Kruispolderhaven is a hamlet located in the eastern Zeelandic Flanders portion of the Dutch province of Zeeland. Its name originates from its location at the eastern tip of the Kruispolder, a "crossed" polder adjacent to a (now nonexistent) seaport on the southern bank of the Western Scheldt estuary.

Baalhoek is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located in the municipality of Hulst, about 5 km east of Kloosterzande on the dyke of the Westerschelde.The name of the hamlet refers to an old pier to the north, "Ten Ballen", used by a ferry. When the village of Hontenisse disappeared in a flood in 1509, this pier and some of the remaining dykes formed a corner ("hoek"), named "Ballenhouck". The pier disappeared into the Westerschelde around 1600, but the name remained.According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, Baalhoek (or "Balhoek") was the only settlement in the Kruispolder, a polder that was reclaimed from the sea in 1616. In the middle of the 19th century, it consisted of 19 houses, and had a population of more than 70. All of the houses of the hamlet were located on or near the sea dyke. There was a little harbour here. Around the harbour, a new hamlet Kruispolderhaven arose. Nowadays, the hamlet is the smallest of the three hamlets in the Kruispolder, including Kruisdorp and Kruispolderhaven. Together, these three settlements are also named "Kruispolder". Baalhoek is mostly associated with the "Baalhoekkanaal" (Baalhoek Canal), a plan for a shortcut to the harbour of Antwerp to bypass the narrows of Bath that was proposed in 1967, but finally rejected in 1998 due to the resistance of a coalition of environmentalists and farmers.

Graauw is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 22 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom.

Lamswaarde is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 23 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. The village was first mentioned around 1260 as Lamswerd, and means "land on water belonging to Lam(bert)". Lamswaarde is a road village which developed in the 13th century near the outpost of the Cistercian monastery Baudeloo. The outpost was destroyed in the late 16th century during the Eighty Years' War. The village was flooded in 1578. 1615, a new dike was constructed around the Oostvogel and the land was poldered.The Catholic St Cornelius was built between 1871 and 1873 to replace the barn church of 1686. It is a three-aisled basilica-like church. The Theresiagesticht was an orphanage constructed between 1925 and 1926. A matching girls school has built next to the orphanage.Lamswaarde was home to 405 people in 1840. The village used to be part of the municipality of Hontenisse. In 2002, it became part of the municipality of Hulst.

Zandberg is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 24 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. Zandberg is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Graauw. The hamlet has place name signs. It used to be home to 305 people in 1840. Nowadays, it consists of about 50 houses.

Valkenisse is a former village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The village was repeatedly flooded in the 16th and 17th century, and was finally abandoned after the flood of 26 January 1682.The small remaining part of the domain of Valkenisse was a separate municipality until 1816, when it was merged with Waarde.The sandbanks in the Westerschelde south of Krabbendijke, the Platen van Valkenisse, are named after the village.

Saeftinghe or Saaftinge was a town in the southwest Netherlands, located in eastern Zeelandic Flanders, near Nieuw-Namen. It existed until 1584. It is now a swamp known as the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe (Dutch: Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe) and an official nature reserve area. The land is a crosspoint where the river Scheldt meets the salty waters of the North Sea in the estuary Western Scheldt. It is a treacherous place where the tides easily consume large stretches of land in a matter of seconds and must not be explored without an experienced guide.

Gawege is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Reimerswaal. The hamlet lies on the road from Krabbendijke to Waarde. The hamlet was mentioned first in 1288.Gawege is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Waarde. The hamlet consists of about 30 houses.

The siege of Hulst was a siege of the city of Hulst that took place between 20 and 24 September 1591 by a Dutch and English army under the leadership of Maurice of Orange during the Eighty Years' War and the Anglo–Spanish War. The siege was part of Maurice's famous campaign of 1591.

The siege of Hulst of 1596 took place between mid-July and August 18, 1596, at the city of Hulst, Province of Zeeland, Low Countries (present-day the Netherlands), during the Eighty Years' War, the Anglo-Spanish War (1585–1604). The siege was won by the Spanish forces of the Archduke of Austria. After a short siege, during which Maurice of Orange launched a failed attempt to relieve the city, the garrison of Dutch and English troops fell into Spanish hands on August 18, 1596.

Hontenisse (population in 2002: 8,014) is a former municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the municipality of Hulst in the province of Zeeland. The municipality covered an area of 115.78 km² (of which 3.53 km² water). On January 1, 2003 Hontenisse was merged into Hulst.

Kuitaart is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 24 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. The village was first mentioned in 1469 as up Coytaerde. The etymology is unknown.The grist mill Vogelzicht was built in 1865. In 1904, an engine was installed in the mill. The wind mill was restored in 2004.Kuitaart was home to 197 people in 1840. The village used to be part of the municipality of Hontenisse. In 2002, it became part of the municipality of Hulst.
