Gartow-Höhbeck transmitter is a large facility for FM and TV transmission in Lower Saxony, Germany, situated behalf of the communities of Gartow and Höhbeck. The Gartow-Höhbeck transmitter had, until 2009, two guyed antenna masts, one with a height of 327 metres, the other with a height of 344 metres. This made Gartow-Höhbeck transmitter the only transmission site in Europe with two supertall towers, that were exclusively used for transmissions in the VHF/UHF range.

It is situated in the easternmost tip of Lower Saxony, not far from the river Elbe, approx. 30 km northeast of Salzwedel, and 20 km west of Wittenberge. Meynbach is a river of northeastern Germany. It flows from its source near Hühnerland in a generally western direction along the border between Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It flows into the Alte Elde near Krinitz. A branch of the Meynbach flows from Hühnerland to the east, and joins the Tarnitz north of Reckenzin.

The Nausdorf Canal (German: Nausdorfer Kanal) is a canal in the municipalities of Lenzen and Karstädt in the northwest of Brandenburg, Germany. It links two lakes — the Rambower See, in Karstädt, and the Rudower See, in Lenzen — and runs through the Rambower Moor. It takes its name from the village of Nausdorf, part of Lenzen, located midway along the canal. Already in the 15th century, there was a mill stream that powered a mill in Nausdorf that existed until 1833. The canal was built between 1862 and 1879, and expanded in 1924/1925 to its present dimensions.The canal is about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) long and was designed with a width of 8–10 metres (26–33 ft); today at points it is a maximum of 3 metres (9.8 ft) wide. Its depth is about 1 metre (3 ft 3 in); its bed is covered with a thick layer of mud. The watercourse is not navigable. It is popular with anglers due to its large stock of whitefish.

Nienwalde is a village within Gartow in Lower Saxony, Germany. It belongs to the county Lüchow-Dannenberg and it is situated near the border to Saxony-Anhalt. The municipality is around 6,34 km2, and the number of inhabitants amounts to 307.

Steesow is a former municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Since 1 January 2016 it is part of the town Grabow.

The Aland is a river in the German states of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, left tributary of the Elbe. It is the continuation of the river Biese (downstream from Seehausen), which is the continuation of the river Milde. The Aland is 27 kilometres (17 mi) long, whereas the total Milde-Biese-Aland system is 97 kilometres (60 mi) long. The Aland flows into the Elbe in Schnackenburg.

Schnackenburg is a town in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the left bank of the Elbe. It is part of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Gartow. Lying at the easternmost projection of Lower Saxony, the town is bordered on all sides except the west by territory that was formerly East Germany. It is the least densely populated town ("Stadt") in what was West Germany, although there are nine towns in what was formerly East Germany that are less densely populated (mostly in Brandenburg).
