Hansahochhaus

Hansagymnasium Köln is a Gymnasium in Cologne, Germany and has about 800 pupils. The school was founded in 1899 as a business school. Until 1941 its name was Oberrealschule am Hansaring.

Köln Hansaring railway station is situated in the city of Cologne in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, about one kilometre northwest of Köln Hauptbahnhof. A few hundred metres west of the station is the Betriebsbahnhof Köln Hansaring Wendeanlage (Köln Hansaring operations station reversing facility). At the station Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 11 branches off towards Neuss Hauptbahnhof via Köln-Nippes station and Köln-Chorweiler on the Lower Left Rhine Railway from S-Bahn line S 12, which runs parallel to the Cologne–Aachen high-speed railway to Düren via Köln-Ehrenfeld and Köln-Weiden West station. The station (which is classified as a Haltepunkt, that is a "halt", which is defined as having no set of points) and the operating station together form the western end of the trunk line of the Cologne S-Bahn (which is operated as part of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn). It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. The S-Bahn trains stop here on an island platform, which has a length of 145 metres. A large part of the platform is located on a bridge over a street called Hansaring. There is a covered connection between the Hansaring S-Bahn station and the Hansaring station of the Cologne Stadtbahn in the median strip of the Hansaring.

The Basilica church of St. Ursula (German: [ˌzaŋt ˈʔʊʁzula], Colognian: [ˌtsɪnt ˈʔoʒəla]) is located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is built upon the ancient ruins of a Roman cemetery, where the 11,000 virgins associated with the legend of Saint Ursula are said to have been buried. The church has an impressive reliquary created from the bones of the former occupants of the cemetery. It is one of the twelve Romanesque churches of Cologne and was designated a Minor Basilica on 25 June 1920. While the nave and main tower are Romanesque, the choir has been rebuilt in the Gothic style.

The TtE library is a library and archive of left-wing social movements. It is located in the community center Alte Feuerwache in Cologne, Germany. The library emerged from a reading circle in Leverkusen in connection with the youth center movement in the mid-1980s. It moved to Cologne in the early 1990s. An estimated one-quarter of its holdings consist of so-called gray literature. Its holdings of approximately 16,000 books and brochures are freely accessible and systematically arranged. There are also about 1400 magazine titles published by citizens' initiatives, women's projects, self-help groups and various political contexts. The TtE library in Schwerin is a sister library. The TtE library is a member of the research association Fédération internationale des centres d'études et de documentation libertaires (FICEDL).The abbreviation TtE in the name of the library refers to the former club location TT Embargo of the Leverkusen Förder- und Trägerverein selbstverwaltete Jugendzentren e.V. or the boycott of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy.

Liceo Italo Svevo or the Istituto Italo Svevo (German: Gymnasium Italo Svevo) is a private Italian international school in Cologne, Germany.It was founded in 1997. The website states that it is the only Italian school in Germany.

Gaffel Becker & Co is a brewery founded in 1908 by the Becker Brothers in Cologne. It produces a traditional regional style top-fermented beer called Gaffel Kölsch.

The MediaPark is an urban regeneration neighborhood in Cologne, Germany, completed by the turn of the millennium. It was set up to accommodate companies of the media and communication industry, as well as cultural institutions, a hotel and some apartment buildings. The MediaPark is situated in Neustadt-Nord, Cologne, on the site of a former goods station, and is some 20 hectare large. The project was designed by Canadian architect Eberhard Zeidler, with construction lasting from 1990 until 2004. The buildings sit radially around a central square, and are surrounded by parks and a small lake. The city quarter's focal point is the 148 metre tall KölnTurm, designed by French architect Jean Nouvel and completed in 2001. The MediaPark is home to over 250 companies and a workforce of some 5,000 people. Among the corporate firms at MediaPark are EMI Music Germany, Radio Köln and Westdeutscher Rundfunk studios of 1LIVE; among the cultural institutions are a large multiplex cinema (Cinedom), the Filmbüro Nordrhein-Westfalen, the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, the musikFabrik and SK Stiftung Köln with the Akademie för uns Kölsche Sproch (Academy for our Kölsch language).

Ebertplatz is a major underground station on the Cologne Stadtbahn lines 12, 15, 16 and 18, located in Cologne. The station lies at Ebertplatz on the Cologne Ring in the district of Innenstadt.

St. Andrew's (German: St. Andreas) is a 10th-century Romanesque church located in the old town of Cologne, Germany. It is one of twelve churches built in Cologne in that period.Archbishop Gero consecrated the church in 974, dedicating it to St. Andrew, although an earlier church at the site was dedicated to St. Matthew. In the 12th century, the church was rebuilt in the Romanesque style, and was probably completed after the great fire of Cologne in 1220. In the crypt of the church lies a Roman sarcophagus from the 3rd century, which holds the remains of the 13th-century theologian and natural philosopher St. Albertus Magnus. Since 1947, the Dominican Order has ministered to the church.

The Kölnische Stadtmuseum is the municipal history museum of Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is housed in the building of the historic Zeughaus with the adjacent Prussian Alte Wache Zeughaus. Its collection includes around 350,000 objects from the Middle Ages to the immediate present. The holdings range from the city seal from 1268 to paintings and graphics, militaria, coins, textiles, furniture and everyday objects to material evidence of current Cologne events. Social, economic and cultural history of the last 1200 years can thus be explored both on the individual object and in thematic depth. Annual visits in 2018 were 19,832, although the museum has had to do without its permanent exhibition since 2017, as the armoury is no longer usable following water damage. Special exhibitions continue to be presented regularly in the Alte Wache; the move to interim quarters is imminent. Unlike in other cities, about half of the audience is registered in Cologne, which has been interpreted as an indication of Cologne's attachment to its homeland.In its more than 130-year history, the Stadtmuseum has resided under different names and in different buildings in the city area. The current location is also expected to be replaced in favour of a new building in the "Historische Mitte" near the Cologne Cathedral.

St. Gereon's Basilica (Basilika Sankt Gereon) is a German Roman Catholic church in Cologne, dedicated to Saint Gereon, and designated a minor basilica on 25 June 1920. The first mention of a church at the site, dedicated to St. Gereon, appears in 612. However, the building of the current choir gallery, apse, and transepts occurred later, beginning under Archbishop Arnold II von Wied in 1151 and ending in 1227. It is one of twelve great churches in Cologne that were built in the Romanesque style.St. Gereon has a highly irregular plan, the nave being covered by a decagonal oval dome, 21.0 m long and 16.9 m wide, completed in 1227 on the remains of Roman walls, which are still visible. It is the largest dome built in the West between the erection of the Hagia Sophia in the 6th century and the Duomo of Florence in the 15th century.Ernst Seifert built an organ there in 1898. In the 20th century, the architect Andreas Dilthey worked on its interior.Archaeological excavation has revealed the presence of an earlier structure from the fourth century, possibly a funerary building that was converted into a church by the sixth century. This original church was perhaps called the church of the Golden Saints (ad sanctos aureos) by Gregory of Tours.
