There was another Debden Hall in Essex, in Epping ForestDebden Hall was a country house in the north-west of the county of Essex, in England. It was demolished in 1936. Debden, Uttlesford is a village, parish and manor south of Saffron Walden. It was purchased by Richard Chiswell around 1700. He died in 1751, having built up the estate. In 1795 Richard Muilman Trench Chiswell had Henry Holland remodel the existing hall. Through his daughter's marriage to Sir Francis Vincent, 8th Baronet, the hall passed in the family line to Sir Francis Vincent, 10th Baronet. On his death in 1880, Debden Hall passed to his daughter, Blanche Cely-Trevilian.Blanche Cely-Trevilian sold the Hall (1882), to William Fuller-Maitland; he disposed of it to John Ashton Fielden. It came to Donald Smith, 1st Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal, and on his death (1914) passed to his daughter Margaret Smith, 2nd Baroness Strathcona and Mount Royal. For reasons of cost the Hall was not maintained, leading to its demolition, and the breakup of the estate.

Widdington is a village and civil parish near Saffron Walden, in the Uttlesford district, in the county of Essex, England. The population of the parish at the 2011 census was 504. The village is located near the M11 motorway. Widdington has a church dedicated to St Mary the Virgin. Prior's Hall, now a private residence, is a rare survival of a stone-built structure from the late tenth or early eleventh centuries; Prior's Hall barn, from the fourteenth-century, is nearby.Widdington was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Widituna. The entry reads: Widi(n)tuna: St Valery Abbey; Robert from Robert Gernon; Ranulf Peverel.

Newport railway station is on the West Anglia Main Line serving the village of Newport in Essex, England. It is 39 miles 72 chains (64.2 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Elsenham and Audley End stations. Its three-letter station code is NWE. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Greater Anglia. It is sometimes printed as Newport (Essex) on tickets and timetables in order to distinguish it from other similarly-named stations. To the north of the station is the Audley End Viaduct. At 60 feet (18 m) high at its centre it is the tallest viaduct in Essex.

Rook End is a hamlet near the village of Widdington, in the Uttlesford district, in the county of Essex, England. Rook End contains three listed buildings, including Rook End Cottage and two small 18th-century timber-framed and plastered cottages.

Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport, formerly Newport Free Grammar School, is a school in Newport, Essex, England. It was founded in 1588. The school is a mixed secondary school with a sixth form. It previously existed in different forms including a boarding school and a grammar school. The headteacher is Duncan Roberts and the vice headteacher is Ian Stoneham. As of 2012, there were 987 students, including 160 in the sixth form.It takes its current name after Dame Joyce Frankland (1531-1588), the only daughter of goldsmith Robert Trappes, who founded it as the "free Grammer Schole of Newport". Dame Frankland also made a number of educational bequests in her will to colleges at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The Leper Stone or Newport Stone (grid reference TL520349) is a large sarsen stone near the village of Newport, Essex, England. The name Leper Stone probably derives from the hospital of St. Mary and St. Leonard (fn. 1156?), a nearby hospital for lepers. Passers by could have left offerings of alms for the hospital residents in a small depression atop the stone; the hospital grounds were sold in the sixteenth century, and only a portion of the wall near the stone remains.Julian Cope, Peter Herring, UK Geocaching along with D.G. Buckley and Ken Newton's paper for the Council of British Archaeology have suggested that the Leper Stone was set vertically in the ground as a megalithic menhir or standing stone. J.D. Hedges report of 1980 also classified it as a standing stone for English Heritage, who describe this type of monument as A stone or boulder which has been deliberately set upright in the ground. Similarly it has been described as a monolith by the Proceedings of the Cambridge Antiquarian society.

Friends' School (known as Walden School from 2016–17) was a Quaker independent school located in Saffron Walden, Essex, situated approximately 12 miles south of the city of Cambridge, England. The school was co-educational and accommodated children between the ages of three and 18 (boarders and day pupils). The school closed at the end of the 2017 summer term.

Royal Air Force Debden or more simply RAF Debden is a former Royal Air Force station located 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Saffron Walden and approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the village of Debden in north Essex, England
