Llanilar

Castle Hill is an area and country estate in the community of Llanilar, Ceredigion, Wales, which is 70.2 miles (112.9 km) from Cardiff and 175.8 miles (282.9 km) from London. Castle Hill is represented in the Senedd by Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru) and is part of the Ceredigion constituency in the House of Commons.

Llanilar railway station was on the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth Line (originally called the Manchester and Milford Railway before being transferred to the Great Western Railway).

Coed y Crychydd is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Ceredigion, west Wales. It is a moderately steep, north facing wood, featuring mainly ancient semi-natural woodland overlooking the Ystwyth Valley, managed by the Woodland Trust since 1980. The site support a variety of birds, including red kite, buzzard, raven and heron.

The Ystwyth Trail is a 21-mile (34 km) multi-use rail trail linking Aberystwyth, Llanfarian, Ystrad Meurig and Tregaron in Ceredigion, Wales. Cycling and walking are permitted along the entire length while horseriding is permitted on several sections only. The £1.7m Ystwyth Trail was partially completed in September 2008 and runs along part of the former redundant track bed of the Old Manchester and Milford Railway, a Great Western Railway branch line. It remains incomplete, as several sections of the former railway line were not purchased to create the trail due to extensive lobbying by local councillors of Ceredigion County Council against the trail, as existing landowners and farmers objected to the construction of the trail. Diversions of the trail have now been carried out onto narrow sections of existing public roads to link these missing sections, but this has created a non continuous trail with intermediate road sections on narrow roads which have considerable safety issues due to their narrowness, many bends and no traffic speed limits. Due to these objections and lobbying, it is unlikely that this trail will be developed or completed any further. The Ystwyth Trail links with other routes via Lampeter and Devil's Bridge creating a link with both the Lôn Cambria and Lôn Teifi long distance cycling routes (Sustrans national network routes 81 and 82).

The Dyfi Biosphere (Welsh: Biosffer Dyfi) is situated at the coast of south-central Wales in the estuary of the River Dyfi, and is a biosphere reserve representative of salt marshes and estuarine systems in the west of the United Kingdom. The estuary forms one of the most important wildfowl and shorebird centres in Wales and also comprises a Ramsar site. Cors Fochno has a large expanse of primary raised mire and contains a high number of invertebrate species, including some of national and international importance. Upstream along the Dyfi Valley are remnants of native oak woodland. The site was declared in 1977, and covers an area of 1,589 hectares.

Felindyffryn Halt was located on the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth Line, originally called the Manchester and Milford Railway, before being transferred to the Great Western Railway (GWR).

Nanteos (Welsh: Plas Nanteos, Nanteos Mansion) is an 18th-century former country house in Llanbadarn-y-Creuddyn, near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales. A Grade I listed building, it is now a country house hotel. The gardens and parkland surrounding the mansion are listed on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales. The current building was constructed between 1738 and 1757 for the Powell family, with the Shrewsbury architect Edward Haycock Sr. designing the stable block in the 1830s, and William Ritson Coultart designing the east wing and rear offices in 1841. The family occupied the house for some 200 years up until the last of the Powells, Margaret Powell, who died in 1951. At its peak the Nanteos estate comprised some 31,000 acres in 1800, covering most of what is today Aberystwyth, and was the major employer of the county. The name derives from the Welsh for "brook" (nant) and "nightingale" (eos).The house was once the home of the Nanteos Cup, a medieval mazer drinking bowl that has been attributed with a supernatural ability to heal those who drink from it; it was traditionally believed to be fashioned from a piece of the True Cross. A 1905 pamphlet declared it to be the Holy Grail.

Gaer Fawr is an Iron Age hill fort located near Llanilar, Ceredigion, Wales; the Ordnance Survey grid reference is SN648718. The fort is registered with Cadw under reference number CD050. There are approximately 300 of these forts on the Cadw list, although archaeologists note that there are about 570 of them in Wales.

Lledrod is a village and community in Ceredigion, Wales. The village is situated on the A485 road from Llanilar to Tregaron, where it crosses the valley of the River Wyre (Welsh: Afon Wyre). The parish is divided into Lledrod Isaf (Lower Lledrod) and Lledrod Uchaf (Upper Lledrod); Lledrod village is located in the former, Swyddffynnon village is situated in the latter. The name 'Lledrod' is a contraction of Llanfihangel-Lledrod, which derives from Llanfihangel Llether-troed, meaning 'the church of St Michael at the foot of the slope'. The community includes the small settlements of Tyncelyn and Blaenpennal.
