Danville Junction Grange

Bar Harbor Airlines Flight 1808 was a scheduled flight from Logan International Airport to Bangor International Airport in the United States on August 25, 1985. On final approach to Auburn/Lewiston Municipal Airport, the Bar Harbor Airlines Beechcraft Model 99 crashed short of the runway, killing all six passengers and two crew on board. Among the passengers was Samantha Smith, a 13-year-old American schoolgirl who had become famous as a goodwill ambassador to the Soviet Union and had been cast on the television show Lime Street.

Auburn-Lewiston Airport (IATA: LEW, ICAO: KLEW, FAA LID: LEW) is a public airport in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. It opened in 1935. It is five miles southwest of the cities of Auburn and Lewiston, which jointly own and operate the airport.The airport is not served by any commercial airline, but is served by several charter airlines. The airport was the site of the Bar Harbor Airlines Flight 1808 accident, which killed Samantha Smith, who gained global notoriety following her correspondence with Soviet leader Yuri Andropov during the Cold War.

The Free Baptist Church, also known as the Penley Corner Church is a historic church on Riverside Drive in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1833, the building's interior was extensively redecorated in the late 19th century with Queen Anne stained glass, stencilwork, and multicolored painting. Its primarily for the well-preserved interior artwork that this building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Barker Mill is an historic mill at 143 Mill Street in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1873, this five-story brick mill building is one a relatively few in the state that has a mansard roof, and has a higher degree of decorative styling than other period mill buildings. It was the first major mill on the Auburn side of the Androscoggin River. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and is now residential housing. It was built in the Second Empire architectural style.

The Charles L. Cushman House is an historic house at 8 Cushman Place in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1889 for the son of a major local shoe manufacturer, it is unusual as an example of Queen Anne architecture executed in stone, and is one of the finest residential commissions of Lewiston architect George M. Coombs. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Edward Little High School is a public high school in Auburn, Maine, United States that was first established as Lewiston Falls Academy in 1835. Philanthropist Edward Little donated 9 acres (3.6 ha) and considerable money to the academy, which was named in his honor. The school is now situated on a 56.25-acre (22.76 ha) tract of land overlooking the city from the top of Goff Hill in Auburn Heights.

The F. M. Jordan House is a historic house at 18 Laurel Street in Auburn, Maine. Built in 1881, it is one of the finest examples of Second Empire style in the state. It was built by Charles Jordan, a local master builder and distant relative of Francis Jordan, for whom it was built. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. It is now subdivided into apartments.
