Vista Road Recreation Ground is a cricket ground in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. The first recorded first-class cricket match on the ground was in 1931 when Essex County Cricket Club played there against Lancashire. Essex played a total of 60 first-class matches on the ground between 1931 and 1966, playing their final first-class match there against Leicestershire in the 1966 County Championship.The ground has also held five Second XI fixtures between 1948 and 1952 for the Essex Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship.In local cricket, the ground is the home venue of Clacton Cricket Club.

Holland-on-Sea is suburb of Clacton, in the Tendring district, in east Essex in England. Located south of the little village of Great Holland and directly north of Clacton-on-Sea, it has bus links to Walton-on-the-Naze and Clacton-on-Sea. It is a short coastal walk down the coastline to Clacton. There is a public library, four churches, St Bartholomew’s Church (Church of England), All Souls Catholic Church, Holland Methodist and a Baptist church. The village has several independent shops, a village hall, a primary school, one main hotel (The Kings Cliff Hotel), plus a number of guest houses and pubs. It has several beaches with facilities for bathing and boating. There are two Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Holland Haven Marshes, part of which is Holland Haven Country Park, and Holland-on-Sea Cliff.

Pickers Ditch Meadow is a 1.9 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Clacton-on-Sea in Essex. It is owned and managed by Tendring District Council.The site runs along the bank of Pickers Ditch, a tributary of Holland Brook. A footpath runs through the grassland site, and hedges have been planted along the border to screen it.There is access from Thorpe Road.

Clacton-on-Sea railway station is one of the two eastern termini of the Sunshine Coast Line, a branch of the Great Eastern Main Line, in the East of England, serving the town of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. It is 69 miles 56 chains (112.17 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street. Its three-letter station code is CLT. The preceding station on the line is Thorpe-le-Soken. The station was opened in 1882 with the name Clacton. It is currently managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains serving the station. The branch diverges from the Great Eastern Main Line at Colchester whence trains run to either Colchester Town, Walton-on-the-Naze or Clacton-on-Sea. Clacton is on a spur from Thorpe-le-Soken which was built by the Clacton-on-Sea Railway and originally operated by the Great Eastern Railway. It opened some 15 years after the branch to Walton was opened. On 1 January 1923 the station passed to the London and North Eastern Railway following the 1921 Railways Act. After World War II and following nationalisation, it fell under the auspices of British Railways (Eastern Region). Services were steam-operated until the line was electrified, with Clacton first seeing electric trains on 16 March 1959. Initially, the line was only electrified as far as Colchester, as part of British Railways' experiments with 25 kV AC electrification, rather than the previously preferred 1500 V DC system. Through electrified services to Liverpool Street were introduced on 7 January 1963.Clacton station has a sizeable concourse sheltered by a glazed roof. Platforms 1 and 3 have an operational length for ten-coach trains and platforms 2 and 4 have an operational length for twelve-coach trains. There is a traction depot just outside the station, with some stabling sidings alongside the station itself. Its name was changed to Clacton-on-Sea in May 2007.

Dream 100 was an Independent Local Radio station owned and operated by Bauer. It broadcast to Tendring and Essex from studios in Colchester and Ipswich, airing the same music programming as sister station Town 102. The station was folded into Greatest Hits Radio East, as part of a rebrand and merger, on 1 September 2020.

Clacton Town Hall is a municipal building in Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, England. The town hall, which is the headquarters of Tendring District Council, is a Grade II listed building.

Clacton Pier is a pier located in the seaside resort town of Clacton-on-Sea in England. It was named Pier of the Year in 2020 by the National Piers Society. The pier hosts rides, ten-pin bowling, arcades, a seaquarium, golf and a soft-play centre – as well as numerous food, drink and retail outlets.

Holland-on-Sea Cliff is a 0.1-hectare (0.25-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Holland-on-Sea, north-west of Clacton-on-Sea in Essex. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site is of great importance in understanding the evolution of the London Basin, and it is the type site for two different gravels. The "Lower Holland Gravel" was the final terrace laid down by the River Thames before the river was diverted south during the Anglian glaciation around 450,000 years ago. The "Upper Thames Gravel" was deposited when the Thames was blocked by ice and not reaching the area. As the terraces can be attributed to the Anglian glaciation, they provide a fixed point for correlation other Anglian sequences in southern Britain and on the Continent.The site is a short stretch of the slope between the Esplanade and the Promenade, opposite Haven Avenue. No geology is visible.

The West Cliff Theatre in Clacton-on-Sea, England, dates back to 1894 when Bert Graham, a 21-year-old civil servant, set up a concert party on a patch of waste ground in Agate Road. In 1899, along with Bernard Russell and Will Bentley, Graham moved the concert party to the West Cliff Gardens. Bernard Russell died in 1910, but Graham and Bentley continued the concert party. In 1912 they signed up a new romantic baritone by the name of Stanley Holloway. He stayed with the company for three years. In 1928, Graham and Bentley built a new theatre on the site of their concert party, the theatre which still stands in Clacton-on-Sea today as the West Cliff Theatre. In 1934, Graham and Bentley sold the theatre and it was bought by Will Hammer, who already owned several seaside theatres. In 1934 he also founded the film company Hammer Film Productions, which was later to gain worldwide fame as the producer of many horror films. Will Hammer died in 1957 and there was much doubt over whether the theatre would continue. Eventually, Clacton Council bought the theatre and continued to put on shows. In 1985, a local group of theatre enthusiasts took over the day-to-day running of the theatre and in 1995 bought the freehold of the theatre from the council. The West Cliff (Tendring) Trust is now solely responsible for putting on the shows at the theatre and still maintain the tradition of putting on a summer show.

Clacton-on-Sea, often simply called Clacton, is a seaside town and resort in the county of Essex, on the east coast of England. It is located on the Tendring Peninsula and is the largest settlement in the Tendring District, with a population of 53,200 (2021). The town is situated around 77 miles north-east of Central London, 40 miles east-north-east of Chelmsford, 58 miles north-east of Southend-on-Sea, 16 miles south-east of Colchester and 16 miles south of Harwich. The area was historically in the parish of Great Clacton. The development of the seaside resort began in the 1870s and was called Clacton-on-Sea to distinguish it from the older village about 1 mile (1.6 km) inland. Great Clacton and Clacton-on-Sea were always administered together, forming a single urban district called Clacton between 1895 and 1974. The two settlements gradually merged into a single urban area during the twentieth century. The town's economy continues to rely significantly on entertainment and day-trip facilities; it is strong in the service sector, with a large retired population. The north-west part of the town has two business/industrial parks. In the wider district, agriculture and occupations connected to the Port of Harwich provide further employment. It lies within the United Kingdom Parliament constituency of Clacton.

Great Holland Pits is a 16.2-hectare (40-acre) nature reserve east of Great Holland in Essex. It is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust.This area of former gravel pits has grassland, ancient woodland, ponds and wet depressions. There are water birds such as kingfishers, coots and little grebes, and flowering plants include moschatels and carline thistles.There is access by a footpath from Little Clacton Road.
