Ledbetter station

VA Medical Center station is a DART Light Rail station in Dallas, Texas. It is located at Lancaster Road (SH 342) and Mentor Avenue in the Oak Cliff neighborhood. It opened on May 31, 1997. It serves the Blue Line, serving nearby residences and businesses, the Dallas VA Medical Center, and the Dallas Urban League.

Camp Wisdom station is an at-grade DART Light Rail station along the Blue Line, which is located at 6712 Patrol Way in Dallas, Texas. It opened on October 24, 2016 as part of the South Oak Cliff Corridor extension. DART has hoped that this extension will help spur development south of Ledbetter along the new corridor to UNT Dallas. The station is within walking distance of the Dallas Police Department's South Central station. It also includes bus access from the west side of Patrol Way.

Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy is an advanced high school focusing on college readiness and is located on the grounds of the University of North Texas at Dallas in southern Dallas, Texas. It is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school was named after Kathlyn Joy Gilliam, the first African-American woman who served on the Dallas ISD school board and the first African-American to serve as the president of the Dallas ISD board.Prior to relocating to its current building, Gilliam was housed in the Nolan Estes Plaza. Construction of the current campus began in June 2010. The current campus opened in the fall of 2011.

Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at A. Maceo Smith (BOMLA) is a magnet secondary school for boys located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. It is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. After the Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School, it is DISD's second single gender school.The school, which occupies the campus of the former A. Maceo Smith High School, is named after former President of the United States Barack Obama, in honor of the fact that he was the first black President. The campus was named for Antonio Maceo Smith (1903–1977), a pioneer civil rights leader in Dallas.

New Tech High School at B. F. Darrell, formerly A. Maceo Smith New Tech High School, is a four-year public high school serving grades 9-12 in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas (USA). It is part of the Dallas Independent School District. It is a technology magnet school established in 2011 in the former A. Maceo Smith High School; it now occupies the former B. F. Darrell Elementary School. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.The school in its initial campus was named for Antonio Maceo Smith (1903–1977), a pioneer civil rights leader in Dallas.

Texas's 30th congressional district of the United States House of Representatives covers much of the city of Dallas and other parts of Dallas and Tarrant counties (primarily black- and Hispanic-majority areas). The district contains the University of North Texas at Dallas, UNT Law, and Texas Women's University at Dallas. The current Representative from the 30th district is Democrat Jasmine Crockett, who has represented the district since 2023. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of D+27, it is the most Democratic district in Texas.

The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD) is a public university in Dallas, Texas. It opened in 2000 as a branch campus of the University of North Texas, offering upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in multiple disciplines. In 2009 it became a free-standing university, offering a full undergraduate program as well as graduate work. UNT Dallas is the only public university based within Dallas city limits.

Fruitdale, sometimes called Fruitdale Acres, is an area in Dallas, Texas, United States that used to be its own incorporated city. On April 17, 1937 Fruitdale incorporated so it would not be annexed by Dallas. In October 1964 residents voted to disincorporate and Dallas annexed Fruitdale in November of that year.

South Oak Cliff High School (colloquially referred to as SOC, pronounced "sock") is a public secondary school located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas, United States. South Oak Cliff High School enrolls students in grades 9-12 and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). The school serves the area of Dallas known as "South Oak Cliff" (generally east of Interstate 35E and south of Illinois Avenue, though the area was never technically part of Oak Cliff). The school also previously had some students who lived in the former Wilmer-Hutchins ISD boundaries. DISD began to take in WHISD-zoned students during the 2005–2006 school year, and at that time the entire Wilmer-Hutchins High School senior class attended South Oak Cliff. In 2015, the school was rated "Improvement Required" by the Texas Education Agency.

UNT Dallas station is a DART Light Rail in Dallas, Texas. It is located on the University of North Texas at Dallas campus at 7300 University Hills Road, and serves as the southern terminus of the Blue Line. It was constructed as part of the Southern Oak Cliff extension, and opened on October 24, 2016 along with the Camp Wisdom station. DART has hoped that this extension will help spur development south of Ledbetter along the new corridor to UNT Dallas. Bus access, kiss & ride access, general parking, and handicap parking will be provided at both stations of this new extension.
