Seghill is a large village located on the Northumberland border which is the county boundary between Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. Seghill is situated between the villages of Seaton Delaval and Annitsford, about 8 miles (13 km) north of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Cramlington is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, 6 miles (9.7 kilometres) north of Newcastle upon Tyne, and 10 miles (16 kilometres) north of its city centre. The name suggests a probable founding by the Danes or Anglo-Saxons. The population was 29,405 as of 2011 census data from Northumberland County Council. It sits on the border between Northumberland and North Tyneside with the traffic interchange at Moor Farm, Annitsford, linking the two areas. The area of East Cramlington lies east of the A189, on the B1326 road that connects the town to Seaton Delaval.

Seaton Valley is a civil parish at the south eastern corner of Northumberland, and northern North Tyneside, consisting of five villages lying between Cramlington, Blyth and Whitley Bay. The largest village is Seaton Delaval, while Seaton Sluice is on the coast; the other three are Seghill, New Hartley, and Seaton Burn (which is in North Tyneside) It takes its name from the stream Seaton Burn, a small river which flows through the area. It was preceded by the Seaton Valley Urban District which existed until 1974, but has different boundaries; the urban district contained Cramlington, but did not contain Seaton Sluice which was then part of Borough of Whitley Bay. Tynemouth was a rural district in the English county of Northumberland. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Tynemouth rural sanitary district. It initially contained the following parishes: Backworth Bebside Burradon Earsdon East Hartford Hartley Holywell Horton Longbenton Murton Seaton Delaval West Hartford WillingtonIn 1897 the parishes of Backworth, Earsdon, Holywell and Murton became an Earsdon Urban District. A Camperdown parish was created in 1910 from the Weetslade urban district, also taking in part of Longbenton urban district. In 1910 Willington and part of Longbenton were added to the Municipal Borough of Wallsend. The rural district was dissolved in 1912, being split between the Blyth, Longbenton, Whitley and Monkseaton, Seaton Delaval and Cramlington urban districts.

Seaton Valley was an urban district in Northumberland, England, from 1935 to 1974, at which point it was split between the districts of North Tyneside and Blyth Valley.It was created by a County Review Order in 1935 from various urban districts near the North Sea coast, particularly Cramlington, most of Earsdon, Seaton Delaval, and Seghill. Under the Local Government Act 1972 it was abolished on 1 April 1974, with the wards of Backworth, Earsdon and Shiremoor going to the borough of North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, and the rest going to Blyth Valley in Northumberland. After the abolition of Blyth Valley district in 2008, a Seaton Valley parish was created. The boundaries of this parish are not identical to the old urban district - excluding Cramlington but including the part of the former borough of Whitley Bay to be included in Blyth Valley in 1974 (Hartley and Seaton Sluice).

Stonelaw County Middle School was a middle school in Cramlington, Northumberland, England, normally referred to as Stonelaw. Operating under the three-tier system in Northumberland, the school had an intake of pupils aged 10–13. The school was closed when Cramlington Learning Village opened in 2008. The school had extended classrooms in the form of a Science Laboratory, an Art Room and a Music and Drama Room, all taught by teachers specialising in that subject. The school also had the use of the Sporting Club fields for PE and Games. The school itself was one block instead of multiple blocks of buildings. The final headmaster before closure was Mr Andrew Youngs and the acting deputy was Mr Doug Moore.

Burradon Tower is a ruinous tower house at Burradon, North Tyneside, England which is both a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade II listed building. The Manor of Burradon was acquired by John Orde in 1441 when due to the devastation wrought by the Scots and the poor quality of the soil it was valued at only 20 shillings a year. The tower, originally a three storeyed single square bay, was probably built about 1553 by Bertram Anderson, a nephew of Orde. The property passed in 1569 to the Ogle family by whom it was extended and improved. A fireplace bears the date 1633 and the initials LO, thought to represent Lancelot Ogle who was resident at that time. Following the marriage of Jane Ogle to her cousin James Ogle of Causey Park House the tower was abandoned and by 1769 it was reported to be derelict. In the 19th century the structure was incorporated into a farm building.

Cramlington Learning Village, formerly Cramlington Community High School, is a large high school with academy status in Cramlington, Northumberland, England; it is a comprehensive school of around 2100 students. The school became an 11–18 school in September 2008 as part of a local authority reorganisation of education in the town which saw the former three-tier system, of first, middle and high schools, become a two-tier system of primary and secondary schools. The school takes students aged 11 to 18 years, the latter two school years in the Sixth Form.

Parkside Middle School was a school in Cramlington, United Kingdom from its foundation in 1909 until 2008, when it closed as middle school functions in the town were transferred to Cramlington Learning Village.

Annitsford is a village located in North Tyneside, on the border between Tyne and Wear and Northumberland. The main conurbation of the village falls under the jurisdiction of the Borough of North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear.

Burradon is a village in Tyne and Wear, England, to the north of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is adjacent to Camperdown and the two villages are closely linked. Camperdown was once known as Hazlerigge.

Dudley is a large village in North Tyneside, in the county of Tyne and Wear, England. A former mining village and formerly part of Northumberland, it was the site of Annitsford railway station, originally named Dudley. Dudley Colliery was situated in the village from 1856 until its closure in 1977.Former professional football player and coach Bobby Ferguson was born in the village.Robson Green, an English actor, angler, singer-songwriter and presenter, is from the village and grew up there.
