Van Norman Lake (Michigan)

Waterford Hill is located in Independence Township, in Oakland County, Michigan, 0.4 miles north of Waterford Village. The hill is classified as a summit. It extends from east of Dixie Highway including Ottawa Park Cemetery to the east, to Maple Lane in Moon Valley to the north, to Parview Drive and Greens Lake to the west, to Van Norman Lake to the south. Waterford Hill's elevation is 1,150 feet, making it the second highest point in Independence Township. Three miles away is Pine Knob, the highest point in the township at 1,201 feet.

Waterford Village is an historic community in Waterford Township, Michigan. First settled in 1819, the village is located in the northernmost part of the township along Dixie Highway, on the southeast shore of Van Norman Lake.

Moon Valley is located in the southern end of Independence Township in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. It comprises most of section 32 on the northern base of Waterford Hill.

Lester Lake is a lake in Oakland County, Michigan lake along the main branch of the Clinton River.Most of the lake lies within Waterford Township, however the northern portion of the lake is in Independence Township.Lester Lake connects upstream to the 117-acre Greens Lake. It also connects to 179-acre Lotus Lake and 234-acre Maceday Lake. Boaters can get from Lester Lake to Lotus Lake only by way of a narrow culvert under the railroad tracks. Downstream, Lester Lake connects to the 66-acre, 90-feet deep Van Norman Lake.

Townsend Lake is a 26-acre (11 ha) lake in Independence Township in Oakland County, Michigan along the main branch of the Clinton River.Townsend Lake connects upstream to 66-acre (27 ha) Van Norman Lake and downstream to 135-acre (55 ha) Woodhull Lake.

Rainbow Lake is a 5-acre (2.0 ha) lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It lies west of Dixie Highway and east of Airport Rd. The 15-foot (4.6 m) deep, spring fed private lake is next to Our Lady of the Lakes school.

Lotus Lake is an all-sports, 185-acre (75 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake along the Clinton River. Most of the lake lies within Waterford Township, however the northern portion of the lake is in Independence Township.Lotus Lake connects with the 234-acre (95 ha) Maceday Lake to the north, and connects upstream with 12-acre (4.9 ha) Lester Lake. Boaters can get from Lotus Lake to Lester Lake only by way of a narrow culvert under the railroad tracks. Blain Island lies between Lotus Lake and Maceday Lake. It is accessible by car via a bridge. There are three bridges on the island, affectionately named Lloyd, Beau and Jeff by the residents. There are mostly high-end luxury homes on the island.There is a public boat launch on Maceday Lake which allows boaters to easily access Lotus Lake.

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is a private, Roman Catholic school in Waterford Township, Michigan, United States. It is one of only 5 PK-12 schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. The high school was established in 1960 and shares its Waterford campus with Our Lady of the Lakes Elementary School and Middle School. Also sharing the campus is Our Lady of the Lakes parish church. Our Lady of the Lakes parish school was established in 1956 as an elementary school. Our Lady of the Lakes is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools
