The Aida Foster Theatre School for drama, dance and education was founded by Aida Foster in 1929 as a hobby to teach dancing. It expanded over the years to become one of Britain's foremost stage schools. Many stage and film personalities of the 20th century received their professional education and arranged their first employment through the school. Run by Aida, and later by her daughter Anita Foster, it catered for three different groups of students: those that undertook dance training only, younger pupils that had full education plus both dancing and drama training, and older students taking drama training only. The Aida Foster School supplied many of the pantomime "babes" (children's choruses and parts) for the West End Christmas shows of the 1950s. They also obtained modelling contracts for many of the juveniles. Foster had started a theatrical agency associated with the school in 1944. Following the death of her husband she closed the school in 1970 to concentrate on the agency with her daughter Anita.The school was situated on Finchley Road in Golders Green, north London, just north of the junction with Golders Green Road.

Golders Green is a London Underground station in Golders Green, north London. The station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line between Brent Cross and Hampstead stations. It is in Travelcard Zone 3 and is the first surface station on the Edgware branch when heading north. The station is located at the crossroads of Finchley Road (A598) and Golders Green Road/North End Road (A502). The station exit is adjacent to Golders Green bus station; a former exit to Finchley Road is now closed. Adjacent to the station is the Golders Green Hippodrome, home to the BBC Concert Orchestra for many years and now the headquarters of a religious organisation.

The Golders Green Hippodrome was built in 1913 by Bertie Crewe as a 3,000-seat music hall, to serve North London and the new London Underground Northern line expansion into Golders Green in the London Borough of Barnet, London, England. Taken over by the BBC in the 1960s as a television studio, it has been put to more recent use as a radio studio and multi-purpose concert venue. In 2007, it became an evangelical church building. In 2017 it was acquired by Markaz El Tathgheef El Eslami (Centre for Islamic Enlightening). It was to be converted into an Islamic centre, but residents objected, and Barnet council deferred a decision.In October 2021 Hillsong Church bought the Hippodrome, with the intention of holding Sunday services there.

Golders Green is an area in the London Borough of Barnet in England. A smaller suburban linear settlement, near a farm and public grazing area green of medieval origins, dates to the early 19th century. Its bulk forms a late 19th century and early 20th century suburb with a commercial crossroads. The rest is of later build. It is centred approximately 6 miles (9 km) north west of Charing Cross on the intersection of Golders Green Road and Finchley Road. It was founded as a medieval hamlet in the large parish of Hendon, Middlesex. The parish was heavily superseded by Hendon Urban District in 1894 and by the Municipal Borough of Hendon in 1932, abolished in 1965. In the early 20th century, it grew rapidly in response to the opening of a tube station of the London Underground, adjacent to the Golders Green Hippodrome which was home to the BBC Concert Orchestra for many years. The area has a wide variety of housing and a busy main shopping street, Golders Green Road. It is known for its large Jewish population as well as for being home to the largest Jewish kosher hub (located west of Hoop Lane after the rail bridge) in the United Kingdom, which attracts many Jewish tourists.

Heruka Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) is member of the New Kadampa Tradition of Buddhism operating in North & Central London and in parts of Hertfordshire. Located in Golders Green, the Centre was founded in 1992 aiming "to provide a venue for Kadampa teachings in the London region". Roughly 20 students live and study at Heruka KMC. In addition the main meditation room, the Centre contains a small library and a shop that offers books published by Tharpa Publications, CDs, and artwork, and gifts.The Centre organises weekly meditation classes at over 15 venues in and around London. The classes feature guided meditations, basic Buddhist teachings, and question-and-answer sessions. Kadam John McBretney serves as the Resident Teacher for the Centre, and is responsible for teaching the main weekly classes taught at the Centre.Heruka KMC also runs special weekend meditation courses on a regular basis. These courses take a closer look at particular aspects of Buddhism and meditation. In addition, the Centre offers study programmes for the in-depth study of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's commentaries to Buddhist texts, and regular meditation retreats. Pujas, or chanted meditations, are also regularly held at the Centre. Heruka KMC is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition, which comprises over 1,100 Centres and classes around the globe.

St Edward the Confessor Church is a Catholic parish church in Temple Fortune, Golders Green, Borough of Barnet, London. It was built from 1914 to 1915, and designed by Arthur Young in the Gothic Revival style. It is located on the Finchley Road, on the corner with Hoop Lane, next to Golders Green Jewish Cemetery. In 2016, it was designated a Grade II listed building.

Golders Green Crematorium and Mausoleum was the first crematorium to be opened in London, and one of the oldest crematoria in Britain. The land for the crematorium was purchased in 1900, costing £6,000 (the equivalent of £135,987 in 2021), and the crematorium was opened in 1902 by Sir Henry Thompson.Golders Green Crematorium, as it is usually called, is in Hoop Lane, off Finchley Road, Golders Green, London NW11, ten minutes' walk from Golders Green Underground station. It is directly opposite the Golders Green Jewish Cemetery (Golders Green is an area with a large Jewish population). The crematorium is secular, accepts all faiths and non-believers; clients may arrange their own type of service or remembrance event and choose whatever music they wish.The crematorium gardens are listed at Grade I in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Golders Green Jewish Cemetery, usually known as Hoop Lane Jewish Cemetery, is a Jewish cemetery in Golders Green, London NW11. It is maintained by a joint burial committee representing members of the West London Synagogue and the S&P Sephardi Community (the Spanish and Portuguese Jews Congregation).

Golders Green United Synagogue (Dunstan Road) is a British synagogue.

Bloom's restaurant was a kosher Jewish deli restaurant in London. Until its last branch closed in summer 2010, it was the longest-standing kosher restaurant in England, and was well-known beyond the Jewish community. Blooms was under the supervision of the London Beth Din.

Finchley Road is a designated 4.5-mile (7-kilometre) arterial road in north-west London, England. The Finchley Road starts in St John's Wood near central London as part of the A41; its southern half is a major dual carriageway with high traffic levels often frequented by lorries and long-distance coaches as it connects central London, via the A41 Hendon Way, to the M1 motorway at Brent Cross and other roads at that interchange. Its northern half, which dissects away from the A41 and is designated as the A598, runs through suburban areas via the centre of Golders Green to Henlys Corner, where the road north of it leads to Finchley, from which Finchley Road gets its name from. Its southern half, in which it gives its name to the centre-west part of Hampstead, has two current railway stations including the name Finchley Road. London Buses route 13 runs through the entire road, while the route 113 runs only in its southern half.

The Finchley Road bombings occurred on 2 October 1993, when the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) detonated three time bombs on Finchley Road in north London, England. Telephoned warnings were sent six minutes beforehand, at approximately 00:26 UTC, but five people were injured from falling glass as a result of the blasts, and damage was caused to some shops and flats in the surrounding area. The three bombs were planted outside a Domino's Pizza restaurant, a travel agent, and offices of the St. Pancras Building Society. Later, anti-terrorist officers discovered and subsequently safely detonated a fourth bomb in a controlled environment, 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the initial bombings, in Golders Green. Two days later, on 4 October, the IRA detonated four more bombs in north London, two in Tottenham Lane and two more in Archway Road resulting in four injuries. The bombings were branded as "cowardly" by Home Secretary Michael Howard. They were the first IRA bombings in the capital for over five months. Following the bombings, the IRA phoned a Dublin radio station claiming responsibility for the attack.
