The École pratique des hautes études (French pronunciation: ​[ekɔl pʁatik de ot.z‿etyd]), abbreviated EPHE, is a Grand Établissement in Paris, France. It is highly selective, and counted among France's most prestigious research and higher education institutions. It is a constituent college of the elite Université PSL (together with ENS Ulm, Paris Dauphine or Ecole des Mines). Its degrees in religious studies and in history count among the best in the world. Closely linked to École française d'Extrême-Orient and Institut français du Proche-Orient, EPHE has formed continuously world-class experts in Asian and Islamic studies and among them investment bankers, diplomat and military officers specialized in these areas. Particularly, leading researchers in military strategy have taught in EPHE for more than a century, such as, by example, Hervé Coutau-Bégarie. Moreover, famous researchers in natural sciences (especially neurosciences and chemistry) teach and taught in EPHE (among them Jean Baptiste Charcot and Marcellin Berthelot). Highly regarded for its top level in both natural and human sciences, EPHE has relations and exchange programs with world-renowned institutions such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Al-Azhar.

LISAA School of Art & Design, (L'Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués) is a French private institution for applied art education founded in 1986. Located in Paris, Rennes, Nantes, Strasbourg, Bordeaux and Toulouse. The school is recognized by the French Ministry of Culture and communication. Different diplomas are offered in animation, video games, interior architecture, design, graphical design and fashion.

The Boulevard Auguste-Blanqui is a boulevard in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. It is one of the main arteries linking the Place d'Italie with the Place Denfert-Rochereau. The boulevard is 1040 metres long, and approximately 70 metres wide, it starts from the Place d'Italie and extends to Rue de la Santé, on the edge of the 14th arrondissement, where it becomes the Boulevard Saint-Jacques. It traverses the former valley of the Bièvre. The boulevard is named after the French thinker and socialist revolutionary Louis Auguste Blanqui (1805–1881).

La Santé Prison (literally meaning Prison of la Santé Street) (French: Maison d'arrêt de la Santé or Prison de la Santé) is a prison operated by the French Prison Service of the Ministry of Justice located in the east of the Montparnasse district of the 14th arrondissement in Paris, France at 42 Rue de la Santé. It is one of the most infamous prisons in France, with both VIP and high security wings. Along with the Fleury-Mérogis Prison (Europe's largest prison) and the Fresnes Prison, both located in the southern suburbs, La Santé is one of the three main prisons of the Paris area.

The Lycée Rodin is a French secondary and higher school located at 19, rue Corvisart in Paris, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The school is named after Auguste Rodin, who was born and raised in the area.

The Sainte-Anne Hospital Center (French: centre hospitalier Sainte-Anne) is a hospital located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, specializing in psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, neuroimaging and addiction. With its creation dating to 1651, the organization remains, along with the Esquirol Hospital in Saint-Maurice, the symbol of psychiatric asylums in France.

Saint-Jacques (French pronunciation: ​[sɛ̃ ʒak]) is a station on Line 6 of the Paris Métro. It serves Place Saint-Jacques in the 14th arrondissement. The Boulevard Saint-Jacques and Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Jacques also intersect the square. It is one of only a few Métro stations that have a combined entrance and ticket hall at street-level.

The Hôpital Cochin is a hospital of public assistance in the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Jacques Paris 14e. It houses the central burn treatment centre of the city. The Hôpital Cochin is a section of the Faculté de Médecine Paris-Descartes. It commemorates Jean-Denis Cochin, curé of the parish of Saint-Jacques-du-Haut-Pas and founder of a hospital for the workers and poor of that quarter of Paris.Since 1990, a biomedical research centre, the Institut Cochin, has been associated with the hospital. It was reorganised in 2002 to embrace genetic research, molecular biology and cellular biology, with a staff of about 600. It is part of both INSERM and CNRS, integrated with the Université Paris V. In 2004 the Maison de Solenn, a shelter for adolescents, was opened within the hospital with the active support of Bernadette Chirac; its name commemorates Solenn Poivre d'Arvor.

Corvisart (French pronunciation: ​[kɔʁvizaʁ]) is an elevated station of the Paris Métro serving line 6 at the intersection of the Rue du Corvisart and the Boulevard Auguste Blanqui in the 13th arrondissement.

The Hôtel de Massa is an 18th-century hôtel particulier, or large townhouse, at 38 rue du Faubourg Saint-Jacques in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. It was originally located on the avenue des Champs-Élysées and was moved in 1929 to its present location, in a park beside the gardens of the Paris Observatory. Classified as a historical monument, it has since been occupied by the Société des gens de lettres.

The Paris meridian is a meridian line running through the Paris Observatory in Paris, France – now longitude 2°20′14.02500″ East. It was a long-standing rival to the Greenwich meridian as the prime meridian of the world. The "Paris meridian arc" or "French meridian arc" (French: la Méridienne de France) is the name of the meridian arc measured along the Paris meridian.The French meridian arc was important for French cartography, inasmuch as the triangulations of France began with the measurement of the French meridian arc. Moreover, the French meridian arc was important for geodesy as it was one of the meridian arcs which were measured to determine the figure of the Earth via the arc measurement method. The determination of the figure of the Earth was a problem of the highest importance in astronomy, inasmuch as the diameter of the Earth was the unit to which all celestial distances had to be referred.
