Hundvåg Tunnel

Engøy is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the "neighborhood" of Buøy in the borough Hundvåg in the city of Stavanger, just north of the city centre. The island is almost completely urbanized with many houses on the east side and a lot of industry on the west side. There were 461 residents on the island in 2014.The 17.1-hectare (42-acre) island is connected to mainland of Stavanger via the Engøy Bridge, which connects Engøy to the islands Sølyst and Grasholmen, and by the Stavanger City Bridge which connects Sølyst and Grasholmen to the mainland. Engøy was historically part of Hetland municipality until 1 January 1879 when it was transferred to the city of Stavanger.

Sølyst is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 0.13-square-kilometre (32-acre) island is located in the Buøy neighborhood in the borough of Hundvåg, just north of the centre of the city of Stavanger. It is connected to mainland Stavanger via the island Grasholmen and the Stavanger City Bridge. The island is hilly and rocky as well as heavily-treed. Most development is located on the south shore.

Bergjeland or Bergeland is a neighborhood (delområde) in the city of Stavanger which lies in the southwestern part of the large municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the borough of Storhaug, and it includes part of the city centre. The neighborhood has a population of 3,146 which is distributed over an area of 0.88 square kilometres (0.34 sq mi). The Bergeland Upper Secondary School and the Bergeland Tunnel are both notable places in the neighborhood.

St. Petri Church (Norwegian: St. Petri kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the large Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Storhaug which lies near the centre of the city of Stavanger in the far southwestern part of the municipality. It is one of the two churches for the Domkirken og St. Petri parish which is part of the Stavanger domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red, brick church was built in a long church style in 1866 using designs by the architect Fritz von der Lippe. The church seats about 900 people. The church is informally called the Petrikirken.

Buøy is an island in the municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Hundvåg in the city of Stavanger. The 0.6-square-kilometre (150-acre) island was formerly separated from the island of Hundvåg by a small channel of water, but that was filled in. Buøy is connected to the mainland city of Stavanger by a series of bridges over three other islands and the Byfjorden.Buøy is also the name of an official neighborhood (delområde) of the city. The neighborhood has a population of 1,792 which is distributed over an area of 1.19 square kilometres (0.46 sq mi) including the islands of Buøy, Engøy, Sølyst, and Grasholmen.

This court is based at three different courthouses which are located in Stavanger, Sandnes, and Egersund. It had jurisdiction over the central part of the county which included the municipalities of Hjelmeland, Kvitsøy, Randaberg, Sola, Stavanger, and Strand. Cases from this court could be appealed to Gulating Court of Appeal. The court was led by the chief judge (Sorenskriver) Tor Christian Carlsen. This court employed a chief judge, 18 other judges, and 24 prosecutors.The court was a court of first instance. Its judicial duties were mainly to settle criminal cases and to resolve civil litigation as well as bankruptcy. The administration and registration tasks of the court included death registration, issuing certain certificates, performing duties of a notary public, and officiating civil wedding ceremonies. It had jurisdiction over the Ryfylke area of the county which included the municipalities of Finnøy, Forsand, Hjelmeland, Kvitsøy, Randaberg, Rennesøy, Sauda, Strand, and Suldal. Cases from this court could be appealed to Gulating Court of Appeal.The court was a court of first instance. Its judicial duties were mainly to settle criminal cases and to resolve civil litigation as well as bankruptcy. The administration and registration tasks of the court included death registration, issuing certain certificates, performing duties of a notary public, and officiating civil wedding ceremonies. Cases from this court were heard by a combination of professional judges and lay judges.

Frue Church or Hetland Church (Norwegian: Frue kirke/Hetlandskirken) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Storhaug in the centre of the city of Stavanger. It is one of the two churches for the St. Johannes parish which is part of the Stavanger domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, wooden church was built in the long church style in 1854 using designs by the architect Hans Hansen Kaas. The church seats about 700 people. The church was originally built as the main church for the old municipality of Hetland and it was known as Hetland Church, but after it was merged into the city of Stavanger, the church has been officially known as Frue Church, however the old name is still in use.

Stavanger City Bridge (Norwegian: Stavanger bybru or just Bybrua) is a cable-stayed bridge in the city of Stavanger which is in the large Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The bridge has one tower and it was one of the first larger cable-stayed bridges in Norway when it opened on 31 January 1978. The bridge crosses the Straumsteinsundet strait connecting the city centre of Stavanger to the small islands of Grasholmen and Sølyst. It is the main connection to the whole the borough of Hundvåg which is a series of islands that are all interconnected by small bridges. The Stavanger City Bridge is 1,067 metres (3,501 ft) long, the main span is 185 metres (607 ft), and the maximum clearance to the sea is 26 metres (85 ft). The reinforced concrete bridge has 24 spans.The bridge has a high volume of travelers crossing it every day. This has led to the construction of the new Hundvåg Tunnel, which will connect the mainland city of Stavanger with the islands of Buøy and Hundvåg. The tunnel opened in 2020. It runs under the strait, immediately west of the bridge.

Stavanger Cathedral (Norwegian: Stavanger domkirke) is Norway's oldest cathedral and the seat of the Bishop of Stavanger who leads the Diocese of Stavanger in the Church of Norway. It is located in the centre of the city of Stavanger which lies in the southwestern part of the large Stavanger Municipality in central Rogaland county, Norway. The church is situated in the centre of the city, in the borough of Storhaug between Breiavatnet in the south, the square with Vågen in the north west, the cathedral square in the north, and Kongsgård in the southwest. It is one of the two churches for the Domkirken og St. Petri parish which is part of the Stavanger domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The gray, stone church was built in a long church style around the year 1125 using designs by an unknown architect. The church seats about 800 people.
