St Donat's Church, Welsh St Donats

Welsh St Donats (Welsh: Llanddunwyd) is a village and a community in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. Consisting of 1207 hectares of mainly rural land, it is located north east of Cowbridge. The population of the community was 534 in the 2011 census. Welsh St Donats includes the villages of Maendy, Prisk and Tair Onen. A mile to the east from the village lies the Hensol Forest, while the remains of Talyfan Castle are to the north.

The St Hilary transmitting station is a facility for telecommunications situated close to the village of St Hilary, Glamorgan in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, in the UK. It comprises a 229-metre (750 ft) guyed mast with antennas attached at various heights. The site was established in 1958 for Independent Television transmission on VHF. Transmissions from the site include FM radio, DAB radio and mobile telephone signals. It broadcasts Heart Wales on FM and DAB to the large parts of South Wales.Its broadcast areas include: St. Hilary, Cowbridge, Ystradowen, Miskin, Pontyclun, Bonvilston, St. Nicholas, Swansea, Llanelli, West of Barry, Pontypridd, Caerphilly, Mountain Ash, Llantrisant, Church Village and Talbot Green. The studios of the regional radio station Nation Radio are located on the site and its DAB transmissions to south-east Wales are made from the mast. Nation Radio also transmits from other sites, including on FM from nearby Wenvoe and from Kilvey Hill near Swansea.

The Battle of Stalling Down, also known as the Battle of Bryn Owain, is a battle reputed to have taken place between late autumn or early winter of 1403 or 1405 between a Welsh army under Owain Glyndŵr and an English army under King Henry IV of England. It was part of the Welsh Revolt of 1400–1415.

Ystradowen railway station served the village of Ystradowen in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. It was on the Cowbridge and Aberthaw line.

Ystradowen is a small village twelve miles west of Cardiff, located in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales; its nearest town is Cowbridge which is about three miles to the south. The village was served by Ystradowen railway station between 1865 and 1951. The name Ystradowen means "Owen's Valley" in English. Local amenities include St Owain's parish church, The White Lion public house, Tudor Garage and Seven Oaks fisheries. Notable residents: Tom Jones had a home in the village until 1998.

Trerhyngyll and Maendy Halt railway station was a railway halt in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Aberthin is a small village, just outside Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, on the north side of a shallow valley, less than a mile northeast of Cowbridge across the A48 road. Cowbridge Comprehensive School lies just to the southwest of the village. About 250 metres to the south is an old quarry, with a "faulted strip of grey oolite". Aberthin is also the name of a brook, the River Aberthin. The village was served by the Aberthin Platform railway station between 1905 and 1920, now a field to the west of Aberthin.

The Bush Inn is a Grade II listed public house in St Hilary, near Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. The current inn dates to the 16th century. It has a thatched roof, thick stone walls, low oak beams, flagstone floors, old pews, a stone spiral staircase, and an inglenook fireplace. The benches outside the pub look across to the Church of St Hilary.Iolo Morganwg was known to have visited the pub. The Rough Guide to Wales praised its food and "cosy" atmosphere. Egon Ronay's Lucas Guide in the late 1970s said "People come from Cardiff and Swansea to St Hilary for the sake of this stone-built thatched pub, which offers table skittles or darts in the tile-floored public bar."The Automobile Association named the Bush Inn "Welsh Pub of the Year 2008/9".

St Hilary (Welsh: Saint Hilari ) is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It is located just south of the A48, about a mile southeast of the market town of Cowbridge. The village has a population of about 260, in approximately 80 houses. Notable landmarks in the vicinity include The Bush Inn, the Church of St Hilary, the Old Beaupre Castle, New Beaupre, Coed Hills and St. Hilary mast.

The Parish Church of St Hilary (Welsh: Eglwys Sant Ilar) is a Grade II* listed Anglican church in the village of St Hilary in the Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. It is one of 11 churches in the Parish of Cowbridge. It became a listed building on 22 February 1963.

Trerhyngyll is a small village in the Vale of Glamorgan, about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Cowbridge and 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Ystradowen, near Maendy, off the A4222 road. Trerhyngyll and Maendy Halt railway station operated here from 1905 to 1951, though the line was closed to passengers as early as 1930 between Cowbridge and Aberthaw. In 1986 it was described as a "typical vale village with between 50-60 houses, most of which are 10-50 years old though 8 are over 200 years old." Trerhyngyll typically houses commuters who work in Cowbridge or Cardiff.
