Rocky Butte

The Alameda Ridge is a large gravel bar located in Portland, Oregon, United States. It forms a ridgeline above much of north and southeast Portland, with views of downtown and west side neighborhoods. Alameda Ridge runs through the Madison South, Roseway, Rose City Park, Beaumont-Wilshire, Alameda, and Sabin neighborhoods.

Portland Bible College (PBC) is a four-year Bible college in Portland, Oregon, United States that offers theological and church ministry degrees. It was founded in 1967 and is associated with Mannahouse Church, which is associated with Ministers Fellowship International. The campus is adjacent to Mannahouse Church on Rocky Butte in northeast Portland.

Mannahouse Christian Academy (formerly City Christian Schools) is a private preK-12th grade Christian school located in Portland, Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington. It is associated with Mannahouse. The campus is within Mannahouse church, formerly City Bible Church. The school is accredited with AdvancED.

Hill Military Academy was a private, College preparatory military academy in Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. Opened in 1901, it was a leading military boarding school in the Pacific Northwest. Originally located in Northwest Portland, it later moved to Rocky Butte where it remained until it closed in 1959. The school was a party to the Pierce v. Society of Sisters United States Supreme Court case.

Mannahouse Church (formerly City Bible Church) is a non-denominational Christian megachurch located in Portland, Oregon, U.S. Their five campuses have six English services, three Spanish services, one Burmese service and multiple other international groups. Their Rocky Butte Campus serves as their headquarters. Mannahouse Church is Nondenominational and is not connected with or a part of any particular denomination (though partners with Ministers Fellowship International for certain purposes, like their Bible College).

Maywood Park is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The name came from a comment made by the wife of the man who developed the original subdivision, E. F. Taylor, who remarked one winter night how attractive the woods were in May. An enclave within the city of Portland, the residents of the city voted to incorporate in 1967 in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the construction of Interstate 205. The population was 829 at the 2020 census.

The National Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother, popularly known as The Grotto, is a Catholic outdoor altar and sanctuary located in the Madison South district of Portland, Oregon, United States. Constructed in 1924, the sanctuary covers 62 acres (25 ha), set both at the foot of, and atop, a 110 foot (34 m) cliff. It is a ministry of the Servite Friars, Order of Friar Servants of Mary. A large meditation hall whose main chamber is at clifftop level extends down to the foot of the cliff; the cross on the hill is visible many miles away. In addition to a church, there are several thousand feet of trails, including a trail of the Stations of the Cross, along which visitors may pass in contemplation through botanical gardens. The Grotto also features a full-service Conference Center, and a Gift Shop.

Gateway Green is a 25 acres (10 ha) park in northeast Portland, Oregon, known for catering to off-road cyclists.It is located between Interstate 205 and Interstate 84 on the former site of the Rocky Butte county jail. The park opened June 2017, but construction to further expand the park began March 2020 is expected to be complete by November 2020.

The John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial, also known as The Grotto: John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial, is an outdoor 1965 large bas-relief sculpture and memorial to John F. Kennedy by an unknown artist, installed outside The Grotto in Portland, Oregon, United States.

The Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, also known as Old Shriners Children's Hospital, was a historic building in Portland, Oregon, United States, built in 1923. It was designed in Colonial Revival style with aspects of the Georgian Revival style subtype. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, and removed in 2011, after being deconstructed in 2004. The hospital now known as Shriners Children's Portland moved to Marquam Hill in 1983, and the old site remained vacant until 2005 when it was demolished and an affordable living apartment complex, Columbia Knoll, was built on the site.

Madison South is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Portland, Oregon. It is bordered by the Roseway, Sumner, Cully, Parkrose, Montavilla, and Rose City Park neighborhoods, and by the enclave city of Maywood Park. The neighborhood roughly conforms to the boundaries of Interstate 84 to the south, Interstate 205 to the east, NE Sandy Boulevard to the north, and NE 65th Avenue to the west. Notable features of Madison South include Rocky Butte, an inactive volcanic cinder cone; the Grotto, a Catholic nature sanctuary; and the Alameda Ridge, a gravel bar left over from the Missoula Floods. Notable structures include McDaniel High School, Roseway Heights Middle School, the MAX Light Rail NE 82nd Ave Station, and the former international headquarters of Banfield Pet Hospitals.

Parkrose/Sumner Transit Center is a TriMet transit center and light rail station on the MAX Red Line in Portland, Oregon. It is the fourth stop north on the Airport MAX branch, and consists of an island platform in the median of Interstate 205. The entrance and exit to the transit center are on Sandy Blvd. near 95th Avenue, in the Parkrose neighborhood and east of the Sumner neighborhood. It is a hub for bus service to Gresham, Tigard, Lents, Fairview, Vancouver, Wood Village and Clackamas. A bridge across the northbound lanes of I-205 connects the MAX platform to a park-and-ride lot and bus stops.
