As of 9 October 2011, it had a population of 1,455 and an area of 6.1 km².Domaso borders the following municipalities: Colico, Gravedona, Livo, Peglio, Vercana.

The Liro is a torrente, or stream, in the north Italian Province of Como. The drainage basin is triangular in shape; its principal source lies on Monte Marmontana near the Swiss border and flows through the Valle San Iorio (also Jorio). The second source lies to the northeast on the slopes of Pizzo Martello and forms the Valle del Dosso. Near Dosso del Liro the stream receives the waters of the torrente Ronzone, which flows from Monte Duria through the Val d’Inferno. The Liro enters Lake Como at Gravedona.

The municipality of Gravedona ed Uniti contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) of Negrana, San Carlo, Segna, Trevisa, Traversa and, following an act of fusion passed by Lombardy Region, the annexed former municipalities of Consiglio di Rumo and Germasino, included on May 16, 2011.The town of Gravedona has a small harbour and overlooks Lake Como and the eastern shoreline. On 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,669 and an area of 6.2 square kilometres (2.4 sq mi). After the enlargement of 2011, the municipality rose to an area of 40.8 square kilometres (15.8 sq mi) and a population of 4,222 inhabitants. Gravedona ... is situated at the mouth of a gorge. The handsome Palazzo del Pero with four towers, at the upper end, was built in 1586 by Pellegrino Tibaldi for the Milanese Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio. Adjoining the venerable church of San Vincenzo rises the 12th century Romanesque Baptistery of Santa Maria del Tiglio, with campanile, containing two Christian inscriptions of the 5th century. Gravedona ed Uniti borders the following municipalities: Colico, Domaso, Dongo, Dosso del Liro, Garzeno, San Nazzaro Val Cavargna, Peglio, Stazzona and, in Switzerland, Roveredo, Sant'Antonio and San Vittore.

Consiglio di Rumo is a frazione of the comune of Gravedona ed Uniti , Province of Como, Lombardy, northern Italy, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Milan and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast of Como, on the border with Switzerland. It was a separate comune until May 16, 2011, when it was annexed by Gravedona, following an act of fusion passed by Lombardy Region.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 209 and an area of 10.8 square kilometres (4.2 sq mi).Peglio borders the following municipalities: Domaso, Dosso del Liro, Gravedona, Livo.

The Mera (Lombard: Maira) is a river in Switzerland and Italy. Its source is near the Piz Mungiroi, in the Grisons, Switzerland. First, it flows east in the direction to Maloja Pass, then turns west through the Val Bregaglia (German: Bergell) and crosses the border to Italy in Castasegna (Dogana). It is joined by the Acquafraggia close to Piuro, and then turns south at Chiavenna, just before it receives the river Liro from the right at Prata Camportaccio. The Mera ends in Lake Como, near Sorico in the Province of Como.
