Radebeul

Radebeul-Weintraube station is in Radebeul in the German state of Saxony. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a Haltepunkt (“halt”, that is it has no sets of points). Weintraube (“bunch of grapes”) station was opened in 1838 in the Lößnitz fields (the banks of the Elbe downstream from Dresden) as the first station out of Dresden on Germany's oldest long-distance railway, the Leipzig–Dresden railway. It is now the oldest station still regularly served in Saxony.

The Lößnitzbach is a river of Saxony, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Elbe, which it joins in Radebeul.

The Hoflößnitz is the municipal winery in Radebeul (district Oberlößnitz) on the Saxon Wine Route. In the electoral and royal Saxon period, the estate was a country seat of the Saxon line of the Wettins for almost 500 years and the center of courtly Saxon vineyard ownership. Today it has been developed into the Saxon Winegrowing Museum Hoflößnitz with a sales outlet and its own wine dispensing. The winery belongs to the Lößnitz large vineyard site, single site Goldener Wagen. The Hoflößnitz with Mountain and Pleasure House, press house, cavalier house and wine press is listed as a heritage ensemble (Ensembleschutz) under heritage protection. In addition, the open and green space around the Hoflößnitz is considered a work of landscape and garden design within the heritage protection area Historic Vineyard Landscape Radebeul. The Hoflößnitz also includes the vintner's house located below and to the right of the ascent or the gate system with attached bakehouse as well as the former wood yard to the left toward the property, also with a vintner's house. The 80 bird oil paintings from the Dutch painter Albert Eckhout on the ceiling of the banquet hall there are listed in the List of Bird Paintings by Albert Eckhout in the Hoflößnitz. The Hoflößnitz is a “unique testimony to viticulture in the Elbe Valley and courtly culture and lifestyle in Saxony, especially in the 17th and 18th centuries, [the] pleasure house with remarkable furnishings, especially the Baroque paintings, [the] complex overall of incomparable urban, art-historical, cultural-historical and landscape-designing effect”.

The Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda station is in Kötzschenbroda, a district of Radebeul in the German state of Saxony. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a Haltepunkt (“halt”, that is it has no sets of points). It is located on the Pirna–Coswig railway, which was recently created as a separate line as part of the upgrade of the Leipzig–Dresden railway. The station, which was previous called Radebeul West, was rebuilt and renamed Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda in 2013 and it is now served mainly by the Dresden S-Bahn.

The Karl May Museum is a museum in Radebeul, Germany named after the German author Karl May, containing artifacts from May's life as well as a worldwide ethnographic and art collections with emphasis on the life on the American frontier and Native American life of that era. It is located in Villa Shatterhand, May's Italian Renaissance home, and Villa Bärenfett, a log cabin built in the garden that was the founding core of the museum. The main house was opened to the public after Klara May's death.

The lime tree of Kaditz is a natural landmark situated in the churchyard of Emmaus Church in Kaditz, a district of Dresden in Saxony, Germany. The large-leaved lime tree (Tilia platyphyllos) is 20 metres (66 ft) high and is estimated to be between 500 and 1,000 years old. The girth of the trunk is about 10 metres (33 ft). In 1818 the tree was badly damaged by a huge fire in the village, which caused the trunk to split in two. It developed an abnormal growth to compensate for the damage done by the fire. This lime tree has often been written about and depicted, especially in Germany, and has also been used as a case study in dendrology, the science of trees and wooded plants. With its large girth it was ranked among the biggest lime trees in Germany even in the 19th century. The Kaditz Lime is also said to have served as a kind of pillory in the Middle Ages. The German Tree Archive includes it in its list of the most significant trees in the nation (NBB – national bedeutsame Bäume), in which the most important criterion is the girth of the trunk measured at a height of 1 metre.

Radebeul Ost (east) station is a station in the Große Kreisstadt of Radebeul in the German state of Saxony. It is in the suburb now called Radebeul-Ost. The station buildings are located within the boundaries of Alt-Radebeul (old Radebeul) on Sidonienstraße. The station is on the Dresden S-Bahn network. The station is now divided between the heritage-listed station area on the Dresden S-Bahn, the terminal station of the narrow-gauge Radebeul–Radeburg railway (Lößnitzgrundbahn) and its associated facilities, the old goods shed, the narrow-gauge railway museum and the former station building, which is no longer used for rail purposes but is instead operated as the Radebeuler Kultur-Bahnhof (“Radebeul Culture Station”), including an events hall, a library located in the west wing (former waiting room) since 2002 and the adult education college of Meissen district (Volkshochschule im Landkreis Meißen) located in the east wing since 2013. In addition to the events hall in the former station building, the renovated station forecourt is also used as a venue for events. The station area includes various heritage-listed buildings and it also includes a depot and exhibition space for the storage of many heritage-listed, narrow-gauge locomotives and carriages.

The Friedewald train collision was a railway accident on 12 September 2009 in Saxony, Germany. It involved two steam-hauled passenger trains of the narrow gauge heritage Radebeul–Radeburg railway (German: Lößnitzgrundbahn). One hundred and twenty-one people were injured, four of them seriously. Substantial damage was sustained by the locomotives and rolling stock.

The Zschonerbach is a small river of Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Elbe near Dresden.
