Morgan County is between Indianapolis, in Marion County, and Bloomington in Monroe County. It is included in the Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. Two major highways, Interstate 69 and Indiana State Road 67, carry large numbers of daily commuters between the two larger communities. The county has 14 townships which provide local services.

Elm Spring Farm is a historic home and farm located in Jefferson Township, Morgan County, Indiana. The farmhouse was built about 1844, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, single pen log dwelling with a frame kitchen addition. Also on the property are the contributing single corn crib converted to a garage, second single corn crib, privy, brick outdoor fireplace, spring, and sandstone abutments for two absent foot bridges. The building represents an assemblage of pioneer log buildings. During the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps was hired to reforest the farm. The property has also been used as a Girl Scout camp.: 5, 10  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Hall School in Hall, Indiana, was designed by Henry H. Dupont and built in 1911. It is located at 5955 West Hurt Road at Hall in Gregg Township. It is an example of the Craftsman architecture in the vernacular style. The building has 2-floors with six classrooms and additions built in 1957 and 1971. The Morgan County Historic Preservation Society, an affiliate of Indiana Landmarks, nominated the school to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, a year before the building went vacant due to school consolidation. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Bradford Estate, also known as Bradford Woods, is a historic estate and national historic district located in Clay Township, Morgan County, Indiana. The original house was built about 1850, and is a one-story, double pen vernacular frame dwelling. It features a full-width shed porch. The Campbell House is a 1+1⁄2-story frame dwelling sheathed in red brick in 1920. It was moved to its present site in 1912 with the building of the manor house. The manor house was built in 1912, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Prairie School style brick dwelling. It features a hip roofed porch supported by two piers. Also on the property are the contributing spring house (c. 1900) and carriage house (1909). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
