Machynys Ponds

Machynys, or Machynys Peninsula is a coastal area just to the south of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Wales. In the nineteenth century an industrial community lived here working at the brickworks and tinplate works that occupied the site. When the industrial activity ceased in the mid-twentieth century, the buildings were demolished and the site lay derelict. It has now been redeveloped as a golf course as part of the Llanelli Waterside regeneration plan.

Llanelli railway station is the railway station serving the town of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is located on the West Wales line and the Heart of Wales line 225 miles 20 chains (362.5 km) from the zero point at London Paddington, measured via Stroud. The station and the majority of trains calling are operated by Transport for Wales. It is located between two level crossings (known as East and West) that were previously upgraded in the 1970s. In 2015, Network Rail carried out a further upgrade which saw the control of these level crossings pass from the Grade-II listed Llanelli West signal box (which worked the two crossings here only since 1973) to Port Talbot Panel Signal Box using CCTV.

Soar Welsh Independent Chapel was an Independent (Congregationalist) chapel in Marsh Street, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Services at Soar were conducted in the Welsh language. The chapel was established in the 1880s after a split at the neighbouring Ebenezer church. Ebenezer's minister, Trefor Davies, together with a large proportion of the members, left to form Soar after a dispute that was reported upon but not explained fully in the local press. Trefor Davies remained minister at Soar until his death in 1933. E. D. Morgan became minister in 1961 and remained at Soar for thirty years. Huw Edwards suggests that it was Morgan's efforts that enabled Soar to stay open as long as it did.After a period of decline and a failure to form a united ministry with other churches, Soar closed in 2005.As of 2019 the building is in use as a children's nursery.

Siloah was an Independent (Congregationalist) chapel in Copperworks Road, Seaside, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. Services at Siloah were conducted in the Welsh language. The chapel was established in 1841 at a time when Llanelli Docks were rapidly expanding and industrial development was being driven apace by entrepreneurs such as the Nevill family. David Rees of Capel Als was the driving force behind the new cause. Siloah was consecrated on 14 January 1841 with 116 members leaving Capel Als to form the new congregation. David Rees acted as minister of the new church for the first year.

Bethel Baptist Chapel is a Baptist chapel in the town of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was built in 1840 and is located on Copperworks Road. It had a larger seating capacity than most Llanelli chapels and in 1905 could seat 850 persons.

Calfaria was one of the many Baptist chapels in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Established in 1881, the original chapel was a modest red-brick building which cost £500 and was opened in January 1882. Within seven years a new chapel was built, designed by George Morgan of Carmarthen. It flourished for over a century before closing in the early twenty-first century. The building is now derelict.

Myrtle House is an Elim Pentecostal Church in Llanelli, Wales. The church was started in 1935 as a result of the actions of P.S. Brewster.

Coedcae School (Welsh: Ysgol Coedcae) is a comprehensive school in Llanelli, Wales. As of 2020 it has 880 pupils, aged from 11 to 16 years old. The school uniform is black trousers, white shirt and red and silver tie (Purple and silver for senior pupils) and a black jumper with the school logo. The current head teacher is Tracy Senchal, the school has around 70 teachers. Coedcae was placed in school quality group 2, 1 being excellent and 5 being poor. Notable past students include the cricketer Simon Jones and the athlete Dai Greene. The 2011/2012 school year marked the end of deputy headmaster, Mr Robert Davies', 37 year teaching career as he retired. 2013 saw Coedcae getting a 48% pass rate at GCSEs grade A-C, decreasing in 2014 to a 39% pass rate. This was a drastic improvement from the 49% pass rate in the school year 2010/2011.

Tyisha is an electoral ward for Llanelli Town Council and Carmarthenshire County Council in Llanelli, Wales.

Parc Trostre is a retail park in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The first phase of the development occurred in 1988, consisting of stores such as Tesco. In September 2008, the growing popularity of the retail park led Llanelli Town Council to express concern at the increasing adverse impact which the continued expansion of Parc Trostre is having on Llanelli town centre.

The A4214 is a ring-road around Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, west Wales. The route begins at the junction with Hall Street and Gelli-onn, on the A484 road in northwest Llanelli. At this point, the road is a dual-carriageway as it heads south-east along Hall Street to the Public Library, then south-west along Church Street and past the town council, government buildings, then south-east again past the town hall and county council offices. Here, the road turns into a single-carriageway as it becomes Station Road to the junction with the B4303 and Queen Victoria Road. The road takes a 90-degree to the north-east along Murray Street towards the Asda Supermarket. Following construction of the Asda Supermarket in the middle of the town centre, the road takes a detour around the car-park, first running south-east along Bres Road, then north-east along Upper Robinson Street then north-west along Stepney Place, before rejoining the original route. The road then continues north-east until it reaches Swansea Castle Roundabout, with the junction of the A484. Inside this ring-road is the main commerce area of Llanelli, including the shopping centre, supermarket, indoor and outdoor markets, bus-station, high street shops as well as multi-story, off-street and street parking.

Capel Als is an Independent (Congregational) chapel in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales, It is regarded as one of the most significant religious buildings in Wales. Folk tradition suggested that the name refers to a woman named Als, which along with Alys is the Welsh equivalent of the English name Alice, whose cottage stood where the chapel was built. Another theory contends that the Welsh word als translates as rock, and there is a rock-face behind the chapel. However, there is no word "als" in Welsh meaning rock, and so this latter explanation may be safely disregarded. It is a Grade II-listed building but many believe it should be accorded more significant status.
