof. It consists of a 19-foot-square central section topped by a copper dome with a removable section, and flanked by 10-foot by 19-foot sections. Beneath the revolvable dome is a 6+1⁄2-inch objective lens telescope located in the center of the main block.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

A large-scale industrial fire occurred on April 11, 2023, impacting a recycling processing facility and its surrounding area in Richmond, Indiana, United States. The fire was caused by a semi-trailer carrying plastics which was engulfed in flames. Four years prior to the fire, the city had found that the site was a fire hazard and the Wayne Circuit Court affirmed the finding, declaring it "unsafe to people and property".

Don McBride Stadium is a baseball ballpark built in 1936 at the corner of Northwest 13th Street and Peacock Road in Richmond, Indiana. It is named after Joseph Donald McBride, the former director of the Richmond Parks Department who oversaw development of the stadium.The ballpark has hosted four minor-league baseball teams over the years: the Richmond Roses (1946-48), the Richmond Robins (1949), the Richmond Tigers (1950-52) and the Richmond Roosters (1995-2005), as well as the Richmond High School, Seton Catholic Cardinals and Earlham College teams. It was home to the Richmond RiverRats of the collegiate summer Prospect League from 2009 to 2015. It is currently home to the Richmond Jazz of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. The stadium features a small covered grandstand. Seating capacity is 1,787. It was renovated in 1995.

Richmond Gas Company Building was a historic commercial building located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built in 1855, and was a two-story, L-shaped, early Victorian style brick building. It had a gable roof supported by steel trusses and round and arched windows.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and delisted in 2012.

Richmond High School is a public high school in Richmond, Indiana, United States. It is the home of the Richmond Red Devils, who are members of the North Central Conference of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Prior to 1939, the school was known as Morton High School in honor of Indiana's Civil War Governor, Oliver P. Morton. The current principal of Richmond High is Rae Woolpy.

Swayne, Robinson and Company also known as "Swayne, Robinson & Co." or simple "Swayne, Robinson" was an iron and aluminum casting factory founded in 1842 by Francis W. Robinson. The company operated until 1997, when it closed and its owners filed for bankruptcy. The building was located at 214 East Main Street Richmond, Indiana until 2001. A fire in 1999 destroyed a third of the building. It is the current site of the Wayne County Jail. Until it closed, it was the oldest family-owned business in America.

The Wayne County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. It was built during the period 1890–93, and is in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The building was designed by Cincinnati, Ohio, architect James W. McLaughlin and the construction was supervised by New Castle, Indiana, architect William S. Kaufman. The U-shaped building measures approximately 214 feet by 128 feet, and is constructed of brick faced with Indiana Limestone. It features a projecting entrance pavilion, high pitched hipped and gable roofs, large semicircular arches, and octagonal corner tower. Architectural historians Michael Tomlan and Mary Raddant-Tomlan have suggested that the Wayne County Courthouse was influenced both in terms of exterior design and elements of interior layout by Henry Hobson Richardson's Allegheny County Courthouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It borders the northern boundary of the Old Richmond Historic District which includes some of Richmond's earliest extant architecture.

Richmond station is a former railway station in Richmond, Indiana. It is located near the corner of North C and North Third Streets. The Chicago, Cincinnati and Louisville Railroad built their line through the area in the decade prior to 1910, though they were a later addition to the railroad network in the area. As such, passenger traffic was never substantial. The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway acquired the line and station in 1910, but would go on to only run a single daily local train between Chicago (later Hammond) and Cincinnati which operated until about 1950. Amtrak took over intercity rail service in 1971 and began routing the inherited James Whitcomb Riley through Richmond starting in 1974. The accompanying Mountaineer stopped at the station for its operational life between 1977 and 1979. The train would go on to be renamed the Cardinal, but Richmond was bypassed in 1986. Tracks were removed and the right of way adjacent to the station building was converted to the Cardinal Trail.
