Interstate 470 Bridge

La Belle Iron Works, also known as La Belle Cut Nail Works, was a historic factory complex and national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district included four contributing buildings; three Italianate style brick buildings dated to the founding of the company in 1852, and a tin plate mill built 1894–1897. After 1902, the buildings were combined under a single roof, although the truss systems date to different periods achieving the configuration visible today. When listed in 1997, it was known as the "La Belle Cut Nail Plant, The Largest in the World, Wheeling Corrugating Company, A Division of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation." The cut nail machinery still in use by La Belle dated to 1852 and the 1860s. The machinery at La Belle along with the different processes were documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey team during the summer of 1990.The plant stopped operation in 2010, and was demolished in 2017.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

The Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company (formerly the Helme Tobacco Company) of Wheeling, West Virginia was a tobacco company founded by brothers Aaron and Samuel Bloch in 1879. It was best known for its Mail Pouch chewing tobacco. Mail Pouch was a popular chew advertised on over 20,000 barns, most of which were located in the rural Ohio River Valley. Each barn had an end or side painted with the familiar Mail Pouch lettering and advertising, "Treat yourself to the best." The brothers began manufacturing cigars in 1879 as a side-line to Samuel Bloch's wholesale grocery business. It was discovered that the left-over cigar clippings could be flavored and packaged in a paper bag, and then sold. Mail Pouch chewing tobacco is still produced by Swisher International Group.

Riverview is an unincorporated community along State Route 7 in northeastern Pultney Township, Belmont County, Ohio, United States, between Bridgeport and Bellaire. At one time, Riverview was a small unincorporated village, but it was demolished over time to make way for Interstate 470 near its crossing of the Ohio River. Its remains are still visible from Route 7 during late fall, winter and early spring.

The Center Wheeling Market is a historic public market located along Market Street between 22nd and 23rd Streets in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It consists of the Center Wheeling Market building as well as the Center Wheeling Fish Market. The 1853 Center Wheeling Market building was designed by architect Thomas Pope as an open market. The building is of neo-classical style with three bays and structural cast iron Doric order columns. It has a gable roof and features a belfry complete with bell. The 1890 open brick, neo-Romanesque section was designed by Wheeling architect Edward B. Franzheim. It has brick piers that support a hipped roof with cross gables and a three-foot overhang. In 1900, a wooden enclosure was built at the northern bay to house the Center Wheeling Fish Market.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for Ohio County on February 20, 1975. The property is also located in the Centre Market Square Historic District.

Wheeling Historic District, also known as the Wheeling Central Business District, is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district includes 205 contributing buildings in the central business district of Wheeling. It includes the site of the original location of Fort Henry. The buildings are representative of a number of popular architectural styles from the early-19th century through the present including Greek Revival and Late Victorian. Centre Market Square Historic District is a historic district in Wheeling, West Virginia, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district includes 181 contributing buildings in a variety of popular architectural styles dating from as early as about 1850. The district encompasses the area of Wheeling focused on the separately listed Center Wheeling Market. Chapline Street Row Historic District is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 10 contributing buildings, including eight residences. All buildings are brick with sandstone foundations. The first building was built in 1853, with some buildings added through the 1870s, and the last in 1896. The houses are in the Late Victorian style and are considered an architectural "super block."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack (formerly Wheeling Downs) is a greyhound racino located on Wheeling Island in the middle of the Ohio River, which is a part of the city of Wheeling, West Virginia. It is located just off the Wheeling Island exit of I-70, about two hours east of Columbus, Ohio. The casino is also located approximately one hour southwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since January 2023, Wheeling Island is one of only two live greyhound tracks in the United States, along with Mardi Gras Casino and Resort in Nitro, West Virginia. Both are owned by Delaware North.

Wheeling Warehouse Historic District is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district includes 20 contributing buildings and 11 contributing structures. They are warehouses and commercial style buildings and structures between Main Street and the Ohio River. All of the buildings date to the late-19th and early-20th century. The warehouses are mostly two- and three-story masonry buildings. The two-story commercial buildings have storefronts on the first floor and residential units above. Notable buildings and structures include the Pump Store (1933), Wheeling Stamping Plant (1932), Allied Plate Glass (c. 1920), Warwick China (c. 1887), Boury Warehouse (c. 1894), Ott-Heiskell Company (c. 1871), Edward Wagner Wholesale Grocers building (1915), the Moderne style former Greyhound Bus Station, and Main Street Bridge (1891).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, with a boundary increase in 2022.

Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) was a 200-bed health care facility in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was founded in 1890 as City Hospital. Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing was established on campus in 1892, and was the first school of nursing in the state of West Virginia. OVMC was affiliated with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and had an osteopathic medicine residency program. The residency program offered residencies in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and traditional internal/emergency medicine fields. OVMC was also home to the OVMC School of Radiologic Technology, a two-year hospital based education program. The hospital closed permanently in September 2019.

Wheeling Female College was a school for women in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was incorporated as Wheeling Female Seminary on January 24, 1848 by the Virginia General Assembly (Wheeling was part of the state of Virginia until 1863.) The school offered courses in academic subjects, music (including piano and guitar), and art (including painting and drawing). Its president was Samuel Ott and the largely female teachers were led by principal Sarah R. Hanna The school closed in June 1865. A group purchased the school's assets and reopened the school in September as Wheeling Female College. The school offered a similar curriculum "to furnish first class instruction in all departments of education; in the elegant and artistic as well as the elementary and substantial". The school served Protestant women, positioning itself as an alternative to nearby Catholic schools like Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy at a time when there was significant anti-Catholic sentiment locally. In January 1891, the College's president Rev. H.R. Blaisdell suddenly resigned, citing low pay and harsh local winters. The school closed permanently and was purchased by the Woman's Hospital Association, which opened the Wheeling City Hospital. The Hospital became the Ohio Valley General Hospital, then the Ohio Valley Medical Center, which closed in 2019.

Robert W. Hazlett House is a historic home located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It was built in 1887, and is a three-story Second Empire style brick residence measuring 30 feet (9.1 m) wide and 112 feet (34 m) deep. It features a central hooded bay and a polychrome slate-covered mansard roof. The interior has many Queen Anne style details. In 1991, it housed Friends of Wheeling, Inc., a private, non-profit, historic preservation organization and four apartments.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
